    A Night Of Neglect.

    Tuesday, April 19 2011
New Directions comes to the aid of another struggling club, Sue creates an unholy alliance, and Holly calls it quits with Will!

At glee club, Will tells the kids that they need to raise $5000 to fund their trip to Nationals. Surprisingly, Artie, Mike, Tina and Brittany reveal that they recently won an academic bowl tournament and are also in need of raising some money. At the suggestion of his girlfriend, Holly Holliday (Gwyneth Paltrow), Will tells the kids that they will hold a "Night of Neglect" fundraiser benefit. The catch is that they must perform songs by neglected artists who have been generally under-appreciated for their musical talent.

Sue calls a meeting with Vocal Adrenaline coach Dustin Goolsby, ex-glee club coach Sandy Ryerson and Will's ex-wife Terri. She says that they all have beef with Will Schuester and need to form a "League of Doom" to bring down Will and the glee kids. Sue gives orders to Dustin that he must break up Will and Holly while Sandy is instructed to start a "heckling club" who'll rattle the glee kids at their benefit. Meanwhile, Sunshine Corazon (Charice) goes to McKinley and tells the glee kids that she wants to be part of their benefit show. She sings "All By Myself" by Celine Dion, and everyone in the group, except Rachel, welcomes her on board.

In the library, Lauren approaches Mercedes and tells her to stop taking the backseat to others. Mercedes decides that she's going to start acting like more of a diva, and Lauren will play the role of her manager. Elsewhere in the school, Emma tells Will that Carl is gone for good. Holly watches from afar as the two educators talk. Later, Holly is approached and hit on by Dustin Goolsby. Will admits to Holly that he feels irritated and jealous by the encounter, while Holly reveals her own jealousy over seeing Will and Emma together earlier on in the day.

On the night of the benefit, Kurt takes Blaine for a tour of McKinley and it's evident that he misses being a part of the school. Karofsky appears and starts to heckle the boys for being gay, but Santana shows up and tells him off. Just as the show is about to start, the gang realizes that Sunshine and her followers have stood them up. Tina takes the stage and sings "I Follow Rivers" by Lykke Li. She is booed by members of Sandy's heckling club, who happen to be the only people in attendance. After Mike performs a solo dance number to Jack Johnson's "Bubbly Toes," diva Mercedes refuses to go on stage.

At intermission, Holly Holliday speaks to members of the heckling club and encourages them to stop picking on the performers. Meanwhile, Rachel talks to Mercedes about Aretha Franklin and says that she earned respect for singing, not acting like a diva. Mercedes questions why Rachel is always in the spotlight, and Rachel admits that Mercedes is a great singer just like her. Rachel then tells Mercedes to get back into the benefit and demand the spotlight. When the show resumes, Holly Holliday takes the stage and sings "Turning Tables" by Adele.

Sue scolds Sandy for not doing his job as a heckler, and tells him that he must kick things up a notch. Backstage, Mercedes tells the group that she's going to perform and everyone needs to watch her. She sings "Ain't No Way" by Aretha Franklin, and everyone, including Sandy, is in awe. In fact, Sandy is so moved by the performance that he decides to fund the academic bowl trip for Artie, Tina, Mike and Brittany. After the show, Holly tells Will that she's accepted a four-month teaching contract in Cleveland. She says that she may settle down someday, but not with Will, since he's in love with Emma. The two part ways in a somber, but amicable manner. In Sue's office, Sue calls upon Will's ex-wife Terri and says that it's her turn to do some damage.

    Mario's Mutterings

I don't mean to sound like a Negative Nancy, but... we waited 5 weeks for THIS? I just wasn't altogether impressed by the aptly-titled "Night of Neglect" episode of "Glee." To me, the songs were downright boring and the storyline left little to the imagination. Honestly, the only part of the show that really had me interested was the final minute where we realize that Will's ex-wife Terri is going to wreak some serious havoc in upcoming episodes. Call me crazy, but Holly's departure from the show was to be expected (though I'm sure she'll be back). Time to get the Will and Emma romance back in full swing!

Sheesh...I'm glad I read this...I still have 1 hour 'til Glee comes on and now I think I'll watch NCIS.

I totally agree, it was sooo boring, even my husband who only watches when he doesn't have anything else to do look at me and said "This Glee sucked!"

There were very few things I actually liked, I hated that stuff with Mercedes. That's totally not her at all and I think Lauren stepped in and made it worse. Yicks!

The only things I liked were the smile Finn got on his face when Rachel said she would help them. Then her realizing that because of her only caring about her fam, that might be the reason why she lost him. Atleast that's what I got from the look she gave him while Mercedes was singing. Also Rachel letting Mercedes' song be the final song. It was sweet. Santan helping Blaine and Kurt showed alot about where she is going to be in the next few episodes and lastly the way Kurt's face lit up being back at his old school, you can tell he loves it there and misses it alot and I think Blaine could see it too.
