    Making Things Real

    Tuesday, September 26 2006

Right away, Josh tells Cassie everything that just happened between him and Reva, assuring her that it was just their way of 'letting go.' Cassie doesn't take this well and runs off. He catches up with her. She says she won't be in a relationship where she has to watch her back like this. He says she won't have to because all that the incident in the garage did, he repeats, is settle things for good and clarify to him that he really wants to be with her. She believes him, or wants to, and tells him that the one thing she learned most from Reva was never to be afraid. They embrace and look up at the full moon. She finally tells him that she loves him 'completely' and he returns the vow.

Reva has returned to Billy and tells him everything that happened, breaking down at the end and admitting that she still loves Josh. She talks about making her relationship with Billy real now, not just for show. He tells her that he doesn't want to take Josh's place in her heart, that he hoped he already had his own place there. She confesses that, when she was in Josh's arms, she forgot that she was sick. Billy earnestly tells her that he can help her forget too, if she'll let him.

    Old Times, New Times

    Monday, September 25 2006

Harley discovers Cassie worrying and waiting for Josh who has yet to appear. Harley warns her again that Josh is a 'one woman man' and Cassie rebuts her by claiming: 'Yes, I am the woman.' Cassie tries to convince Harley that things are really different now because Josh and Reva have signed divorce papers. This leaves Harley unimpressed, but Cassie just becomes more excited about finding Josh and the two of them rush off to look. They go all the way to Josh's house, but he is nowhere to be found. Harley gives up and heads off. Cassie continues to look, finally running into Billy who is surprised that she isn't with Josh. She demands to know where he is and he tells her that she can find him in the parking garage.

Josh and Reva are still trapped underground in the parking garage. They try their phones but they can't get a signal. She tries to get some distance from him and tells him that he shouldn't be there with her. He asks her what she's afraid of. Reva avoids answering and wanders back exclaiming that 'no good deed goes unpunished' to a perplexed Josh. They try to have a conversation to pass the time, but only on the grounds that there be 'no regrets and no finger-pointing.' As their dialogue becomes more comfortable, she continues to say to herself that he should be with Cassie right now. Then a beeping starts to emit from her purse. A suspicious Josh grabs it and digs out a medical alert button that she uses to remind her when to take her medication. He begins to quiz her on why she has this. Her only response is that it's because she has 'menopausal issues' and he doesn't press it anymore. In fact, this makes him feel old and he eagerly asks for a nail file so he can try to pick the lock and get them out. As she hands it to him, she nearly faints and falls into his arms. Embarrassed, she says 'I used to be so graceful.' Josh laughs and says no, 'you used to move well.' They sit back on the car and begin to reminisce about going dancing when they were younger. She turns on the radio and asks him to dance 'for old time's sake.' He can't resist. Soon, their lips brush together and they kiss.

    Olivia Goes Down

    Friday, September 22 2006

Billy wakes Reva from her sleep only to be interrupted by a knock at the door. It's Cassie. She tells him that Josh has gone missing and she is starting to panic. Billy tells her that he doesn't know where josh could be, only then does Reva make her presence known, as she offers Cassie her help. This awkward gesture makes Cassie uncomfortable but Reva reminds her that they aren't in competition for Josh. Cassie is unconvinced and comments that her attitude seems forced and fake: She really can't understand where Reva is coming from anymore. With that, Reva lets slip that she doesn't have time for all of this, a statement which causes Cassie to begin worrying about her.

Josh has been at a worksite all along. We find him angrily hammering on a nail in a monologue where he wonders why Reva is pushing him to be with her sister and wishes that Cassie would finally stop her 'flip-flopping.' Billy easily tracks him down there. Josh tells him that he isn't angry; he's just confused and frustrated. This is because the Shayne sisters have finally succeeded in driving him insane. Billy teasingly tells him that 'you might be a little bit responsible for that, since you love them both.' They begin to hammer their frustration out on the site until Billy slips away to call Reva and tell her that he has found Josh. She asks him to send a message to Cassie from Josh's phone and he agrees. Moments later, Cassie receives the message and rushes off to meet Josh. Reva follows close behind to make sure that 'mission is accomplished.' While she lurks around the parking garage below the site, Josh discovers her and begins to question her presence there. Just as she is about to excuse herself, the parking gate shuts, locking them both in.

