Refresh my memory. Did they only take a tumor out of Frodd's head, or did they neuter him too? I never pictured this character as a lovesick puppy, pining for a house with a white picket fence, a wife, 2.5 kids, a dog, and a nine to five job, but that's pretty much what we got today. Is this guy a reformed, artistically gifted, ex-serial killer, or Ward Cleaver? With Heather hanging around, maybe Gomez Addams is closer to the mark. Carly in a long black wig would make a great Morticia. HEY! Maybe Nikolas should throw a Halloween Costume Party at Wyndemere, and Frodd and Carly could go as the Addams Family, with Michael as Lurch, Moron as Pugsley, and Josslyn as Wednesday. Heather could shave her head and be Uncle Fester.

Who else could the characters of PC dress up as?

Ick? “Perfect?” Hardly, but he didn't have to be THIS bad!

I said it yesterday, and I'll say it again. It was a big mistake to have Ick kill Vince in cold blood, and TPTB will come to regret that unfortunate, and completely unnecessary choice. Ava has at least TRIED to kill someone already, so she could've beaten Ick to the punch, or as I said before, Vince could've made a move that would've given Ick just the excuse he needed to kill the guy in “self-defense.” Either way, that would've been preferable than what we're dealing with now, which is the simple fact that Ick is now definitely a bad guy, and just like that, Ick is THROUGH as a potential romantic lead on this show, and for WHAT? To show he's a tough guy? WHY?

Did we really wait all these years to learn the identity of Sam's father only to have him turn out to be just another in a long line of murdering thugs, out to get Sonny? (Yawn!) Does Alexis really have to find out that the man who fathered her oldest daughter, and saved the life of her grandson is really a despicable, cold blooded killer, who intends to kill the father of her middle daughter, and probably her ex-boyfriend too, while he's at it? All this could've easily been avoided, but instead, they chose to use gratuitous violence to illustrate what Anna was saying about how ruthless she suspects Ick is. Once a character crosses a certain line, like having sex with someone they shouldn't, or committing cold blooded murder, there's really no taking it back. I don't care HOW many people come back from the dead on this show. Ick's a killer, and there's no way to change that now.

Just chalk him up as yet another character with loads of potential who instead found themselves painted in a corner right off the bat before they've even had a chance to establish themselves on the show. They did it with Claudia, and again more recently with Kinky and the recast Moron. I don't know why they're so impatient with these characters, and force them into these positions before the character is even developed. Of course they don't seem to mind limiting the potential of new characters any more than they do destroying the reputations of long-established stars. See Luke and Maxie for examples of THAT peculiar form of self-sabotage. Maybe even Sonny and AJ too, depending on how their current storylines end up. I sometimes wonder about what these guys are thinking when they screw around with their most important characters for no apparent reason. It's just madness!

Casey1, good catches. You should work for GH and replace some of the researchers or assistant writers.
I was thinking...why would Derek mention Vince as a trusted employee if Vince worked for Julian Jerome.

Scrimmage, you have very good points where Derek/Julian is concerned. The writers have assassinated - for lack of a better term- Derek's persona. He could have been the good to Ava's evil. Maybe he will be the new mob boss in PC once Sonny is institutionalized ( just a speculation). With Derek being the new mob figure in PC, this will allow Alexis and Sam to interact with him and show if they deem him worthy of the same tolerance they allowed Sonny and Jason.

Maybe if Olivia bumps into Derek she'll "see" Julian, like when she bumped into Duke and "saw" Faison. It must be about time for another vision. Did I understand Derek's plan is to intercept one of Sonny's shipments on the night of the party?
    Had trouble staying focused today.

Midas...Thanks, but I'll pass on the job. Where do you think Morgan and Kiki will take up residence next?

Scrimmage..We've had years of Sonny as the bad mob boss who has a very strong fan base, why would D/Julian be written in a corner? I don't think it was an accident that tptb casted a handsome, young looking man as Sam's father and from what I can tell the viewers are loving him and rooting for him to oust Sonny as PC's mob boss. Any character can be redeemed or have redeeming qualities, which is why they're showing D/ Julian to be Danny's donor and his interest, eventual protectiveness of Sam, Danny and Alexis.

or he could be redeemed by a ginormous brain tumor.....just saying

Posted by Midas at Tuesday, September 17 2013 02:43 PM

Granoni, LOL. I THINK I'LL USE THE OLE 'TUMOR IN THE JAR' DEFENSE from now on.

Posted by Midas at Tuesday, September 17 2013 02:48 PM

Casey1-- Morgan will probably mooch off his mom, Carly. She runs a hotel with plenty of rooms. She's comped Luke and now Franco, so I'm sure she'll put up her hobo son and his hobo-ette.

Posted by Casey1 at Tuesday, September 17 2013 02:54 PM

Granoni....That's just my point. I like Roger Howarth so I could accept that the tumor caused Franco to do bad things, William deVry is a fan favourite from the other soaps he's been on, I expect he'll have a strong fan base as D/Julian on GH.

Casey1 – I know what you're saying, but my point is, it TPTB want Ick to be popular and admired by the fanbase, why put the obstacle of having him commit the cold blooded murder of an unarmed man in the way of that? If their intent is to have him develop a relationship with Sam or anyone else, why portray him as someone she wouldn't want hanging around her son? It just makes no sense to me why they would mess all that up just to kill off one meaningless character, but it's too late now. For Ick, AND for Vince.

As for Sonny, as much as I don't like him, and although he's ordered many “hits,” as far as I know, the only unarmed person he's ever tried to murder in cold blood himself was Dante, and he failed miserably. I can't recall Sonny ever actually killing someone other than that Russian mob boss, Karpov, who tried to kill Sonny first, but I think he was armed, and he had it coming anyway.
