Lucky brings Ethan in, Kristina confides in Jason, Lulu is uncomfortable, and Alexis is guilt-ridden.
Dante finds Olivia by the elevators at the hospital and tells her he understands why she lied to him all those years about Sonny. He apologizes for the awful things he's said to her and says he loves her.
Olivia interrupts Johnny doing some business at his garage and tells him she got her son back. He's happy for her and offers to take care of her for a change. She thanks him and they kiss. Johnny sets up a romantic table for them after they've ordered pizza and then asks her to move in with him, but she thinks they've got a good thing going the way things are. He asks her to think about it and she kisses him.
As the Bauers say a tearful goodbye to their son, Melinda sees Alexis and blames her and Kristina for Kiefer's death. She wants to talk to Kristina to know what made Kiefer go driving off into the night getting himself killed. Alexis weakly says she's sorry, but Melinda isn't consoled by that considering her 'perfect' baby is dead. Warren tells Alexis to go and she does so in tears.
Jason and Sam discuss the Kristina/Kiefer situation in the hospital lobby and Sam blames herself for not realizing Kristina was lying about Ethan. Jason assures her it's not her fault and says Kristina needs her more than ever. Alexis comes upon them and tells them Kiefer didn't make it. Sam goes with her to tell Kristina. Dante finds Jason and learns Kiefer is dead. Dante asks Jason how he can stay loyal to Sonny when he's destroying his kids lives.
Lulu comes to Dante's loft and finds him in low spirits. She offers to listen to whatever is bothering him and he tells her he has finally realized how lucky he is Olivia kept him safe from Sonny's world. He also talks about his siblings, but then wants to change the mood and puts on some Hawaiian music so they can pretend they are in a tropical paradise. However, they talk about Olivia again and Dante notes she had a hard life being a mom so young and mentions she could have taken the easy road and had an abortion. Lulu gets uncomfortable and leaves, despite Dante wanting her to stay. On the elevator, Lulu recalls talking to Luke about her abortion.
Molly tells Kristina what happened to Kiefer in her hospital room and Kristina assumes Jason ran him over. Molly isn't so sure and Kristina cries thinking about Kiefer lying there alone and hurt. Molly reminds her that's how Kiefer left her, but Kristina says it's not the same because Kiefer couldn't control himself, but Jason and Sonny can. Molly counters that it could have been someone who was too scared to stop, like she was when she hit Claudia. Kristina wants to see Kiefer, telling her sister he can be a good guy and he didn't deserve to be run down. Molly says maybe not, but he deserves to be arrested for beating her up. Alexis and Sam walk in and tell Kristina Kiefer's dead. She breaks down in tears saying it's all her fault.
Alexis returns downstairs to find the Bauer's giving a press conference about Kiefer and that they are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of their son's killer. Mac walks up and Alexis blames herself for not seeing the signs of abuse from Kristina earlier. Mac says he second guessed himself with Georgie, but had to accept that bad things happen no matter what. Despite what Kiefer did to Kristina, his heart goes out to the Bauers and he is looking for the driver. Alexis hates Kiefer for what he did, but she didn't wish for this. Mac tells her Kristina is going to need her to assure her this isn't her fault.
Back in Kristina's room, Alexis finds her daughters talking about their feelings regarding Kiefer and Sam offers to take Molly home. Molly hugs Kristina and leaves with Sam, but not before Kristina tells Sam she wants to talk to Jason. Jason visits Kristina who asks if he or Sonny killed Kiefer. Jason says he didn't and doesn't believe Sonny did either. Kristina needs someone who will listen and knows Jason won't sugarcoat things. She confides that she loved Kiefer despite his violent temper. She recalls how he used to try and make things right after he hit her, but now, she's hit, and he's dead, so nothing can make it better.
On the Haunted Star, Lucky tells Luke and Ethan that Ethan's car has been towed and tries to figure out what he hit. Ethan is vague, but wants to get his car back. Lucky thinks if his car is deemed clean by the cops, he's in the clear. Lucky gets a call from Mac about Kiefer's death and then learns the dent in Ethan's car is consistent with that of hitting a person. He tells his brother he has to arrest him again.
Luke fights with Mac at the police station, as Ethan is brought in by Lucky.
Alexis asks Steve to give Kristina some pain medication, but he gets paged away. She sees a TV news program reporting that Ethan has been arrested for killing Kiefer.
