    Tequila Time!

    Wednesday, October 22 2008
Trevor visits Shadybrook, Jax wants to buy Spoon Island and where else but Jake's for Robin's baby shower?

Tracy can't take Luke's snoring anymore, so she bangs a tray against the jail cell bars to wake him up. He has a massive headache, of course, but she reminds him that it's all his fault. Soon an attractive senorita comes and bails Luke out, leaving Tracy behind. Luke comes back as quickly as he can with bail for Tracy. He explains that he helped the woman out of a bad card game once and she owed him. Skeptical but glad to be free, Tracy leaves with him and heads over to the cantina to wait for word from Edward.

Back at Shadybrook, Lulu sees Johnny's face looking through her door, but when she rushes out into the hall, he's gone. She shouts that she doesn't know what's real or not, so if he's not really there she's really losing it. Worried that she'll be even more confused, Johnny comes out from hiding and says that he doesn't want to interfere with her recovery. He says that he wants her to be happy, even if that means she's without him. As he walks away, Lulu yells for him to come back!

Instead, Maxie and Spinelli come to see her. They have proof that Lulu could not have written the blackmail notes to herself. Spinelli produces a computerized sample of her handwriting and the notes and demonstrates the differences. Lulu lightens up a little at the thought that she's not as far gone as she thought. They brainstorm and try to figure out who would be trying to scare Lulu.

Robin is in full gear at GH today. Liz and Epiphany gently warn her that it's time for her Type A personality to lighten up a little. Robin resents being referred to as a control freak, and then goes to Lainey with ideas on how to treat a patient while she's on maternity leave. Before long, Epiphany informs Robin that the rest of her patients for the day have cancelled, and Robin thinks everyone just wants her to go home and put her feet up. Patrick tells her that he has something in mind and takes her by the hand.

Trevor meets Johnny at The Metro Court and tells him it was a bad idea to go out to Shadybrook. He explains that he's been monitoring Lulu, if only to keep him out of trouble! He points out that he might be on the outs with Anthony, but he can't live forever and Johnny will surely inherit the kingdom.

Over at the free clinic, Nikolas is trying to talk business to Nadine, but she'd rather talk about how casually he's acting after their night of great sex. Leyla is trying to get her to be quiet, but Nadine keeps on talking. She tells Nikolas to keep on doing whatever it is that he does. Nikolas tries, but can't get a word in edgewise.

Carly pops in on Jason and learns that Sonny is about to make a deal with Zacchara to run his organization. Carly is enraged as she points out that Zacchara just wants Sonny to implode! She asks Jason how he plans on stopping it and Jason says that he'll have to give Sonny back his business. He says that he'd like to walk away from it all, but he doesn't want to give Sonny a loaded gun. Carly apologizes for getting him into this whole thing.

Ric joins Claudia at her table at The Metro Court, but she's in no mood for chitchat. She tells him that since he is tight with her father, he betrayed her by not warning her about the old man's scheme. Ric doesn't know what she's talking about, so she tells him that Anthony wants her to marry Sonny. Before Ric can respond, Claudia says that Sonny will use her to get his power back and she might as well use him too. Ric tells her that they have a good thing going between them and she shouldn't blow it!

Patrick brings Robin in to Jake's and all of her friends are there for a surprise bridal/baby shower. Lainey, Kelly, Liz, Epiphany, Nadine and Coleman all have margaritas, but give her a 'virgin' one. Coleman makes a crack about a pregnant virgin, while Liz gives a lovely toast. Then they do a 'lick it, slam it, suck it' for old time sake with tequila shots.

Jax is in debonair businessman mode over at The Metro Court. He's meeting with a female broker about buying Spoon Island out from under Nikolas. Carly spots him from across the room as she offers Nikolas some papers to sign. She tells him that Jax is up to something.

Trevor has gone out to Shadybrook, but he's stopped by a guard for not signing in. Maxie and Spinelli are on their way out when they see him. They hide so that they can see what he's up to.

Jason is in a tizzy in his office when Claudia shows up. She insists that he hear her out, but he says that he already knows about Anthony's offer to Sonny. Claudia tells him that the deal has to go through her first. Suddenly, she has Jason's attention.

    Next on General Hospital:

Scott harasses Lulu for killing his son.

Laura reacts like a mama bear to her cub in danger.

Claudia offers Jason a clever twist in Anthony's plot.

Olivia fears that Sonny will marry Claudia.

Sonny learns that Olivia has a son.

Luke tells Tracy how he feels about her.

I wish that either Leyla or Nokolas would have put a muzzle over that Dim-Wit Nadine's mouth to shut her up for once I just don't see what Nikolas sees in her.As usual loved the scenes with Luke and Tracy.I don't understand why Lulu needs for other people to show her something she should already it me but shouldn't you be able to recognize your own handwriting or not?For her and Lucky to be Luke and Laura's kids they sure are pretty dumb but that is JMO.

