Reva is gushing to Jeffery about how they can have a happy ending to their pregnancy. He tells her that she should say that on camera. She realizes that he's seen her video. He's angry and brings up her previous suicide attempts. She claims that it's different this time and she wants to be around for their child. "You have to choose to live," he says. She admits that she's made a lot of these videos and takes out a box full of the recordings. He can't get over how every day that he thought was full of hope was filled with her confessing her secret feelings to her son. She wanted to prove that her love for her son would never die. He lectures her about the need to be brave and strong. She yells back at him, claiming that she is hanging on by her fingernails and won't be called a quitter. He forbids her to leave him to raise the child alone; he doesn't want to have to tell their son that she was a coward. She walks out.
Frank is cleaning up at Company when Buzz walks in. He's exhausted so his son helps him sit down. "Help me make Alan pay," Buzz begs. He needs Frank to turn his back for awhile. Frank doesn't think framing Alan will bring Coop back. He reminds his father of everything he still has to live for and tells him not to dishonor Coop's memory. They hug and Frank asks him to promise an end to the 'crazy talk'.
Alan finds Cyrus sitting at his desk, gabbing on the phone. Alan tells him that there will be more than enough Spauldings around to handle projects now that Phillip is back. Lizzie walks in and asks them what's going on and then asks Cyrus out for dinner. When she goes to get her coat, Alan warns Cyrus that he hasn't forgotten about what he did to his sister. "Different woman, different plan," Cyrus says. After he walks out, Alan lights a cigar. A pain shoots through his gut.
Grady calls Bill. Disguising his voice, he tells him not to be stupid or, next time, Lizzie won't be so easy to find. After he hangs up, Bill goes into the jail to see Phillip. "If you love your daughter, you will work with me," Bill says. He admits that he's screwed things up since he got back, but he wants to make them right. Phillip doesn't see how he can help. Lizzie hates him even more than Bill. Besides that, he's locked in jail and he doesn't trust him.
Buzz arrives next. Phillip tells him that he can't help anyone while he's locked up in jail. Buzz unlocks his cell. Phillip doesn't know what to do. "I expect you to be Phillip Spaulding, not someone soft and sentimental," Buzz says. Phillip doesn't think killing his father will help. Buzz threatens to drag him out of the cell. When he tries, he collapses. Buzz claims he wants justice. "Justice is what they give you when they can't give back what you lost," Phillip philosophizes. He tells him that Coop's books will live on. "You can stay here and rot," Buzz says, walking out and locking him in.
Lizzie is eating with Cyrus at Towers. She tells him about when her father tried kidnapping her. Bill arrives and confronts Cyrus about his dreams. He accuses him of calling him and threatening Lizzie. When he points out Cyrus' dog tags, Lizzie remembers the sound. She asks him to open his shirt. When he does, they can see that there is no scar so he couldn't be the kidnapper. Bill suggests that he must have had plastic surgery. Lizzie thinks he's an idiot and tells him to go.
Alan arrives at Cedars looking for a doctor. He runs into Rick before he can get the one of his choice. Rick takes him into the exam room and listens to his chest. "Stick with the cigars, the red meat and stress and you should be dead within a week," Rick says before walking out.
Reva sits in an exam room talking to her sonogram and asking the baby for advice about what she should do. Rick walks in and interrupts her. She needs him to help her with how to be married. Jeffrey seemed to want a different roller coaster ride than the one she is on with him. He advises her to go home and just live her life. She's not sure how to live the rest of her life. As they talk, Alan eavesdrops. Once Rick leaves her alone, Alan sneaks in. "I know how you feel," he tells her. He tells her to take everything she can from this life and leave the next one to the losers. She can't live in a world like that.
Jeffrey goes to Company looking for Reva. He finds Frank instead. They decide to have a drink. When they get a beer, Jeffrey tells him that he feels bad about what's been going on. Frank opens up about how Buzz is searching for revenge. They smash beer cans and Jeffrey admits that Reva is scared and so is he. Frank wonders if he is scared that he might actually be able to look after the child alone.
Jeffrey returns to Cross Creek. Reva arrives a moment later. She tells him about her talk with Alan and how she refuses to be as fatalistic as he is. He tells her to get rid of her tapes. She refuses. He picks up the baby name book and begins reading names.
Frank arrives at the jail and is angry to see Alan with Phillip. Phillip tells Frank to look after his father. Frank runs off. Alan tells his son that he is taking care of Lizzie. "You stole four years from me. You owe me!" Phillip barks as he grabs Alan by the collar.
Lizzie returns to the mansion. When she walks into Alan's office, she finds Buzz sitting there in the dark.
Cyrus goes to see his brother and lectures him for threatening Bill. As they argue, Bill walks in.
