    BIOGRAPHY

Deas grew up all over the Eastern seaboard and in places as far abroad as Mexico City and Teheran, due to his father's travels. He attended William and Mary College and received the bulk of his theatrical training with John Houseman's advanced class at the Juilliard School in New York City. Justin has used his flair for comedic timing and keen sense of drama to win over audiences on stage and on television for many years. Deas played a wide range of Shakespearean roles, including Duke in Measure for Measure at Washington D.C.'s Folger Theater Center and Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet at Minneapolis' Guthrie Theater. For the Dallas Shakespeare Festival, he had leading roles in A Comedy of Errors and The Tempest. He also appeared in New York City as Brutus in the Brooklyn Academy of Music production of Julius Caesar and in the title role of Hamlet at the Manhattan Theater Club. Deas' other roles include Kenickie in the first national company of the hit musical Grease, the lead in the Seattle A.C.T. production of Streamers and a part in The November People on Broadway. Deas also acted off-Broadway in Porno Stars at Home and in the world premiere of Beth Henley's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Crimes of the Heart.

Deas began his daytime career when he stared as Bucky Carter on Ryan's Hope. He won his first of six Emmy Awards for Best Supporting Actor as attorney Tom Hughes on As the World Turns in 1984 and an additional two in the category for his role as Keith Timmons on Santa Barbara in 1988 and 1989. His portrayal of Buzz Cooper led to three more Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in 1994, 1995 and 1997 and a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2005.
