Why was Puck absent from this week's "Glee?"
This week's duets-themed episode of "Glee" has caused quite a stir among viewers, and it's not because of the girl-on-girl action between Brittany and Santana! Puck (Mark Salling) was missing from an episode that completely spotlighted the New Directions Glee Club. Following "Duets," an online report claimed that Mark Salling had breached his "Glee" contract by focusing too much of his time on his solo musical career. The result was that his character would be written off to juvie, never to be seen again.
Soaps.com has learned that, although Mark was absent from the "Duets" episode and will also be absent from the upcoming "Rocky Horror" tribute, he has not been let go from "Glee." In fact, sources close to the show say that Mark's Puck character will be back and badder than ever by episode six.
It is not uncommon for series regulars to be given a few episodes off from the show to promote other interests. Last year, Quinn (Dianna Agron) was missing from several episodes while Dianna pursued her movie career.
