Sonny makes demands and barely makes a ripple, Spinelli is crushed by Sonny's cruelty and Mike talks to Kate about his son's addiction.
Maxie is caught by surprise by Spinelli and demands to know what he's doing! Just then, Kate returns to her office and asks what's going on. Spinelli spastically tries to explain, but she kicks them both out of her office. As soon as the door closes behind them, Maxie tells Spinelli that he is a genius and plants a kiss on him. Then she says that she was totally about to get busted for looking at designs but his quick thinking saved her job. Kate comes out and demands an explanation. Spinelli takes full blame and Kate tells him that he is banned from this office until he can get his urges under control. He obeys promptly and as soon as he's gone, Maxie asks Kate how she could be so rough on him?
Out at Wyndemere, Claudia walks in on Johnny and Nik discussing her. She fills Johnny in on how she ended up at Nikolas's house for so many days recovering from an attack. Johnny assumes that their father was involved but she tells him that she doesn't think so. Johnny tables that discussion and thanks Nik for taking care of his sister. Then he tells him to stay away from her! Claudia tells Johnny that Lulu walked in on them and jumped to the wrong conclusion. She tells Johnny to leave so she can talk to Nikolas about something. After he's gone, Nik assumes that Claudia wants him to keep her secret about Michael but she quickly corrects him. "I want to talk about your sister's big, fat mouth."
As Claudia and Nik talk, Lulu shows up and demands that Claudia leaves right away. Claudia says that she needs to go anyway but she and Nikolas will talk about her mouth. She asks Nik to call her and leaves. Lulu goes off on him and he says that what he does is his business, but for the record he will always be in love with Emily.
Carly and Jax are on their couch together. Carly tells him that she loves the charm for Michael and that she can look at it and think of him. Then she gets to the matter at hand - having another baby. She says that she understands why he'd like a child of his own but she's not sure if she'll ever be ready for that.
Leyla and Nadine are chatting at the GH nurses's desk. Leyla tells Nadine that she's a bridesmaid in a wedding tonight and that her mother insisted that Dr. Leo would be the perfect date because he's a Persian and a doctor. Nadine adds that he's hot but Leyla says that he's probably even more trouble that Patrick ever was and that she's staying away from doctors! He is, however, escorting her to the wedding but just to please her mother.
As Leyla and Nadine talk, Sonny gets off the elevator with Mike who has been badly beaten. He insists that his father is cared for right away and then gives Kate's name to call. He leaves to go find whoever did this to Mike.
Liz is about to go on her break when Sam asks if they can talk. She gingerly admits that they have never been friendly and that she is largely responsible for that. Liz listens as Sam says that she would love to be able to at least be in the same room with Cam and Jake when Lucky has them. She says that maybe Spinelli could hook up an ankle monitor or she could have supervised visits at first. Liz laughs and says that she'd like to think she's not that judgmental, but she has been in the past and apologizes for it. Liz says that in time she can allow it, but for now she doesn't want Cam confused. Sam understands and says, "How can his dad be with me when he obviously still loves you?" They sit and talk for a while and Sam gets into how kind and wonderful Lucky is and how good he feels for her. She tells Liz that if she wanted him back she knows he would reconcile. Liz says that she will always love him, but just wants to see him happy. She tells Sam that Lucky is happy with her and maybe they can set a date with the kids for the carnival in the park or something.
Sonny has demanded that the loan shark who had Mike beat up meet him at the waterfront. When he arrives, Sonny asserts that no one lays a hand on his father. The loan shark reminds Sonny that he is retired and doesn't get favors any more. As he speaks, his thugs appear and stare at Sonny for daring to speak that way to their boss. They call him an "empty suit" and demand that Sonny pay his old man's debt. Sonny refuses to pay and they tell him that tomorrow the interest goes up.
Spinelli barges into Jason's office and "begs an audience." Jason hangs up the phone and gives him a minute. Spinelli excitedly tells him about Diane's advice and that he followed it to the letter. Jason tells him that he can't force himself on a woman. Spinelli says that he was only following Diane's advice but all Maxie could think that it was a clever cover to keep her out of trouble at work. Jason doesn't see how he can help and Spinelli asks him to intervene with Sonny and Kate so they will lift the ban on him. Just then, Sonny comes in and Spinelli starts to plea his own case. Tight-lipped, Sonny tells "freak boy" to get out of his face. No matter how hard Spinelli tries to talk, Sonny calls him "freak boy" until Spinelli practically cries on his way out the door. Sonny tells Jason to fire the freak and focus on business. Jason tells Sonny that his behavior with Spinelli was uncalled for and that he can't come into his office and tell him what to do. "What do you mean your office?" Sonny asks. He tells Jason what happened to Mike and that he wants him to run Sullivan (the loan shark) out of town. Jason says that's not his call to make anymore.
Back at GH, Nadine is happy to see that she has a message to go out to Wyndemere to see Nik. Then she hands Leyla a message, too. It turns out that Leo is stuck in surgery and can't take her to the wedding.
Kate gets off the elevator and sits with Mike in the lobby. He explains that his loan shark used to float him money because he was afraid of Sonny, but now what will happen? He worries that Sonny's addiction is power and he may never adjust to a normal life.
Claudia finds Johnny in the garden shed and he admits that this is where he and Lulu meet. She recalls the way they used to play down here to get away from their father. Johnny tells her that she has always been a good sister and he can't stand the thought of Nikolas using her. Claudia turns the conversation to what a miserable witch Lulu is and Johnny says, "Dare I show you a mirror?"
Carly is in bed looking at her "Michael" charm and crying. Jax comes to bed and immediately holds her and lets her cry. Eventually she shares some stories about Michael when he was little and Jax recalls some of their funnier times together as a family. It doesn't take long for Carly to laugh through her tears and, ultimately, love through them.