    Misery Loves Company

    Tuesday, September 19 2006

Josh is waiting for Reva in Billy's room. When Billy and Reva return, they are startled to find him there and spill the money Reva won in a poker game all over the floor. Josh doesn't take much notice of this and, spotting a photo of himself on the table, tells Reva they need to talk about the divorce papers which she has yet to sign. Billy excuses himself to take the money to the bank. Reva and Josh go up to the lighthouse so that they can end things in the most appropriate setting possible. He tells her that, even though this is an ending, 'there will never be an end to us'; this is just the end of their pain together, so that they can move on with their lives. Reva then tells him that he's been a better husband than she ever deserved and that there's something he really needs to know. He says that now is the time to put everything on the table, but she still can't manage to tell him what is wrong with her. They exchange goodbyes and go their separate ways. Reva prays to God to look at everything she's done, and says that, for all of her sacrifices, he owes her something.

Cassie tries calling everyone she knows because she is desperate for a night out on the town. Unfortunately for her, no one is available. She even tries to take Frank and Mallet out, but they're on duty. Finally, Cassie ends up having drinks with Dinah. They decide that they aren't going to talk about men, but find it difficult to avoid. Cassie says that falling in love is always a mistake. Dinah tells her that the trick is finding a man who will love you more than you could love him; that way you aren't left too vulnerable. They try to get drunk and are disappointed that no men are hitting on them. Mallet walks in and Cassie convinces Dinah to go talk to him. She agrees only so she can 'get rid of him.' They start hotly debating who really left who and Dinah begins to rant about how well resentment and denial have served her. Mallet stops her with a kiss which silences her and then tell her that he's 'over it' and leaves her alone. While Mallet has been talking to Dinah, Reva has been with Cassie, trying to explain to her that her life with Josh is over. Reva says that she should call Josh now that they're getting divorced and that she just wants them to be happy together. Cassie doesn't trust her however, and asks her to stop 'messing with her head' and to stop dangling Josh in front of her. Reva insists that she's being genuine and that she just wants the two of them to have a chance at a beautiful life together. When the night comes to an end, Dinah leaves Cassie alone and she stares down at her phone wondering is she should call Josh. At that moment, Josh is at home and, seeing that there are no messages for him, goes into the night alone. Once he has gone, the call from Cassie rings into the empty room.

    Gambling On the Future

    Monday, September 18 2006

Cassie is giving Josh a passionate kiss while he half-heartedly tries to break away and explain that Reva didn't sign the divorce papers. He finally pulls away from her as she excitedly imagines a life where they no longer have to feel like they're betraying Reva all the time. When he tells her that she didn't sign the divorce papers however, a look of dejection clears her face. He assures her that it will happen, it just isn't official for some flaky reason of Reva's. Cassie believes though, that this reluctance on Reva's part is a sign that she still must want to get back together with him. Josh tells her that the love he shared with Reva is a love that comes from the past and what they went through; it is not a love that has a future. He tells her that they've fought too much, and too many people to stop now when they almost have what they really want. He drags her to Billy and Reva's room in an effort to sort things out finally. This backfires when Cassie finds a photo of Josh on the table and takes this as proof that she obviously hasn't given up on the marriage. Cassie leaves but Josh stays to wait for Billy and Reva's return. When they come through the door, they are startled to find him there and accidentally spill the poker winnings onto the floor.

    A Day Out

    Friday, September 15 2006

Reva is at Billy's trying to write a letter and worrying about how long she has left to get Cassie and Josh together. Just then, Josh comes to the door with divorce papers in hand. She is startled but not entirely surprised. He tells her that it was she who gave him the idea that it was 'time to let go.' Reva is disappointed and reminds him that it wasn't so long ago that they tore up divorce papers. He says he remembers that time 'like it was a dream,' but now it's time to sign and tell the kids that she's with 'Uncle Billy' and he's with 'Aunt Cassie.' Reva stares at the document for a long time after Josh leaves and has trouble signing despite having 'plenty of experience divorcing him.' When she finally turns the page over to sign it, she notices a clause which calls for a full financial disclosure. She becomes horrified when she realizes that this will make it obvious that she's been paying for medical treatments. She has no idea how to hide all of the money that has gone so Billy offers to put money in, an offer she refuses.
