    Debbie returns as Dr. Catherine Avery on the May 3 episode of "Grey's Anatomy."

    Debbie Allen's character, Dr. Catherine Avery, will make her return to Seattle Grace this week on the March 15 episode of "Grey's Anatomy."

    It looks like Jackson's (Jesse Williams) mother, Dr. Catherine Avery is coming back for another guest appearance on "Grey's Anatomy." Debbie Allen tweeted, "Its official, Dr. Catherine Avery will be making her way back to Seattle Grace..."

    Spoiler alert! Jackson's mom, as played by Debbie Allen, is coming to "Grey's Anatomy" to perform surgery. That's right. According to Gather, Jackson's mother arrives at Seattle Grace to perform a penis transplant, which throws the residents into a tizzy as they lobby for the opportunity to assist.

    Actress Debbie Allen ("Fame") has been cast as Jackson Avery's (Jesse Williams) mother, Catherine, on "Grey's Anatomy." Debbie has previously worked behind the scenes on the show, directing three episodes. According to Entertainment Weekly, Debbie's character will appear on the fifth episode of Season 8.
