At home, Marina's phone begins to ring. She searches through her boxes to find it. It's Mallet. She asks him how DC is. He tells her that they can see it together some day. She thanks him for going up there to move them up on the adoption registry. He promises results soon. She thinks that a baby might give them all hope again.
Mallet hangs up. He's not in DC, he's in Bosnia. An adoption agent walks over to him. He tells her how eager he is to adopt a baby. He tells her the story of why he wants to adopt and gives her all of his paperwork. She wonders why he isn't waiting for his wife. He explains that she is dealing with a death in the family. She wonders if he is really married at all and tells him that she has to protect the children.
Mallet goes to the consulate to get his visa stamped so he can leave. While he's there, Dinah walks in. They step away and she explains why she is there. She erased the only image Shayne and Edmund had of Lara so she came there to find something of hers that might have been left behind. He offers to help her out. He goes in and talks to the consul and gets her the package which Lara left behind. She thinks she should mail it back to town; there may be no reason for her to fly back home. She opens the package to see what's inside and asks him why he is there. "I'm here on a mission," he says. After he explains it, he tells her that the agency needs to meet both parents. Dinah reminds him that she's played his wife before and can again.
At the jail, Philip tells his father that he owes him. He's trapped inside and unable to help Lizzie. Alan points out that Lizzie wants him to keep him in there. Phillip wishes he had walked out when Buzz gave him the chance. Alan sits down and talks about how Buzz is going crazy. Phillip suggests he look at things from his position. Alan's already been there. Phillip wants to take over looking after Beth and the children again. His father worries that he will only make things worse.
Beth goes to visit Phillip and asks him what he was thinking by pulling a gun at a funeral. He's sent James a letter. She tells him that this has been hard on their son. He wants to discuss Lizzie and Cyrus. She says that he's the only person she trusts right now and she doesn't know who to believe. "I'm sorry about everything you're going through right now," he offers. She liked his speech, but no one knows what to make of him. He wishes that they could start over. She pulls out an invitation to their high school reunion. "I guess they want to make sure the prom king and queen are going to be there," she says.
Lizzie is startled to find Buzz sitting at Alan's desk. She suggests that he go. He won't. She insists that they are sorry for what happened to Coop. Buzz thinks it's time that Alan paid. "The last thing Coop would have ever wanted is for you to be acting like my grandfather," she says. Life is messed up, but Coop loved him and he needs to hold onto that. Buzz listens to this and then walks out. She sits alone for awhile until Alan returns. He searches for his lawyer's number. She begs him not to let her father get out. He won't let him out until they know if he's okay; he wants a restraining order against Buzz. She tells him not to provoke him and admits that Buzz was there. He panics. "How many people should die before this is over?" she asks. "Ask Buzz that question," he shoots back. Although she tries to stop him, he rushes off.
Buzz arrives at Marina's. He wants to speak to Mallet. She tells him that he's out of town. As she takes his boxes upstairs, he looks around. "I shouldn't be here," he tells himself. She comes back downstairs. She's worried about him. So is he; he's afraid of what he could be turning into. He needs to see Alan so they can clear the air.
Bill follows Cyrus into his brother's place. He confronts them about the kidnapping and points at the tattoo on Grady's chest covering his scar. Grady promptly punches him out. As the brothers try to figure out what to do, Bill runs off and drives away. They run outside. Grady thinks they're sunk. Cyrus has an idea.
Bill drives to the mansion. He walks around the grounds looking for a way in. As he does, Grady begins following him.
Cyrus calls Lizzie and she tells him about the mess with Buzz. He tells her that he has a business idea. A text comes in from Grady saying that 'it is done'. He asks Lizzie for the jet so he can take care of business quickly. She agrees. He hurries to his brother and finds Bill bound and gagged in the back of the van.
Alan goes to Marina's demanding to see Buzz. He's not there so Alan storms off. She tries calling him but he left his phone there.
Alan finds Buzz on his lawn. He repeats that he didn't kill Coop. "Yes, you did," Buzz insists.
Lizzie goes to the jail to visit Phillip.
