Storm, LMAO about your comment of wishing Liz would take another walk to the roof top.

Hera, suicide is a tricky thing. Some people suffer from depression and contemplate and even carry out suicide. I hate that anyone gets to the point where they feel there is no hope in their life. I also hate the devastation that is left in the wake of someone who does commit suicide.

But in Liz’s place the predicament she now finds herself in she caused all on her own. Had she killed herself if that is what she was contemplating what would that have done to her boys? You can’t handle the mess you have made of your life so you make things worse by killing yourself and leaving two little boys with no mother. Not to mention her parents, siblings and friends who would have been asking what in the h e l l happened. When did things to get to the point that she thought this was her only way out?

    No offense meant, none taken.

FUBU - I have to say that I find it interesting that you are willing to cut Sonny so much slack for being who he is because of his tragic childhood, yet you say that "the predicament [Liz] now finds herself in she caused all on her own." Liz was (presumably) going to kill herself and I agree that would have been devastating for all those in her life, especially her children. But what about the people that Sonny kills or has killed on his orders? Sonny destroys the lives of those people's loved ones and leaves the children of the people he kills without fathers (assuming that Sonny doesn't kill women, which is debatable). I guess I don't understand the compassion for Sonny but not for Liz, when they are both presumably where they are in their lives because of the traumatic events in their childhoods.

FUBU - IA that every situation is different. the place of suicide varies in different cultures as well. I am not offended and I really appreciate hearing your POV on all matters.

As for Liz, I am not sure if we are going to get a clear picture of Liz's deteriorating emotional state because of Helena's presence in the s/l. It looks like TPTB want to make Liz's stay in SB a kind of horror/mystery story with Helena tormenting Liz.

    ring - fine post.

Ringleader- Thank you for asking FUBU what I was thinking? When it comes to Sonny,I would say 99% of the time we are each other's shadow..

Posted by FUBU at Thursday, February 18 2010 12:40 PM

Ring, I agree that Sonny is not a great person; he has done horrible things and continues to do so. I never said that his past justifies what he does. I said he is not a horrible father.

But let’s be clear, morally I find it wrong to abuse a child in any capacity. However I do understand the world Sonny comes from. When you are out here and it is live or die morals get put on the back burner more often than not.

Yes we all are adults and are responsible for the choices we make. Now here is where it gets really juicy. Had Sonny killed Claudia I would not have had a problem with it in the sense that she hurt his child. Now Nik betraying his brother to me was unforgivable. It’s like a code if you will. Some things are expected or even understood, and some things are not allowed no matter what.

As for cutting him slack I look at him the same way I look at Claudia, Carly, Helena, Jerry Jax, Jason, and Edward Q. he entertains me.

Remember it is all about perception, in my world there are things that are perfectly acceptable whereas in yours you could not even begin to imagine.

As for Liz it’s her butter would not melt in my mouth attitude that she has that makes it hard for me to sympathize with her. Do I think Liz is a bad mother no, but do I questions her actions yes?

Now if Dante never speaks to Sonny again in life I would completely understand it. What I can’t understand is why Olivia has allowed Sonny to breath because lie or no lie, if you shoot a child of mine and I know you did it you can pretty much cancel Christmas.

you all are WAY braver than me posting such person stuff to the cyberworld on a blog!

maybe i am on the wrong site, but i thought this was a soap opera site, and we were to keep off topic's to a minimum? a comment here or there fine, but these are discertations---and they are not about our fav/not so fav characters and story lines.

i don't want to make anyone feel bad, but i have to find another fan site so i wish you all well! take care all!!

    general hospital rocks!
