    GH Recap: Something To Lose.

    Friday, May 16 2014
Julian tries to quit, Nikolas makes a move on Liz, and Lulu has an idea.

At Kelly's, Duke tells Sonny that Jerome's operation will be going down tonight. Shawn joins them and the boss fills him in. Shawn thinks Sonny made the wrong call by going to the cops and accuses him of being as bad as Julian. Sonny is sure this is the only way for them to survive. He heads off. Shawn blames all of this on Duke and tells him that TJ is about to lose his mother. Duke reminds him of all the damage that Julian has done and warns him not to warn Jordan about what's coming.

TJ arrives at the gallery and catches his mom discussing a drug deal on the phone. He quizzes her and she says she's just importing some vases from Columbia. TJ buys that and he's sure she wouldn't have anything to do with drugs again. They hug. Once he leaves, Shawn shows up.

At Alexis', Julian tears himself away from her and says he'll see her later. She apologizes for asking him to leave his boss. They kiss and he heads off. She calls Ric over and asks him to let Julian out of the business. Ric insists he is not Julian's boss. She doesn't buy it and begs. He repeats himself and explains that Liz is giving him another chance. Alexis makes him swear on Molly's life that he's not a mob boss. He does so she finally believes him.

Luke is on the docks. Tracy calls him but he reschedules their lunch. Julian shows up and informs him that he's quitting. That doesn't go over well and makes no sense to Luke. "Now I've got something to lose," Julian explains. He rationalizes things and insists it's time for him to go legit. Luke reminds him that all of his legitimate businesses were started with mob money and he still needs them to launder his money. Julian is adamant. Luke tells him there will be consequences if he tries to walk away. They exchange threats until they finally shake and wish each other good luck. "You're going to need it," Luke mumbles as Julian walks away.

Luke heads to Alexis' with his gun.

At their place, Lulu tells Dante she wants to carry their baby. He reminds her that that's not an option. She has her doubts and explains that there are surgeries she can have. The cop thinks it's too risky and a surrogate would be the safest bet. She's not so sure. He gets a call from Anna and has to head to work. Once he's gone, she calls for a consultation appointment.

Nikolas tracks Liz down at the hospital. She informs him that she's moving out of Wyndemere. He suspects there's something going on. The nurse explains it's Ric. They're giving things another shot. The prince thinks she's making a huge mistake. He lists Ric's flaws but she claims that what she had with him was real and could be again. Nikolas kisses her. She pushes him away. They bicker and she reminds him that he picked Britt. "There's never going to be an us," she says, explaining that the timing will never be right for them. She's choosing Ric. He thinks she's just afraid. She repeats herself and walks out, running into Ric in the hall. They leave together.

So Julian threatened Morgan with the death of his mother if he tried to quit and now Luke is giving Julian the same threats. Gotta love that.
The funny thing is, if Julian does go straight, Alexis would grown tired of him in a NY minute. She likes bad boys, Jerry, Sonny, Julian, Shawn. The good guys like Mac and Ned never had a chance.

Really Liz? RUN NIC RUN......if she wants Ric let her have the loser.

Again I say, DUKE IS THE MAN.....he has a feel for this life.

Poor TJ, his mom is a dud......

Julian is one big fool. Estupido! He tells 'Luke' that he wants to get out of the business because of Alexis and her family, thereby putting a bulls eye on their backs. Julian deserves one through the head for being so darned careless and putting their lives at risk.

    “Hello, Natasha.”

Huh? THAT'S a Friday cliffhanger? During SWEEPS? WTF?

If Alexis gets herself or Ick killed, she only has herself to blame. She's lucky that Ric WASN'T Ick's backer, because frankly, I doubt if Ick would appreciate her going behind his back, or perhaps over his head to try to make changes in his life. Heck, she apologized for coming on too strong just for broaching the subject, and yet the second he's out the door, she starts actively interfering in his life. If Ric was the backer, he'd have had to kill them both too, just like Fluke knows he has to get rid of Ick, and probably Alexis too, since he can't be sure how much Ick's told her. She SONNY'S LAWYER for cryin' out loud! The mere fact that she knows Ick even HAS a backer, and that she's sleeping with him is enough reason for Fluke to want her dead.

Lulu is another one of the woman on this show who consistently make unilateral, life changing decisions without giving any REAL consideration to the opinions and feelings of their significant others, even in matters that concern them both equally. This idiotic idea that she wants to carry the baby herself is probably the most selfish thing she's ever done. When she was explaining her reasons to Dante, I lost track of how many times she said “I” or “me.” It's all about Lulu, and she's obviously already made up her mind to do it. As far as she's concerned, this is going to happen whether Dante objects or not, just like the way Robin made up her mind without Patrick's input to go thaw out Jason.

Elizabeth renews her membership in that club with her one sided decision on what is “for the best” for Nikolas as far as their relationship goes, or apparently ANY relationship he's involved in. Even though I agree with her logic about Nik, she didn't need to jump into an ill-advised relationship with Ric just to avoid being Nikolas' “rebound” girl. She talked about “bad timing” when SHE'S the one who's always changing the rules in the middle of the game. I call the one Liz is playing “C'mere, c'mere, c'mere ... g'way, g'way, g'way.”

Elizabeth is the classic “Green Grass Girl.” She's never satisfied with what she has, and she's always looking for something better on the other side of the fence, instead of appreciating what she has right in her own back yard. Just a couple of weeks ago, when she was free, and DESPERATE to break up Nikolas and Britt, she was telling him “I've never stopped loving you,” and now she's saying “There will never BE an US.” Are you KIDDING me? She won't be happy with Ric, either, and we all know it.

Walk away, Nikolas. It's not worth the aggravation to endure the mind games Elizabeth plays with herself and with everybody else. If she wants Ric, he's welcome to her.

Kinky's no better than Alexis, Lulu, Robin, and Elizabeth, as far as manipulating the man in her life, only in Kinky's case, she has taken it upon herself to decide what Michael needs to know, and when he needs to know it, as well as telling him how he's supposed to feel about everything. The way she treats him, you'd think he couldn't even dress or feed himself before she came along. HELLO! If it wasn't for Kinky and her mommy, Michael wouldn't have just buried his father, and the two of them would've been running ELQ together for the past year. Oh, yeah! Kinky has changed Michael's life all right. Just not for the better.

He would've had MUCH more fun with Brenda!

Shawn is the worst mob enforcer/hit man/right hand man ever!!! Robin hurry up and thaw out

Love me some cool hand Duke!!

Are we really going through this again with Nik/Liz...just don't have Nik go back to Brit. He deserves somebody new and my money is on Nina...

So today was the first time I heard a reference to the fact that Fluke is not Luke. Julian said something to Fluke that he knew (Fluke's) real identity. So I guess Luke is still at the funny farm. Who is this person??

I feel that's if Lulu wants to explore the possibility of being able to carry her own child to term, she should do it. She is the one that would have to undergo corrective surgery, she is the one carrying the baby and possibly spending months on bed rest to carry to term. Maybe after she explores all the possibilities she can make a decision on whether they want to risk their only chance at a sibling for Rocco by going that route. To condemn her as being selfish for wanting to find out if it's possible, I think is a bit harsh. They never checked into it after DR V told them it wasn't possible, which was wrong. It was done to further the surrogate story line. There is plenty of information on Lulu's condition on line and it is considerably more hopeful than what was presented. Also, it's quite possible that in time Lulu may start producing eggs again. Usually when couples quit trying to have a child is when they end up pregnant.
