    GH Recap: Cotton Candy Confection.

    Thursday, May 08 2014
Port Charles couples walk the red carpet, the 2014 Nurses’ Ball begins, and Liesl hijacks the show.

Shawn and Sonny meet at the office before the gala. Shawn tells Sonny that Jordan is joining their table for TJ’s sake. Sonny isn’t going, but Shawn encourages Sonny to go and fight for Olivia.

At home, Nathan asks Maxie if she’s having second thoughts about coming but she insists it’s her decision to stay home. She’s just happy to spend a night alone with Levi eating raw kale.

At Wyndemere, Spencer asks his dad to invite Britt over but Nik tells him they’re through for good. Spencer assumes Nik will then marry Elizabeth but Nik tells him that’s ridiculous. Elizabeth enters, dressed to the nines. Nik compliments her and offers to have his driver bring her home but Ric is picking them up. Nik hopes she has a good time and Liz tells him he can still come along. Nik declines - galas have left a bad taste in his mouth. Meanwhile, Cameron needles Spencer about his boring evening home with Nik before leaving with Elizabeth. Later, Nik orders pizza and Spencer thinks about what Cameron said.

Lucy scrambles to get dressed backstage at the ball. Felicia enters, accessorized with an Aztec heirloom she only wears on special occasions. Felicia asks Lucy if things are over with Scott and Lucy says they are, though she misses him. She’s just glad Kevin didn’t find out. Kevin overhears. Felicia covers and tells him Lucy is planning a surprise number dedicated to him. He’s excited to see it and after he leaves Lucy freaks – she has no routine. Felicia is sure she’ll think of something. Outside, the red carpet coverage is underway. Olivia is questioned before she’s ready about whether Sonny will escort her, so she excuses herself as guests begin to arrive. Sam enters with Silas, and trips and falls. Silas assures her no one is watching but Sam knows better. Alexis and Julian are next and they are officially a couple in the public eye. Next up, TJ and Molly, followed by Shawn and Jordan. Tracy and fiancé Luke are next. Michael and Kiki enter with Ned, who has to hold Michael back from attacking Luke. They have a plan and it’s going down tonight. Olivia grabs Ned to walk with her and the host asks if there is trouble in paradise with Sonny. Sonny enters and Olivia spars with him on camera. Dante and Lulu quickly escort Sonny and Olivia inside. Next, Felix and Lucas both arrive stag and decide to walk the carpet together. Liz arrives with Ric, followed by Anna and Duke, who is in a full Scottish kilt. Epiphany and Nathan walk together, then Felicia, Mac, and Mr. Marbles. Felicia is questioned about the Aztec jewels before Lucy appears with Kevin. Scott and Bobbie are next, and Scott and Lucy lock eyes. Kevin is glad to see Scott is moving on from Laura and wishes him and Bobbie a good night. Kevin can tell Lucy is rattled but hopes she wants Scott to be happy. Inside, Epiphany gets ready while Nathan breaks the news to Felicia and Mac that Maxie isn’t coming. Meanwhile, Cameron texts Spencer and Emma hopes he isn’t taunting him. She only dumped Spencer because he was mean and hopes Cameron is nice. Later, Olivia tells Dante that Sonny is a two-timing low life. Lulu runs after her while Dante asks Sonny if he cheated on his mother. Sonny tells him it meant nothing. Dante can’t believe Sonny broke Olivia’s heart for nothing, then joins Lulu and Olivia at their table as the ball begins. Lucy takes the stage and welcomes everyone to the 20th anniversary of the ball. She introduces the first act, the General Hospital nurses with Epiphany, Liz and Felix front and center. Liesl interrupts with a sexy cabaret routine, compete with nurses in lingerie.

Britt watches the ball coverage at Brad’s place, wallowing in ice cream. At first Brad is offended she would assume he wants to watch with her but quickly gets into it, laughing when Sam bites it, rewinding it over and over. Brad even makes a gif. They briefly turn it off when Dante and Lulu arrive, then click it back on in time to see Lucas and Felix enter. Later, they are floored by Liesl’s performance.

Back at Wyndemere, Spencer suggests he and Nik get dressed and go.

Back at home, Levi catches Maxie watching the red carpet and turns it off for her own good. He wants her to think about all the money that would be better off donated to the charity directly. She understands, which is why she’ll only watch for 10 minutes. Later, they eat their kale and he asks her to be honest about the red carpet. She admits she loves it and he suggests they go to the ball.

