Scrimmage---They have been pitting Jax and Sonny against each other since Jax came to PC. Inevitably, they are trying to show that they are two sides of the same coin. I didn't like them pairing up Carly and Jax, because if they were staying true to the characters and their history, they would not be together AT ALL.

I could see Jax entering his marriage with Carly in good faith, believing that his love for Carly was strong and solid and that that he could contain his hatred for Sonny. However, after a series of events, he decided that putting Sonny away at all cost was the best for his marriage, Carly, and the children and began to lie and do other things that undermined his credibility. He went about it all wrong.

lucky - Jax and Sonny being two sides of the same coin, I too had the same thought recently. That would also explain Carly's attraction to Jax. I always thought that Carly married Jax because she wanted some reflected glory, legitimacy and higher social status by being with him.

hera---IA. But I feel like the loyalty to Sonny and Jason undermines all of Carly's relationship. I just can't see how her mind works. She's so wishy washy when it comes to Sonny and Jason. I think her real love is in Jason. No matter what he does, she will defend him to the death.

lucky, it's great to read a fresh perspective from a relatively new viewer.

hera---I see that as well. I also think she really wants to be with someone that values her and loves her beyond all others. She just goes about things wrong, at least from my perspective. To me, she doesn't seem to put her children above all the other things going on in her life. This was the first week we have heard Carly even mention her daughter in weeks. She spends practically all of her time trying to save Sonny.

Again, I say if you agree to take the fall for someone, you gotta be willing to go all the way. Otherwise, what's the point.

I think Carly was right about Jax today, and I understand Carly just wants her sons to have a relationship with their father, partly because it's so important to Sonny to think of himself as a "good father." I just don't agree with her about that.

Frankly, I really don't see how she can forget how she felt after Michael was shot, and how clear it was to her then that it would be best if Sonny was nowhere near ANY of her children. That's the real disconnect for me.

aussie---Thanks! I've been a Jax fan for a long time. It truly made me scratch my head when TIIC decided to pair Jax and Carly. They seem to have taken his character in a direction I did not see coming. It's like all the life has been sucked from this man and his sole mission in life is to take Sonny down. Before, he kept his eye on Sonny while maintaining his own life. I guess that's what happens when you marry the mother of Sonny's children.

Scrimmage---I know! It's like once Michael came out of his coma, all that happened to put him there no longer existed or mattered.

If you are trying to teach your children to be upstanding, honest, trustworthy people, you DO NOT allow them to be around people that could ruin them. I'm sorry but the welfare of my children's mental and physical state trump having a relationship with a father that could potentially get them killed. If my kids decide when they are of legal age that they want to be apart of their father's life then so be it. Until then, their right to grow up free from harm circumvents the father's right to be around them.

Wouldn't it be great if Carly got up on the stand and said "No! It ends here!" and just told the truth about what really happened? That would keep Sonny out of jail (at least for Claudia's murder), and I'm sure Jax could arrange it so Michael wouldn't face anything more than probation and counseling.
