    Kiss the Bride

    Wednesday, February 27 2008

Reva is serving Jonathan shots and toasting. She smiles, thrilled that he's brought her granddaughter back into her life. She then gives him an envelope full of start-up money and hugs him, telling him that she would do anything for him. They go over to the bar. Billy joins Reva as she looks around. "I think true love should have something to do with it or what's the point?" he shrugs as they discuss the wedding. She walks over to help Josh decorate. Meanwhile, Cassie tracks Beth across the room and corners her. "I never meant to hurt you," she says. Beth isn't about to talk to her though.

Jonathan thanks Josh for agreeing to perform the service. Billy agrees to guard the door to keep a lookout for Alan. Before he goes out, he hugs Lizzie and can't stop from admitting that he's sad she's not marrying his son. She sits down and looks at the flower Bill gave her. Meanwhile, Josh tells Reva that he's seen her look happier. She thinks the only way Jonathan will ever love Lizzie is if he forgets Tammy. Cassie overhears this and walks out. She begins pacing in the alley when her daughter appears to comfort her. Billy interrupts the hallucination and Cassie hurries back inside. She stands by Lizzie as the service is about to begin. Suddenly, Rick calls Beth to say that Alan is back in town. "What are we gonna do?" Lizzie asks. "Do you have a short version of this?" Jonathan asks Josh. They promptly start the service but the baby begins crying so Jonathan picks her up as it goes along. Before Josh can get through his preamble, Bill runs in and tells them to stop.

    Is This Just Sex?

    Tuesday, February 26 2008

At the church, Lizzie is trying to finish preparations for the wedding. Jonathan just wants to get the whole thing over with. Lizzie has a question before they do: "Did you happen to kill your girlfriend's father while you were away?" She starts to ramble but asks the question again. He tells her she doesn't need to know anything about it and starts to drink. Then he tells her that Bill is just playing her and worries that his rival is going to ruin things. Pulling on his coat, he heads for the door, vowing to "take care of this." That doesn't sound good to Lizzie.

Dinah arrives at Bill's office and flops on the couch. She tells her brother he's an idiot and he should just tell Lizzie that he loves her. Soon, he'll lose her altogether. Bill insists he doesn't love her; he just doesn't want anyone else to have her. Dinah continues to taunt him and he keeps biting back until she swats him, messing up her manicure. After she leaves, Jonathan appears. "You told Lizzie I killed a man. Kind of makes me want to," he says. "Murder...that's a step up from arson," Bill smugly jokes as he pours coffee. Jonathan threatens him and tells him he doesn't want him anywhere near his daughter. Bill seems undaunted and Jonathan continues his threats. Finally, Jonathan grips Bill's neck and starts screaming in his face until Lizzie pops her head in and calls him off. They leave Bill alone.

Lizzie follows Jonathan back to the bar. He starts to aggressively play pool. She tells him they should take Sarah and vanish right after the wedding. He asks her if she's sure. Can she give up all her family and friends forever? She agrees to do so. "I'll pack the car," he glumly announces. As he packs, he asks her again if she's sure. Once again she insists that she is. Bill suddenly starts knocking on the door. Jonathan answers and tells him that he needs some alone time with the bride; they're busy "bucking tradition" he gloats before slamming the door in his rival's face.

    Time to Let Go

    Thursday, February 21 2008

At the church, Jonathan worries that Billy is looking after Sarah. Lizzie tries to calm his paranoia. Josh walks in and starts packing up his things. Lizzie feels bad that he's been suspended. He asks them if there's something he can do for them. Lizzie blurts out that she and Jonathan need to be married as soon as possible...for protect her from Alan, she adds. Josh wonders if that's a good enough reason to get married. What about love? Jonathan thought that being a minister meant you had to work for God, not play Him. Josh agrees, but he wonders why they came to him to marry them instead of just going to a judge. Lizzie says that it's because he understands what they've been through and what Sarah means to them. Josh points out that a baby can't save a marriage or keep two people together. He will marry them, however, but they can't do it in the church.

Josh arrives at the police station. Cassie explains what happened; she thinks she's finally cracked. She lashed out at Reva and Will joined in. Now the boy is being sent away. Josh thinks this may be what's best for Will. Cassie wants him to help her keep her son. Josh is still reluctant to do anything more to keep Will walking free. Suddenly, Jonathan arrives. He explains to Cassie that he is there to get a marriage license. This doesn't sit well with Cassie. He says that his marriage to Lizzie won't mean anything. What he had with Tammy was "sacred" but what he has with Lizzie is Sarah, he explains. Cassie understands that you do what you have to in order to protect your children. After he walks away, she turns back to Josh and tells him he's right: This is the best thing for Will. She asks him to go and pick up RJ.

Later, Jonathan arrives at Company and smugly starts rubbing the impending marriage in Bill's face. Bill asks him what his secret is— all of his relationships seem to end so tragically. "What's idiot taking about?" Jonathan asks. Lizzie tells him to forget it. Bill asks Jonathan not to ruin her life too. He leaves and Lizzie plays with her hair as Jonathan sits down. He surprises her by giving her a ring. He offers to get her a bigger diamond when they have money. She doesn't care about that and asks him to slip it on. He sarcastically offers to get down on his knee. "Please don't," she smiles. He slips it on as Bill watches through the window. Jonathan jokes that it's just a cubic zirconia and yawns as she slumps against him in the booth.

    On Hiatus

    Tuesday, February 19 2008

Jonathan returns to his room. He finds Lizzie excited that she's gotten Sarah down to sleep. He asks if there's anything he can do. "Marry me," she suggests. That makes things awkward and he reminds her that he can only love Tammy. Lizzie misses the dead girl too, but Jonathan says it's hardly comparable. Lizzie reminds him that Tammy is dead and she's alive; besides, he needs to stop blaming Alan and move on. He points out that she pulled away from their kiss the other day as well and that wasn't because of Tammy, it was because of Bill. She insists that things are over with Bill and she wants to give her daughter a stable and sensible life. When she tells him she will be taking Sarah out, he's nervous but she assures him that it's alright and sends him off alone.

Jonathan goes to Company and orders a beer. Ava walks in, happy to see him. They hug and start catching up. She tells him he could get a job at Lewis Construction. He won't work for Bill and is disgusted to see that she seems smitten with the younger Lewis as well. She tells him that Bill just had a meeting with Alan. He probes her for details.
