On the way out, they kiss and she tells him she will never let him forget that she was right. Mel comes over and tells them to go home and get some rest. Reporters arrive and begin questioning Doris. She tells them that the case is not closed but the charges have been dropped. Doris coughs and vows that the person who kidnapped Lizzie will pay. Turning, Doris tells Bill that he is very ‘lucky’. Lizzie warns her that Bill wants to go to the police. Mel will warn him about the risks and advises Lizzie to help work the PR aspects of the case. After she goes off to see Bill, Lizzie tells Billy that he can't let anyone see his doubts for a second. "I won't let anyone see my doubts if you don't let anyone see yours," he offers. She's offended. He suggests she's overcompensating. That makes her even angrier and she accuses him of needing her to have doubts so that he can feel better about himself. He says that she may be right about that. Mel returns and says that Bill is nowhere to be found.
