    Avenue to Success

    Monday, April 02 2007

In his office, Alan-Michael catches Ava collecting what remains of her things. He doesn't want her to leave her job. 'If you step out that door, you lose,' he warns. She quits, but he won't accept it. He needs her help now that Doris is trying to take over the company. He knows that she isn't as sweet as everyone says; she's ambitious and loves a challenge. She can't trust him, but he doesn't care. He wants her to stay because they know that she wants it. Later, at Towers, Doris shouts out for a waiter when Ava arrives and sits with her. Ava tells her that she was talking to Alan-Michael and he is nervous about her. Doris doesn't trust her, but Ava says that she wants to be on the side that wins in this. She's more like her mother than she thought. She wants things and needs to prove that she deserves more. Doris understands the feeling, but needs assurances. Ava offers her Alan-Michael's briefcase; he betrayed her and she wants revenge. 'All righty then. Consider me your avenue to success,' Doris says as she walks out. Alan-Michael peers over, he has been listening from behind a paper. She orders lunch and he asks her to admit that they're a great team. She just tells him to 'get out of here' and he leaves. He goes to Cedars and finds the note with the 'A' on it sitting on the floor. Meanwhile, Doris berates Rick and tells him that he is no longer Alan's physician.

    Josh is Sentenced

    Friday, March 30 2007

At the courthouse, Josh is still in handcuffs as Reva starts lashing out at Doris who promptly walks away. Reva wonders why Cassie isn't there. Josh doesn't know where she is. Inside the courtroom, Reva tearfully tells the court about what a good man Josh is and how he helps people. Jeffrey gets a text message from Cassie asking him to stretch out the hearing as long as possible. He and Josh have no idea what she is up to. The ADA starts questioning Reva and reminds the court that she thought he was guilty last time she was on the stand. After finishing with her, Reva starts ranting about how innocent Josh is and begs the judge not to take him away. Billy takes the stand next and compares Josh to the lighthouse, 'he is a beacon of decency...he is a good man.' Doris takes the stand with tears in her eyes which Billy imagines must really be dollar signs. As she talks about how important she is to Alan, everyone guffaws, but Doris goes on to beg to judge to put Josh away so that he won't destroy anymore innocent lives.

    The Verdict is in

    Monday, March 26 2007

Doris and Ashlee are in the hall at Towers. Ashlee admits that she doesn't want to see Josh get sent away; he seems like a really nice guy. Doris is dismayed that she isn't showing more support for her family. Ashlee doesn't feel like she has much of a family since none of them showed up for her party. She wants to be left out of this. Doris says that she's done all of this for her, but Ashlee doesn't care: She just wants real friends, like Coop, her one friend.

Lizzie goes to visit Alan at Cedars. She can't understand how, whenever she tries to do something right, it goes wrong. She feels like she shouldn't have done anything. Coop has been listening and breaks in: He's glad to see that she still cares about doing the right thing. 'Sometimes I want people like you to like me,' she says, but most of the time she likes to be a Spaulding. She's been trying to change though, she laughs. Coop admits that he really loved her and never loved anyone like that before. He's sorry about Sarah. She's sorry about everything that's happened to him too. Sitting him down, she starts rubbing his head and suggesting that they should be friends now. He asks her for coffee and she kisses Alan goodbye before Doris and Ashlee walk in. Coop asks for a moment alone with Doris. He tells her that Ashlee deserves better. Doris isn't going to hang around listening to this and storms away.

    In Time

    Wednesday, March 21 2007

Reva takes Josh back into the courthouse and asks him again if he's sure. He is. Josh embraces Cassie and RJ for one last time and promises RJ that he will be home soon. As Josh sits by Jeffrey, the court is called to order when the judge enters. As the proceedings begin, a bailiff runs in and gives the ADA a paper. The ADA rises to say that they can't go on with the deal. Outraged, Jeffrey and Josh meet with Doris. She says that the evidence doesn't match and asks for the story again. Doris is confidant that Josh is lying. A ballistics report says that Alan was shot at a distance of at least seven feet. There is no way things could have gone down the way Josh says. It was not self-defense; it had to have been a cold-blooded 'assassination' and she won't take less than ten years for that.
