Contrary to popular opinion, I've always been a big fan of Elizabeth's, and I've always felt she was an underused character, which is why I've been delighted to see her front and center in this major storyline, despite the fact that it's another “WTD” scandal, which is apparently her specialty. Any criticism I've ever had of her isn't because I don't like the character, it's simply because I don't approve of what she's doing. I never liked the way she so easily manipulated Lucky, or the way he allowed himself to be manipulated. I felt they had a toxic relationship, because despite the fact that they do love each other, they always end up hurting one another. That dysfunction spilled over into Elizabeth's tryst with Nikolas, which, despite what she told herself, was all about Liz exploring her repressed sexuality, by engaging in a “forbidden” (meaning “hot”) affair with her fiance's brother. That was never the basis for a solid relationship, which is why she and Nikolas have never even been a real couple, and why it's never been a good idea for Elizabeth to insert herself into Nikolas' love life. As we've saw today, that never works out well for either of them.

Now with that out of the way...

It was GREAT to see Nikolas go off on Elizabeth for blindsiding him, and for publicly humiliating him and his fiance in his own home. Blaming it on Nulu would be like blaming the bullet for shooting AJ. Elizabeth knew EXACTLY how Nulu would react to the news, which is why she sat back, holding on to the letter, not only because she wanted to make a dramatic entrance with HER proof, but mainly because she wanted Britt to know that SHE was the one who took her down. It was her self righteous, smug satisfaction in accomplishing her goal that set Nikolas off, which got me cheering.

I felt like I could've written every word Nikolas said to Elizabeth, even when he made her admit that she's been out to sabotage his relationship with Britt from the beginning. For a moment, Liz couldn't believe he was being serious, but Nikolas made it perfectly clear that he didn't appreciate the way Elizabeth chose to make a public spectacle out of a private, family matter, and that she chose to do it without regard for his feelings, or even a warning. Some “friend.”

I was surprised that it was Julian of all people who had the good manners and the common decency to suggest that the guests should leave, and give them their privacy. Who knew he was so considerate?

Earlier, even Ric saw right through Elizabeth's rationalizations and excuses, and he could tell that she saw this as her last chance to win Nikolas back. She couldn't deny that in her mind, she pictured Nikolas “kicking Britt to the curb” and turning to her in gratitude for saving him from marrying the “wrong” person, and because he realized that she had been the “right” one all along. To his credit, Nikolas blew any fantasies that Elizabeth might've had all to hell when he threw her out of his house.

Liz apparently learned nothing from the time she cornered Nik in his bedroom, professing her undying love. She was wrong about his reaction then, and she was even more off the mark this time. It just goes to show that Elizabeth doesn't know Nikolas all that well. She doesn't see him for who he really is, she sees what she wants to see, like he's some Prince out of a romance novel fantasy. I remember once, when she had a brief moment of clarity, she rejected the fantasy life that Nikolas offered her, simply because it was something beyond her experience. She was happy with her career, and comfortable in the life she had made for herself and her sons, and she was proud of those accomplishments, as well she should be. She didn't want to give up her home, her job, and essentially her life as she knew it to be a princess living in a castle. As I said, it was a BRIEF moment. I don't know what happened to change her mind.

Welcome Golden Canuck! I enjoyed your comments.

I wonder if Lulu and Dante will re-name Ben.

For the record, despite the way the character is written, ie many lapses of the moral compass, I like Liz over all. But then, I'm partial to those on the show for 20 or so years.

Liz had every right to be on a pedestal, she uncovered a horrendous crime! Just for this, Lante should kiss her hands in gratitude. Is Liz a saint ? Of course not. Nor are any of the interesting characters on the show. We tend to be bored with the saints (ie. Sabrina). Liz slept around as did Sam, Carly, Monica, etc.... That's why we love soaps And Jason was no saint, the man always had a way to be warm at night. He was drunk the first time he slept with Liz, but he wasn't all of the subsequent times. And Sam was there when he needed a change. All in all, both Sam and Liz were taken for a ride. Let's start pointing fingers at the men for being loose and not always put the entire fault on the takes two....

golden canuck yes the women get bashed so much and the men get away with murder (pun intended)

I think they are trying everything to make Julian seem better in the viewers eyes, now he is not the big boss, he is following orders etc.

Scrimmage ~ When it comes down to money, marbles and chalk time, Nicholas still loves Liz, and he will see that.
The one he should be the mad at is himself for believing all the bull poop that Britt has been shoveling for months and months.

    Hi Everyone!

OMG! I was so t'ed-off when I sat down & saw that my DVR did not record GH yesterday but, thank you LORD, even with the crazy HIGH winds we are having today it did & as it turns out I DON"T NEED YESTERDAY'S EPI!!!

Of course we knew that Dr O'B!tch would take off with Mr Ben Rocco Falconeri...PLEASE let Dante or even Sonny stop her PLEASE!

I still think that Luke is Jerry! Either that or as some has said, AZ back with height & life & a new face he did hate Sonny & he did have a soft spot for Tracy! might have to tune into this one will LOVE the tongue lashing that Nic gives Lizzzz!

Oh Yeah...WHY did Sonny & Olivia not stay to help make sure that things went smooth for Lante & Ben/Rocco? I get fake Luke not doing it, Lulu's not his lil' cupcake but Sonny & Olivia, not at all!

Everyone stay safe/warm/dry...freezing temps tonight...ridiculous winds today through tomorrow with high 40s then in the 30s again then spring comes back... glad to see you posting...was worried when I heard about the mudslides...the only good mudslide is in a glass!!! Best of luck with all your tests...always praying for you! sorry Sam is not & he are in my prayers too!

I'm still nowhere near up to date on posts so will just start with todays. Warm/Well Wishes & Healing/Comforting/Safety/Prayers to All!

One other thing we should factor in here folks...consider the shock of what was just revealed...a treachery...not about an inanimate object like a house or a car...but a baby for goodness sake. LuLu, Dante...we can only imagine what they are going through. Nik...bamboozled by a woman whom I believe he would have forgiven, had she come clean back in the beginning. And Liz finding the 'letter'. Her feelings for Nik aside, seriously what else was she to do with some a bombshell of a letter. The parlor scene, so explosive and dramatic, was to be expected, and really would we have had it any other way. But time is the great healer, or so I am told. Let's see how the key players evolve once they have time to reflect. Nik certainly can't blame Liz for his refusal to see Britt in a more realistic light. Once he starts playing out conversations he had with Britt over the last few months (and he will) he may readjust his anger. Truth be told, some of his anger needs to be directed at himself. If he can manage that, it will be the beginning of healing and moving on.

Hey South, I just might girlfriend. I know I'll enjoy this episode immensely if I watch it. Plus, I would love to see Alexis & Julian get it on....LOL!

Golden Canuck, Jason felt an obligation to Lizzzzz because she fell pregnant from their one-night-stand. Once he decided he couldn't live without Sam, he ran as far away from Lizzzzz as he could. As all men do w/ Lizzzz.

It may just be me, but I don't see Alexis and Julian getting together all that interesting. I didn't like the way he disrespected her and basically taunted her into having sex with him. I am definitely not a fan of William DeVry.
