Madam Foreperson.

Monday, September 15 2008
Epiphany is in charge of the jury, Jax blows Carly off, Sonny asks Kate to marry him, Johnny gets a surprise, Jerry and Sam have dinner, and Jason and Elizabeth connect.

Carly comes to the hospital after receiving a message that Jax got hurt in a climbing accident. Leyla tells her that Jax damaged the tendon in his hand, but it’s not too serious. Jerry walks off the elevator and tells Carly he’s there to pick up Jax. They talk about Jax's accident and how reckless he was being on his climb. Jerry says it’s not like him, but since Carly and Jax broke up, he hardly recognizes his brother. The two sit and talk about Jax and his past relationships. Jerry tells her that Jax was different with Carly than with his other marriages. Jerry seems to be understanding about Carly’s night with Sonny, saying she doesn’t trust happiness so she destroys what she loves most. Carly thinks maybe if she is the one Jax has been waiting for it’s not over. Jax comes out smiling and laughing with Leyla and sees Carly. His demeanor changes as Carly approaches him to talk. Jax brushes her off saying Jerry will drive him home. Carly wants to talk to him, but Jax says he’s only concerned about Morgan, asking if she told him they were breaking up yet. She says she took him to the shore for a few days so she could think. Jax says that's her choice and leaves.

Sonny asks Kate if she’s forgiven him. Kate says she does love him and could believe that he would never be with Carly again, but she doesn’t exactly trust Carly. Sonny threatens to break the mirror behind her if she does not agree to marry him. Kate doesn't appreciate him playing on her superstitions and tells him that she doesn’t want to get hurt again. Sonny tells her all she has to do is believe him, but Kate yells that it’s not that easy. Sonny challenges her to break the mirror herself and if she does, he will believe that they are over and he will leave her alone. Kate tries, but she can’t do it. She starts to cry and calls herself a fool. Sonny says she’s the woman he loves and that she’s just following her heart. He tears up as he tells her he wants to marry her and asks if she will. Kate just gives him a slow smile.

In her hospital room, Lulu tells Nikolas if Johnny is convicted she will lose her mind. Nikolas recounts what Claudia said on the witness stand and Lulu isn’t sure the jury will believe her because she is unsympathetic. Nikolas says Claudia loves her brother and sometimes love gives you power you aren’t even aware of.

At his place, Jason tells Elizabeth that the two of them are going nowhere. Elizabeth responds, “I don’t expect it to,” but she wonders if he could open up to her like he did before. Jason tells her he’s too dangerous, but Elizabeth isn’t afraid. Jason says if anything happened to her, he couldn’t take it, but she can’t take not being with him. Elizabeth says it’s up to her to decide when she should walk away, but Jason doesn’t think Elizabeth realizes what she’d be dealing with. Liz needs to know if he feels the same way she does or if she’s crazy. Jason says she’s not crazy, as he runs to her and pulls her into a passionate kiss. Jason carries Liz to his bedroom and they continue to get intimate.

At the police station, Johnny thanks his sister for what she said on the stand. Talk turns to when they were kids and how they trashed Trevor’s car. They laugh and joke, but then Ric comes in and puts a damper on their positive mood. He says Claudia was very convincing and asks how much of the story was true, pointing out the best lies usually have some truth to them.

Anthony and Trevor discus what Claudia said in court and Anthony says their plant on the jury should have an easier time swaying the rest of the jurors to their side now. Trevor points out that Claudia has always had a strange connection to Johnny and how she has never had another man in her life. Anthony wonders if the jury will believe Lulu and Trevor dismisses her as being crazy, but says John’s best bet is on that jury.

In the jury room, Epiphany is chosen as the foreperson. The jurors debate the case and the elderly woman, Mrs. Albright, comes out as the strongest in Johnny’s defense saying all Johnny did was protect his sister. The jurors then mill about talking amongst each other while on break. Edward and the juror who flirts with Epiphany discuss the merits of the designated hitter in baseball, but Mrs. Albright tries to sway other jurors to acquit Johnny, which is against the rules and which Epiphany overhears. Epiphany tells Edward and the other juror about Mrs. Albright, as the senior citizen goes into the hallway. She gets on her cell phone, telling whoever is on the other end that she has already turned two jurors and is making progress on two more. Epiphany, Edward and the other juror catch her and Epiphany gets on the phone. She says, “Anthony Zacchara, you are so busted!”

Lucky and Sam wake up on the couch and Sam says she needs to get ready for her dinner with Jerry. Lucky knows why she has to do this, but isn’t pleased. They debate Sam’s plan and she says once it’s done they can celebrate by waking up in bed every morning together. As they kiss, someone knocks on the door.

Lucky hides and Jerry enters with flowers and wine for Sam. Jerry and Sam drink and engage in flirtatious banter and then talk turns to Alexis. Jerry says, “We both know why you invited me here," calling her the anti-Alexis. She says she craves danger and brings up working for Karpov and how she has international connections, legal and otherwise. Jerry asks if it’s a proposition and then violently grabs her throat. He says, “It occurs to me, Sweet Sam, that you are being too friendly.”

Lulu goes to see her mother who is sleeping. Lulu panics thinking she slipped away again, but Laura wakes up saying she was just resting. Lulu wants Lucky and Nikolas to know she is back, but Laura doesn’t want them to know unless they are sure she’s back permanently. Lulu leaves so her mother can rest and then encounters Lucky who has come to her room. They discuss what happened in court and Lucky apologizes for not being there. However, he tells his sister that he hasn’t been fighting her; he’s been fighting for her.

Spinelli comes home to a seemingly empty house and Carly comes over to see Jason. She is clearly distraught and Spinelli asks if he can help. Carly asks if he can use his computer to erase her past and get her husband back. Spinelli offers her a refreshment while she waits for Stone Cold, but she just wants to go upstairs to wash her face. She runs upstairs and barges in on Jason and Elizabeth making out on the bed.

Alone in the interrogation room, Claudia comes on to Ric. Johnny returns and interrupts them. Ric hands Johnny the phone, which has Lulu on the other end. She apologizes for making a mess of things, but Johnny says all that matters is that she’s okay.

Nadine finds Matt in the flames at the clinic and calls for help. Things fall down around them, as Nadine coughs and passes out. As the flames engulf the clinic, Nikolas walks by and enters. He goes to the room where Nadine and Matt are, but can’t open the door. He starts to break down the door yelling out for Nadine.

Next on General Hospital:

The jury comes in with Johnny's verdict.

Elizabeth leaves Jason so that he can take care of Carly.

Kate decides to go ahead with the wedding.

Spinelli helps Carly as only he can.

Claudia and Ric come to the conclusion that they are a good team.

Sam talks her way out of sleeping with Jerry without tipping him off.

Nikolas rescues Nadine and Matt from the clinic fire.
