Ring: Sonny didn't "get her pregnant" she got herself pregnant. Yea he had sex with her but, was not making love, trying to create a new life, etc. She planned that on her own. And for Sonny to want to know if he was the father, you can't blame him for that. She was sleeping with Ric and he knew it. When anthony first suggest she marry Sonny, she was all for it, after Jason turned her down. Johnny tried to to talk her out of it, but she was really into being the star of the show. Not that I blame her, finally getting some attention.

poodles - I agree that many fans couldn't relate to Claudia for the reasons you said. I did relate to her, but from a different viewpoint. My father has two daughters - no sons. He has always been our biggest fan and supporter and repeatedly told us that we could do anything we put our mind to and be whatever we wanted to be. Having that kind of unconditional support and love from my father made me feel really bad for Claudia from the start because of how her father treated her. I know I was one of the few, but that's why I always had some sympathy for Claudia. And I agree, in real life, I would have run as far as possible as fast as possible in the other direction if I met someone like her, but on the show she was an intriguing character with a ton of potential.

aussie - I agree that Claudia was not necessarily concerned with Michael's welfare when she called Jerry. She was angry and reacting, just like Sonny was angry and reacting when he went over to the Q's and ripped into Michael about the accident. Sonny had the chance to vent his anger to Michael and then stepped back because it was an accident, etc., etc.. Claudia didn't have that same chance because Michael never went to see her before he ran away. I don't believe for one second that if Michael had gone to see Claudia and apologized for it, that she would have done anything differently than Sonny did. I think Claudia's bond with Michael after he woke up was genuine - maybe fueled out of Claudia's guilt over the shooting, but I think she genuinely liked and cared about Michael. So I don't think that, after the original angry reaction, she would have ever done anything to hurt him. After all, Claudia DID let it go with Kristina when it came out the Krissy caused the accident, not Michael.

My point on the Jerry issue is that people say Claudia sent Jerry to kill Michael and Kristina and that's just accurate. There's no indication Jerry would have ever hurt those two kids in the first place -- use them as a trap to lure Jason and kill him? Sure, that I buy. But kill Jax's stepson and the daughter of a woman he was involved with and (as much as Jerry can) had feelings for? No, I just don't see that being consistent with Jerry's character. And despite the fact that TSW may not feel that consistency is important, it is to me, so if they write stuff that's not consistent (for Jerry, Claudia or any other character for that matter), it's not going to fly with me -- unless there's some later explanation like a mental breakdown or whatever (thinking of Liz's current situation as an example).

Like rans wrote, Sonny kills people as his job. It's not okay in real life, but for a fake mob boss, she doesn't care. I have sort of a similar reaction with the whole "Claudia calls Jerry for help" thing. I think it's so ridiculously out of character for Claudia, that I just dismiss it. They tried to kill each other, they hated each other, Jerry had just been tormenting Claudia with those flippin DVD's hidden all over Sonny's house, which, if Sonny or Jason had found one, would have meant Claudia's death. So why on earth would she call THAT GUY for help? Since I don't buy that Claudia would have ever called Jerry for help, I don't put the blame for anything Jerry later did on Claudia. And since I don't believe that Jerry would have hurt those kids, even if I bought into the idea that Claudia called him for help, I don't think that Michael and Kristina were in any real danger from Jerry, so I don't see that as Claudia trying to harm either kid. I know that others don't see it that way, but that is the way I see it. You're all free to disagree with me, but I thought I would throw it out there as my perspective on the whole thing.

aussie - also, I knew as I was typing the question about it being too much to ask for just a little consistency from the writers that, yes, IT WAS asking too much! LOL

lilmafia - on Jax abandoning the high road in Sonny's trial - Jax has tried the high road for years and the slippery Sonny Corinthos has managed to walk time after time. Maybe Jax finally figured out it's time to fight fire with fire (or outrageous lie with outrageous lie - as the case may be). Not saying it's right, but after years of failed "high road" efforts, perhaps a change in strategy is in order.

rans - We will have to agree to disagree. What I learned in biology class is that a woman cannot "get herself pregnant." I don't disagree that Claudia planned it all and tricked Sonny, but the fact is that if Sonny had kept it in his pants to begin with, it would have never been an issue. Even IF Claudia hadn't tampered with the condoms, they are not 100% effective even in perfect condition. So Sonny knew (or should have known) that there was a chance of a pregnancy every time he had sex with Claudia and he still chose to do it. I don't have a problem with Sonny wanting to know if the baby was his or Ric's, but given that it was AT LEAST a 50/50 chance (if not better) that the baby was his, I don't think Sonny should have been so nasty to Claudia.

I agree with you that after Jason turned her down, Claudia was all for the marriage to Sonny. But I also agree that it was more about finally getting some attention from her father after all those years of abuse and neglect than it was about WANTING to actually marry Sonny. JMO I mean, FINALLY Claudia could do something for her father that Johnny couldn't unless they moved to a state that allows same-sex marriage! LOL

I can't wait until Johnny gets killed. It's going to be sad about Spinelli, but Johnny deserves everything he gets. I'm going to make sure I tape that episode so I can watch it over and over again.
Why hasn't Sonny killed Jax through all these years? I hate that two faced idiot. Carly is so stupid getting back together with him, all he is going to do is hurt her again because of his sick obsession with Sonny. That man is so jealous of Sonny he is trying to get Sonny put in jail for a crime he didn't even commit, just so Carly doesn't go back to him, because he knows she will always love Sonny more than his pathetic self. Sonny is a real man. Jax is just a fraud.

Ring, are you trying to say that Johnny boy is gayer than Peter Pan on Ice Skates?

I liked Dante pushing Ronnie up against the wall. Ronnie deserved a butt kicking. Dante showed some balls. So if the conversation is nature or nurture I guess nature wins!

poodles: OFF TOPIC: have you ever made water balloons for the girls at bath time? My kids LOVED that. You just have to watch that when they bite them they don't get the rubber in their mouths. And trust me, they'll bite them!

Ransom, I think when Dante shoved Ronnie against the wall and grabbed him by the neck was shocking for me as,first of all, he's been playing mister nice guy consistently and suddenly he's in protective mode regarding his kid half brother? And secondly we just witnessed the terrible violence from his father, Sonny. His violent outburst was not only in his office but also in the court house!! So, first we have Sonny and now Dante? That was a lot for one show. Day time drama. Dante has now become unpredictable. Just like his father.

    ttoyou...and you don't like that?

FUBU - no, I am not saying that -- although, both the image from your description AND the idea of Johnny and Sonny married to each other gave me quite a bit of comic relief this AM. If you ask me, if anyone on GH is secretly (or not so secretly) harboring a mega-man-crush on Sonny, it's Jax.
