Kevin McKidd (ABC)

Home for the summer.

In a recent chat with the Daily Record, actor Kevin McKidd (Dr. Owen Hunt, "Grey's Anatomy") talked about returning home to Scotland after taping on the television series wraps up. He said, "We're just finishing the season with "Grey's," then we have three months off and although I've not worked in Scotland in a while, it looks like I'll hopefully have a couple of things coming up soon." Kevin mentioned doing a low budget film for Sigma Films with Andrea Gibb, as well as a project with Richard Jobson.

McKidd also spoke about his hopes for directing an independent film in the summer. As "Grey's Anatomy" viewers know, he directed an episode of the hit series for the first time this year, and reflected on Shonda Rhimes and the producers giving him a shot when he was inexperienced. He shared, "But I think I did a good job and I was delighted to get the opportunity. They have also asked me back to direct a couple of episodes in season eight, which starts later this year."

Do you think it's okay for actors to direct as well? Let know by casting a vote in the snap poll below.
