    GH Recap: Girl Power.

    Wednesday, January 22 2014
Dante questions Kiki’s loyalty to Franco, Obrecht begins whipping the staff into shape, and Sabrina is willing to do anything to keep Elizabeth quiet.

In Michael’s apartment, Dante asks Kiki if Franco has reached out to her. Her phone beeps before she can answer and she tells him Franco wants to meet outside Kelly’s in 10 minutes. Dante texts back he’s on his way and pockets Kiki’s phone. Kiki kisses Michael before he leaves with Dante and then lets Franco out. She’s livid with him but he insists he’s being set up. She believes him but she can’t keep lying to Michael. He considers Ava, but Kiki thinks it is more likely Heather Webber. Franco’s positive it isn’t Heather.

At Wyndemere, Carly hears the kids outside the barn and screams for help. Spencer promises Emma he’ll protect her and goes in. Emma and Cameron follow and find Spencer with Heather cornered against the wall. Heather tells them she was the one yelling because she saw a Chupacabra, an animal that drains the blood of horses and little kids, so they better run. Spencer doesn’t believe her and she says she’s the new stable girl. She and Emma rejoice in girl power. The boys make a move to where Carly is hidden so they can find another weapon for their duel, but Heather leaps up, asking Emma if she’s okay letting these boys decide her fate. Carly makes a big noise and Heather tells them it’s the Chupacabra so they better run. She begs the kids not to tell Nikolas anything and they agree. After they leave, Heather injects Carly with a syringe. Inside Wyndemere, Britt tells Lulu and Nikolas that Obrecht was named chief of staff with the full backing of the chairman of the board. Nikolas is shocked and after a few calls learns the chairman made a unilateral decision. Britt asks Lulu if she can have Dante look into it and Lulu shares they aren’t together after finding out they couldn’t have a baby. Britt feels responsible and Lulu assures Britt it wasn’t her fault. Britt urges Lulu to go back to Dante. After Lulu leaves, Nikolas thanks Britt for encouraging Lulu and they wonder where the kids are.

Obrecht calls someone from the hospital to thank them for their help securing her position. Her first order of business is to whip the lazy staff into shape. She values this opportunity almost as much as what she gave in exchange for it. She was glad to help and looks forward to the fallout. Meanwhile, Sabrina begs Elizabeth to keep her secret just as Patrick and Robin walk up. Elizabeth tells Patrick there is something he needs to know. Robin interrupts that they already know and Sabrina stumbles over an explanation. Robin talks over her that they are referring to Obrecht. Elizabeth is shocked by the news and Patrick wonders what she was going to tell them. Anna calls and Robin and Patrick rush off to meet her. Sabrina asks Elizabeth what it would take to keep her secret. Felix starts bashing Obrecht, who walks up behind him. She lines them up and prepares them to stay late tonight. Elizabeth has to leave to get her son and Obrecht docks her pay.

Outside Kelly’s, Dante and Michael wait but there is no Franco. Michael wonders if Franco’s games have started. Dante tells Michael not to get all emotional and give Franco what he wants. Dante considers that Kiki and Franco are working together but Michael refuses to believe it. He thinks the news about the knife changes everything.

At the station, Robin tells Anna she knows about Obrecht’s release. Anna thought justice would be served and is devastated. It hurts Robin to hear Anna blame herself, but Anna wishes she had taken Obrecht down when she had the chance. Patrick tells Anna that Obrecht is now chief of staff. Anna is worried about Robin and doesn’t understand why she was put in charge. Patrick hopes she can figure it out. Anna is sure Obrecht had some important information to share with the WSB.

Elizabeth arrives at Wyndemere to pick up Cameron. She bickers with Britt about her mother’s appearance at the hospital before Nickolas breaks it up. He leaves to find the kids who come running in from the stables. They keep quiet about Heather and Nikolas warns them they need to tell him whenever they go to the stables.

Back at Michael’s, Kiki tells Franco to leave before Michael returns but it’s too late. She sneaks Franco out the window before Michael comes in. He asks Kiki if she would tell him if Franco showed up.

Lulu runs into Dante at Kelly’s and they chat awkwardly about Carly. Dante asks her if she’s ever coming home. They are interrupted by a police officer and promise to catch up later. Lulu is near tears after he’s gone.

Good day to all my fellow-viewers.

Line of the day goes to Spencer: Who are you and what are you doing on my property? The boy is pure Helena.

Only My Opinion: KM just cannot act. The whole episode with her being "indignant" just did not ring true. And I've Been indignant, and I've had people be indignant with me. She needs to up her game. I would say this is why I don't like the character Robin, but it isn't. Robin is just irritating to me, with her "I know what's best for everyone" attitude. Actually, the old Br!tch is probably better for the job than Robin is.

