In Orlando, Alan is on a boat with Beth and James. He's annoyed that they don't see how serious this situation is and imagines Lizzie is trying to erase her past as a Spaulding. Before he can rant, James tells him to back off.
Lizzie and Bill wander around Universal Studios and recall her favorite commercials. She tells him the childhood thing they did yesterday was everything she hoped for and now she just wants to be with him. He sends her off to get a pretzel and calls Phillip to ask for Lizzie's hand in marriage. Lizzie returns and Phillip gives him permission. Bill thanks him and hangs up. Lizzie asks what's going on but he claims it's business. They sit down and count their dates. He asks her what her perfect day would be. "Not that," she says as she spots Alan and the family pulling up the boat. As they walk onto the pier, Lizzie demands to know why they are there and tells Alan he wasn't invited. Alan claims he wants to have some family fun. Lizzie says she came there for privacy. Alan won't back off and offers to fly her to Europe.
Daisy, Ashlee and Christina sit on the curb. Ashlee is annoyed because she lost her baggage. They ask Daisy what they should do next and then hail a cab.
Remy is running around the hotel looking for Christina and the others. He has no luck. He continues looking around.
Back in Springfield, Phillip asks Rick to cover for him while he slips away to Florida. He explains the situation to him and worries that Beth won't be able to handle it. Rick agrees to help.
Back in Florida, Bill takes Alan aside and tells him he's not welcome there. Alan asks him if he wants Lizzie to be on good terms with the first love of her life - her family. "That statement is all kinds of wrong," Bill says. Alan accuses him of being the 'interloper' in all of this. Bill returns to Lizzie and tells her to spend some time with her family while he takes care of something. He suggests she take Alan on a ride after he's had a big meal and then slips away.
Bill slips behind the scenes of one of the attractions and asks someone for help setting something up so he can propose to his girlfriend.
Back at Ravenwood, Rick hides in Phillip's bed with the sheets pulled up. When the orderlies come in to see him, he groans and sends them away. "I'm a grown man. You really owe me," Rick mutters to himself.
Meanwhile, in Florida, Alan begins making suggestions to Lizzie about what they can do but she's already seen most of the attractions. Lizzie tells her mother all about what Bill's been doing for her. Alan points out that she already had one childhood. "A happy one," Lizzie says. Remy runs into them and asks them if they've seen James. He tells them about all the people he invited down there. Alan's annoyed to hear about it. Lizzie tells him to watch the ride. When he turns to look, the ride flies by and soaks him with a wave. They get him an official Universal Studios t-shirt. "Now that I fit in with all the other nincompoops, why don't we do a ride?" he says. Bill takes Alan on a roller coaster and does his Woody Woodpecker impression while Beth and Lizzie laugh.
Christina, Ashlee and Daisy are at the park gates. Ashlee wants to come up with a series of signals that Daisy can use to tell them she wants to be alone with James. He shows up and hands them express passes. Ashlee and Christiana grab them and run in. Daisy tells him she can't be bought. As they walk around the park, James takes a picture of her laughing. She admits that she hasn't laughed much lately because of Grady. He whisks her off for some funnel cake. Remy runs up to them, still searching for Christina. After he runs off, Daisy drags a scared James onto a roller coaster.
Ashlee and Christina stand by a ride. A worker hits on Ashlee. They giggle and get on the ride. When they get off, Remy surprises them. Ashlee sends him and Christina away together. When the couple leaves, the worker returns and hints that they should have lunch together.
As the Spauldings get some food and talk about what to do next, Phillip suddenly arrives. Alan wonders how he got there. Phillip and Bill slip away to talk. Bill asks again for Lizzie's hand. He gushes about how great she is and how he hasn't treated her right. There's no doubt in his mind that he loves her and wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Phillip grants it again. Ashlee eavesdrops a few feet away while Bill worries that Alan will spoil the surprise he has planned for Lizzie.
Alan is trying to get Beth on his side. She continues to refuse. As he worries about how Phillip's return is tearing the family apart, Lizzie reminds him that no one invited him there and tells him to go home. The ride rushes by and splashes him again. Beth and Lizzie laugh.
