Though still at the helm of Fox's "Glee," Ryan Murphy will return to his roots at FX, where he was the creator and writer of "Nip/Tuck." Per a press release from the cable station, Murphy and his producing partner Brad Falchuk have received a 13-episode order for "American Horror Story." Production is set to begin on July 27, with the show premiering in October.

"American Horror Story" centers on a family who relocate from Boston to Los Angeles in order to move on from recent painful events. However, they soon discover their house is haunted. The series will star Dylan McDermott, Connie Britton and Jessica Lange.