The Nadine character is like the Amy Vinning character of long ago. I think someone else had noticed that befor. She is weird but harmless. Think Claudia has the perfect solution to all the mob business....should be an interesting twist. LuLu doesn't trust herself right now...thats why she doubts her sanity...

Is the character Amy Vinning Laura's sister if so I could deal with her she was just noisy but Nadine is annoying and childish and I could think of a few more things but I don't have the time or energy to post it all.

After 10 minutes of today's episode, I switched off and found a book to read. The writers need to get together withe some of the viewers and find out just what is wrong with the show today. It is BORING!

Thank you estralita for your wonderful post yesterday, and thank you susie1000, genhospchat, lovejsam and all others who commented on my post regarding the downgrading of marriage sending the wrong message to young people. Repeated viewing of the wrong messages is brainwashing. Our children need to learn that marriage is supposed to be for life and that children need to be raised in a stable home, so that they feel secure and learn to raise their own children the same way.

I realise that this is a soap, and a fantasy, but just like bodice rippers can give the wrong idea about love and romance to the young and impressionable, we have to remember that a lot of viewers are exactly that: young and impressionable. We need mature couples who have been happily married for 20-30 years to balance things. Those who remember the old days can think of a few stable relationships. OK, sometimes they had their ups and downs but they always put their marriage vows first and stayed together and made it work. We do get the occasional mention of the grandparents when a baby sitter is needed, but the writers wrongly killed off most of the older folks. When passion dies, a couple grow together through time and shared experience. I once commented to a friend after seeing a film with Tom Cruise and chubby Timothy Spall, that she could have Tom Cruise and I would take Timothy Spall, as he looked as if he would still be there for me when I grew old and lost my looks. Remember when Spinelli told Maxie that the girl he loved would capture his heart and soul forever. That is REAL love, not instant lust.

It may be argued that if people do not accept this as a fantasy, then they should not be watching, but the show is on network TV in the late afternoon when the children come home from school. Of course they are going to tune in.

British TV has soap operas featuring ordinary working class folk with everyday concerns - job loss, homes being condemned for a new development, children not doing well at school, they have to get to work and the car won't start, etc. Few of them are glamorous and even fewer are rich. These soaps have run for 30-40 years and more, and are beloved institutions as the viewers can see themselves in the characters.

Characters who murder, commit adultery or otherwise commit the seven deadly sins and break the ten commandments need to be seen to face punishment. I am not a religious person, but I do believe in morality, values and responsibility for one's actions.

Nadine: todays antics even made me uncomfortable. Glad that Nikolas didn't sink to your juvenile level. Nik, head for that exit & don't look back.

Trevor is the one leaving Lulu notes? Hmmm, I guess he has to do something since Ric has become Anthony's right hand man.

Ric was pretty calm when Claudia told him about the proposal. Wonder if he will do anything about it.

The whole Jax/Nikolas competition is putting me to asleep. Also tired with the Jax & Carly making each other jealous. Move on!

Tomorrow should be a worthy episode. Take Care.

I still think that it is Scott who is leaving Lulu those notes, guess we will find out soon enough.

Awwwwwwwwwwww, I enjoyed Scrubs and their baby shower today.

And I know some hate Scrubs, find them boring, blah, blah, blah but I like that they are a stable relationship on GH and are going through moments that couples should on a soap. Someone mentioned just ordinary things for couples and here Scrube are getting married, enjoying a child's birth with no drama, having a shower with friends and family, etc.

I appreciate everything Scrubs is getting right now.

Posted by genhospchat at Wednesday, October 22 2008 03:03 PM

ScrubsAllTheWay: Funny you say that Scrubs has not had drama throughout her pregnancy...the WHOLE pregnancy, up until last week was about drama. Will she tell Patrick, she doesn't want Patrick involved, Robin KNOWS Patrick will bail, Robin pushing Patrick away, Robin complaining of things in her second month that don't happen until your sixth month and hearing this DAY AFTER DAY, BOTH announcing their lives over the PA system in a hospital, I can't marry you, I now want to marry you and you don't, etc. I know it's not violent drama but YES the WHOLE pregnancy has been drama. This is the ONLY time I have actually ENJOYED the pregnancy storyline because we no longer hear Robin whining or complaining about anything and just allowing things to happen.

Posted by genhospchat at Wednesday, October 22 2008 03:05 PM

How come Anna and Maxie weren't at the shower? Was that just for hospital staff? Even though they had a bad past, they got over it, made amends and Leyla should have been there as well.

Hey Scrubsalltheway! Do you watch Night Shift? Scrubs have a WAY better role there than they do here. LOVE them!

Cynic - I do agree with what you are saying, so much of TV and Movies is about glamourizing the act of cheating on your spouse. They write it so you are almost chearing when the people finally get together - irregardless of the fact they have commitments and relationships elsewhere. As for getting away with murder etc - well Soaps really do not write their law enforcement agencies as effective or efficient. They don't solve cases - they just bully people (like Lucky vs. Johnny in every hallway in PC) and sneak's sad, it's unrealistic - and it happens in EVERY Soap I swear.
