Battle Heats Up Between Glee Creator And Kings Of Leon.

    Thursday, January 27 2011

    Nathan Followill (Cohen)
Kings of Leon drummer lashes back at "Glee" creator.

It looks like well enough couldn't be left alone. As reported earlier on Soaps.com, Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy recently started a war of words with rock group Kings of Leon, calling them "a**holes" for not allowing "Glee" to have the rights to the hit song, "Use Somebody." Though it appeared that the band's lead singer had diffused the situation by downplaying the incident, recent comments made by another Kings of Leon band member have added major fuel to the feud's fire.

Nathan Followill, Kings of Leon's drummer, used his personal Twitter account to strike back at the "Glee" creator. Followill tweeted, "Dear Ryan Murphy, let it go. See a therapist, get a manicure, buy a new bra. Zip your lip and focus on educating seven year-olds how to say f*ck."

Upon discovering Followill's tweet, Murphy immediately issued a response through Perez Hilton's blog. "Wow. That's a homophobe badly in need of some education," replied Murphy. "I'm all for manicures, don't wear a bra. Would guess most gay dudes don't. But it's telling that Nathan can reduce a group of people to a mean-spirited cliché, in a time where young gay men are killing themselves all over the country because of hatred like this."

Following the backlash, Followill headed back to his Twitter account, this time to offer an apology. "I'm sorry for anyone that misconstrued my comments as homophobic or misogynistic. I'm so not that kind of person. I really do apologize."

Do you think Nathan Followill's comments were homophobic or misogynistic? Vote in the poll below to let Soaps.com know.