Heather's storyline makes me want to toss my remote into the tv. I think that's a sign it's time to skip those scenes, which is something I normally try to avoid doing...

Sabrina acts like she's keeping this secret because she doesn't want to come off like Britt. Ridiculous reasoning. Britt deliberately impregnated herself so as to trap Patrick. With Sabrina's pregnancy, both her and Patrick had an equal amount of control over the pregnancy, which is to say, no control.

Of course she doesn't have PTSD, she's too full of herself as always. At this point I'm not sure what could possibly have an affect on her, its like she's incapable of real emotion. Just wait, she'll be thinking of more was ays to take off and leave emma behind AGAIN without a care in the world. Robin is always and only about me me me.

Looking forward to Epif' meeting the new COS.

Hope Dr. O' makes Sabrina and Fe' miserable. Could be fun.

Kiki is willing to risk her relationship with this guy she's been lusting after and broke Morgan's heart for , for Franco? Why? Thought she "loved" Michael.

So Liz will keep the secret another day.
Her exchange with Dr. O sure put her in a bad mood and she took it out on Britt. They are fun to watch giving it to each other.

I don't see why Lulu rejects Dante because she isn't producing eggs.

Why does Sabrina have to say "pregnant with Patrick's baby "in every episode .
Who is she trying to convince?

Hmmmm... Just speculation, but could Frau Blücher's friend and benefactor be Helena?

At least all the characters on the show are reacting to this unbelievable turn of events the same way we are. That means that there IS an explanation out there, somewhere, but just how forthcoming, or satisfying in will be remains to be seen. For all we know, that cryptic phone conversation could be all we get for now. It seems to me that a “unilateral decision” by the Chairman of the Board wouldn't be so hard to overturn.

All that aside, I am looking forward to Dr. O cracking the whip on the staff at GH. It's about time somebody did, and I wouldn't be surprised if Epiphany isn't eventually her biggest supporter, once she sees the results a little discipline can have on her nurses. I guess taking off in the middle of their shifts to deal with personal stuff, and saying “cover for me,” is a thing of the past, too.

Frau Blücher called it “Tuff Luff!” Me likey!

Robin said after two years in captivity, dealing with Dr. O would be a “walk in the park.” Oh, yeah. Central Park, after midnight, during a blackout.

And the all time achievement award for the Best Use of a Text Message in a Daytime Drama goes to Frodd for his “Meet me at Kelly's” text. Brilliant! You could tell he even impressed himself! Unfortunately, Frodd left off part of his line, explaining that he's not playing games like he did before. Here's the full, unedited version.

Frodd: “I was a different person back then. My name was Todd, and you were my daughter, Starr. Don't you REMEMBER?”

A Summer Blockbuster coming to theaters near you...

    Carly Jacks IS...

You know, that literally means “goat sucker” in Spanish, and many people believe they really exist. It's not nearly as unbelievable as some of the other stuff on this show right now.

Spencer has a lot of his grandfather Stavros in him. Spoiled, power mad, full of himself, obsessed with women, violent, overconfident, and a little bit strange. When he got the drop on Heather, I was yelling “Freeze her, Spencer!!”

So the kids DIDN'T find Carly after all? Well gee, then that whole thing was just a colossal waste of time, wasn't it?

Speaking of a waste of time...

I'm really getting tired of Nulu acting like a baby was the only reason for her marriage, and using her infertility as an excuse to bail. Just shut up about it already, and quit blaming Dante. It's always weird seeing her in scenes with Ben, but I have to believe he's MUCH better off right where he is. It's not “right,” but it's true. When Nulu told Britt about her separation, certainly, no one actually expected Britt to just hand over Ben and say “It's all my fault. I'm so sorry. Here, have a baby. By the way, he's actually yours. My bad.” Even though that WOULD be refreshing, it's going to take more than a baby to fix what's wrong with Dante and Nulu's relationship, and frankly, I'd just as soon see them break up. They're both much more interesting as single people, although “interesting” might be a relative term in this case.

That sure was a BIG needle Heather had. Wonder what was in that one??

Posted by lovesdogs980 at Wednesday, January 22 2014 01:02 PM

Ransomha ~ Maybe Sabrina subconsciously wants Patrick to overhear her saying she is pregnant with his baby. That way she won't have to tell him face to face.

Posted by lovesdogs980 at Wednesday, January 22 2014 01:06 PM

Scrimmage ~ My guess Dr O's benefactor is going to be a new character that is yet to be introduced and maybe either related to the Cassidines or was in cahoots with Helena.

Still not watching, just reading recaps.

I put my money on Helena as being behind the Dr. O COS assignment.

Posted by jumps at Wednesday, January 22 2014 01:09 PM

What is the point in having a board of directors if the chairman can do whatever the heck he wants? Please, I realize this is a soap, but there are just some things I can not buy and Dr. O being the COS is one of them.