The 50th was special but I am not looking forward to this years show. I
just hope Richard Simmons does not decide to pop out of the cake with Dr.
Oheck hand-n-hand. I am sick and tired of having to see the ditzy sisters
airhead Lucy and clueless Felicia. It is like watching a unfunny Lucy and
Ethel doing schtick! Mr. Marble and Mac has more talent. Maxie is her
mothers daughter as soon as she opens that mouth. I surprised that busted
and disgusted leecherous Levi is still wasting screen time. You have the
beautiful people walking the red carpet and all the losers watching on
tv at home Eating pizza and ice cream. Mac decided to bring his dummy with
him and Mr. Marbles too! Alfalfa needs to go to the ball and fight Spanky
    for Darlas hand

    SHAWN....YUM YUM......with Nat a close second.

Liz's dress looked fabulous on her.
Olivia and Anna also looked great.

    And of course Mr. Marbles.

Dr.O's opening was way more entertaining then the other one.

    Sam falling was random.

    Good start.

To have a newbie like the Doktor steal the spotlight from the nurses' opening act was in poor taste. While it is obvious that that the Frau Dok has great talent, to give her such a plum spot was wrong. I wonder how the other cast members feel about the manner in which this writing team is changing this show, like spotlighting newbies, while minimizing air-time of the regulars. Something about this song and dance act this reminded me of the scene in Blazing Saddles, with Lili Von Schtupp. I want less Lisel and more regs, thank you very much.

Yoplait Greek Yogurt presents the 2014 Nurse's Ball
also Metro Court and Corinthos Coffee were sponsors of this gala.

HIGHLIGHT: watching Liesl Obrecht's opening number. It was enjoyable. Even though no one likes her they could have coughed it up and clapped as this was on t.v.

Little Spencer is too funny. I love that little boy. Sitting there in his Batman Pajamas eating pizza with his dad just like Cameron said he would.

And what can I say about Obrect. Loved her routine. She is a funny kind of evil.

And Shawn sure did look handsome. That's one fine looking man.

When I heard that Ronn Moss was coming to the show I wondered if he will be playing the role of Noah Drake. Not sure if this has been discussed or not.

Liz's red sparkle dress looked stunning on her.
The dress Felicia wore suited her.
Had to laugh when Sam tripped on the Red Carpet. Silas looked handsome. Sam did look pretty.
Brad and Britt were funny on the bed watching and eating yogurt as they were commenting as people walked on the Red Carpet.
Alexis and Julian..odd couple but looked nice.
TJ and Molly looked nice also.
Jordan's dress was to reveiling but Shawn looked wow..handsome.

I thoroughly enjoyed Liesl's hostile take over. LMAO

Enjoyed the fashions, Liz rocked that backless red gown.

    Kiki looked great to.

    Nathan and Shawn, simply yummy.

Liked them all was least impressed with Julian/Alexis and Lucy's red carpet gown, but it's a matter of different tastes and they all looked great.

I read many posts that don't particularly like the kid angle. Personally I enjoy it, that little Spencer is a great actor for a child his age, the Spencer/Emma/Cameron thing is cute, even my hubs who claims he "hates" soaps, was laughing at Spencer telling Nicholas about Cam/Emma doing the tango, "the dance of love".

I was laughing at Spencer today remembering what Cam had told him about being home eating pizza in his bat man P.J.'s with his dad.

So Spencer is talking daddy into going to the ball, thank you Spencer, lol, and Brad is talking to Britt about going to the ball, guess Nicholas and Britt will meet up at some point at the ball.

Can't wait to see what surprises are ahead.

and of course the one and a two and booty shake to look forward to.

Maxie dump that Levi, personally I can't stand him.

How stupid can Kevin be, that he doesn't notice the tension between Scott/Lucy, especially Lucy, she keeps flipping out and it was so obvious she was jealous of Scott being there with Bobbi. I don't get Lucy she made her choice her hubs, so what does she expect Scott to do, set home, celibate.

Loved how Olivia grabbed Ned to walk down the Red Carpet. She should have just told the camera why she is no longer with Sonny. Sonny you can't run.
Tracy and "Luke" fools in paradise
Emma and Cameron looked cute, Funny comment he made to the camera. He really should not stoop as low as Spenser
    Anna and Duke looked beautiful
Was nice that Nathan escorted lovely Epiphany
The dress Lucy picked looked good on Lucy.
    Scott and Bobbie looked great

ransomha..Re. Dr.O's opening was way more entertaining then the other one.

ITA, and what did Lucy think she was going to do at the point, it was on T.V. the number had already been hijacked, Liesl and her group were much more entertaining.

Britt and Brad were also cracking me up watching that on T.V. I was LMAO.

    Good soap IMO. Loved it.

Levi's not even going to let Maxie watch on t.v.? Glad she took control of that as Maxie so is into fashion. Happy that Levi caved in and we will see both at the Ball. What will he come in?
Also coming will be Nik and Spenser. I hope Spenser doesn't ruin Emma and Camron's number but do hope Nik and Liz get together.♥
