I believe that people don't like Cassie for two reasons.
1. NF is a newcomer and you want her to look or act like the old Cassie. 2. You don't like the Storyline especially concerning the characters Josh/Reva.
Nicole Forester isn't responsible for either of those offences against you. So when you write unflattering remarks, I have to respectively disagree. I consider NF one of the better actors on the show, especially lately.
I have been watching for approximately 6 months and have really enjoyed NF portrayal of Cassie. I don't have any of the old baggage of knowing the old Cassie or a long allegiance to the Josh/Reva relationship. What I do know is that GL viewer ship is down, not from people who have watched this soap for a long time, but from being unable to recruit allot of new viewers. I almost stopped watching after Tammy/Jon left, but I hung in there to watch what would happen with the Lizzie and Cassie characters (I like both of them). The reason I liked these characters is because I could relate with them better than the older characters like Billy, Alan, Gus and Reva (All which are good actors.
I only watch this one soap; In general I think soaps are a waste of time. But I'm still watching to see what my favorite characters are doing each day. I donít tell my friends of this activity for they would have me committed. But if I could suggest, if you don't want GL to follow Passions (from what I have read), you may need some flexibility in accepting new characters and SLís which new viewers may enjoy. I know I try to do this, even with the older characters. It wouldnít be the first time that a few people with a poison pen, kill a show or character which many liked. (This is just my opinion and does not reflect the views of many or even any of the postings on this thread)
After reading a post about Cassie, I felt I should put in my two cents. I don't think that many of the posts about Cassie are written with a poison pen. We are just true GL fans with our own personal opinions of each character. This is what makes this thread great. We all get along and do not mean to try and degrade an actor. The role of Cassie, to me, is not being played well. NF did a good job when she was mourning Cassie, but after that she seemed to lose it. She became the same whining Cassie as before.Yes, you are right about most of us not liking Cassie because of her betraying her sister. We all know this is just a soap, but we all just love and write about the characters. I don't feel this will cause the GL to go off the air. Fans make the show popular, and with out us talking and dissecting the program, it would not be as popular as it is today. So I will continue to place my thoughts and opinions and wait to hear from everyone else, so we can discuss our own opinions. JMO

Quote NGray1: I think some of the comments made are disrespectful to Nicole Forrester. She is giving you her all everyday and some people are telling her to go back to her Olive Garden commercial? That is completely unnessary. Please stick to bashing Cassie and not Nicole.
I think a moderator needs to step in because I am seriously getting offended.
NGrey, I am the one that made the remark about NF going to the Olive Garden . It was not made to offend anyone, just a banter back and forth between Hunter and I. Let us all be friends and not take the jokes too seriously. Just posting our thoughts. I like the actress NF. I just dont't think she is the right actress for the role of Cassie. No offense to you or the other posters.
NGray1 is quite right. Cassie posts have a tendency to get unusually nasty. I'd like to remind everyone to please use their words carefully. I know that sometimes we can give the wrong impression and not make a proper distinction between an actor and the part they play. I've had to deal with enough Cassie-related nastiness however to see that there is sometimes something far more personal going on for some people. You are welcome to love of despise Cassie all you like, but please remember to be respectful to the woman who portrays her. Thank you.
