OT: Bayou, ended up with about 5 inches with fluffy white snow. While i'm not a fan, the skiers are thrilled. Fresh powder. Like 12 inches in ski country. The tress are outlined and look beautiful. Driveway and streets already plowed to cement.
Buffalo knows how to do snow!

Poodles: Really sweet of your sister-in-law. How considerate .It's those little things that mean so much.

Totally agree with about the the love from your mom. Miss mine so much.
When you are young you want them off your back as you get older you realize they always had your back, Nothing like a mother's love. Which is why I also agree with you about Maxie.

NOTHING would have kept me away. Would have had to leave town. Could not be down the street and not see her.

OT: Tahoe was actually a wedding present that we used for our honeymoon. We were married in LA and husbands cousin was a "B" movie star. She gave us 5 days in Tahoe as a wedding gift.

No kids unfortunately for Thanksgiving. Holland son is in Italy and Athens.
Will have everyone for Christmas, girlfriends too for long visits. Holland son will be here almost 3 weeks. He's the furthest away. Flying his Colorado girlfriend here for 10 day. Everyone else will be in and out. Can;t wait. Spending Thanksgiving at Lily Hunters, just kidding but a friends house!

Gmahoma: Liz had her hair curled for the wedding. It looked way better straightened. IMO.

Think we'll all be waiting until next week for the wedding.

Yes indeed Robin's reunion with her mother and Duke was quite emotional. The four together again can't be anything other than intense Anna, Robert, Duke, and Robin definitely have a connection that goes way back. The acting doesn't need to be amazing either, their presence speaks for itself. GH has created some mythic characters.

Patrick did a wonderful job today expressing his heartache and confusion. But I'm not sure if it is a character change as Patrick has evolved over the years; he is definitely not as arrogant or sharp as when he was first introduced on the show. In the scene with Britt today, it's almost as if he has resigned himself to the situation. Apart from going to the lab, he doesn't question further or connect the phone call he received from Robin (or for him, someone who sounds exactly like Robin). He has become unassertive about things, even in parenting Emma.

Also, I don't remember which post commented on Liz needing a storyline of her own, but I certainly agree with it. Rebecca Herbst is a very good actress.

When she and Nikolas kissed a few months back, the audience felt it and we felt that she was struggling to keep a personal promise to Lucky, which quite frankly he is unworthy of. Nikolas has been harbouring feelings for Liz for sometime now, feelings that he continue to push down out of respect for Elizabeth's request. Consequently, when they are in the same space, their attraction is palpable. The writers could definitely run with this storyline because it is forbidden love at its best and what is hotter. After all, people generally want more and more of what they can't have. His relationship with Britt can not grow until he deals with his feelings for Liz. At this point Nikolas is frustrated. Britt is there and available.

Scrimmage: lol re: your fashion suggestion for hot mess Maxie.....jail bars. They will need to forego the orange jail jumpsuits though - otherwise she'll resemble a pumpkin in a fenced in patch, and that'll blow the whole deal.

Yesterday's epi was excellent. Count me as one who shed a few tears over the reunion scene. Beautifully done. When they flashed on Robert trying to restrain himself, I lost it. And then Duke....that scene alone deserves mega kudos.

Jadalola - if it is any consolation to you, Elizabeth has been so beautiful these last few weeks. Love her new hair style. And it was great to see the scene with her real life husband. Hang in there...once some of these storylines get settled, I think Elizabeth will have her day. Hopefully it will be with a new, handsome man, as these others will be played out. They will have to do something to spark some excitement.

Maxie has no moral censor. She thinks she can do as she wants. Her very act shows how unprepared she is to be a mother. Not only is she risking her not being to ever see her daughter again, but Spinelli's. That court order works both ways. Does she want her daughter to wind up in foster care?
I agree that Felicia abandoning her at a young age has created many problems for Maxie, but at some point she has to grow up and take responsibility for her actions.

Cynic - I agree about the Chew. It's a matching book end to the View....a bunch of screeching banshees, talking over each other. And ramped up audiences screaming at the top of their lungs like the studio is on fire.

I have a question for Poodles and those other posters who identify with Maxie and have said that if they were in her place, NOTHING would keep them from their baby, no matter the consequences for doing so.

If the threat of spending a few weeks or even months in lockup where you definitely wouldn't be able to see her wouldn't be enough of a deterrent, what about the very real possibility that that the judge could make the order PERMANENT, which would prevent you from being around your daughter for the rest of her life instead of a mere six months? I understand the emotional bond between a mother and child and all that stuff, but what's called for in this case, and what the judge is obviously looking for, is discipline, maturity, and at least some indication that Maxie has learned the value of respecting and abiding by the rules of society which says, among other things, that you don't try to give away your children, and you don't ignore the laws of the land, or the orders of the court just because you disagree with them.

By blatantly violating the restrictions placed upon her after even less than one day, Maxie has not only jeopardized Spinelli's chances to retain custody of their daughter, but has also proven herself incapable of controlling her impulses, and unworthy of the trust that the court, in it's wisdom, has denied her. In fact, her actions are the very definition of contempt of court. For that matter, she has shown absolutely no respect for ANY authority, legal or moral. Her pattern of behavior throughout this entire debacle has been to ignore the intrinsic value of doing the “right thing” for its own sake, and to instead do whatever she wanted to do, based on whether or not she thought she could get away with it.

Maxie's priorities are all screwed up. During the hearing, Maxie was more worried about the clothes she was wearing and the image she projected rather than convincing the judge that she had learned the error of her ways. Now, she's more concerned about missing the opportunity to dress her daughter up in cute outfits to show her off in public than she is about becoming a better person so that in six months she can show the court that she can be a good role model for Spixie. Apparently, Maxie doesn't want a child to raise that would require her to develop a functioning moral compass, she wants a doll to play dress up with, as if her daughter was the ultimate fashion accessory.

In spite of the fact that she caused this whole mess, Maxie only regrets that things didn't work out in her favor, and she truly believes the ruling against her was unfair. Until she can accept that it was NOT unfair, or even unreasonable, and can convincingly demonstrate to the court that she wouldn't pass on her own amoral point of view that “the end justifies the means, just as long as you don't get caught,” to her daughter, then Maxie shouldn't be allowed anywhere NEAR Spixie, or any OTHER child for that matter.

    I just watched the show.

I know this is crazy and out there, but Felix just called Sabrina by her full name: Sabrina Maria Dominica Santiago. Wasn't Claudia Zacharra's mother's name Dominica and Johnny's "adopted" mother's name Maria? Is this a coincidence or something more? hmmm....

Beautiful Scorpio family reunion. Overall a great episodes.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Scrimmage ~ Eloquently stated, I totally agree. Maxie is the very definition of a narcissist.
