rootbeer- maybe Heather has a twin! Seems lots of folks in and near PC do!

Rootbeer wrote: “I find it utterly ridiculous that Heather can just slip in and out of these mental institutions so easily. I know they do it so they can bring her back from time to time but it's just a little too far-fetched...”

You've touched on a subject I've been giving some thought to. I know what you mean about Heather's frequent escapes, and I'm usually a stickler for at least some degree of plausibility if not realism in most cases, even on a soap, where suspension of a certain level of skepticism is required. With Heather, I originally objected to her unexplained ability to change Danny's paternity test on a whim. She never planned to do it, yet she pulled it off in about five minutes, while supposedly on a bathroom break. That little prank, which essentially broke up Jason and Sam, was just a “crime of opportunity,” but Heather never explained exactly how she pulled it off. She just said she has “her ways,” and let it go at that.

That's why for my own peace of mind I've come up with my own explanation. I've decided that Heather is literally some kind of evil genius, with an IQ so far above that of anyone who would be in charge of incarcerating her, that Heather can easily manipulate them, or outwit their security procedures. It's all a question of motivation for Heather, and how badly she wants whatever it is that she's fixated on at any given time. It could be anything from craving for a BLT from Kelly's, to playing “mommy” for Steven Lars (who is safely locked away from her), or it might be some special occasion like Frodd's birthday, somebody else marrying Luke, the birth of some baby she wants to kidnap, or the chance to dress up as “Xena: Warrior Princess” at the San Diego Comic-Con, that prompts Heather to come out and play.

In the real world, someone with Heather's pedigree would be living in restraints and so drugged up she wouldn't even know who or where she was, but that wouldn't be nearly as entertaining as Heather.

As for the way the incredible Robin Mattson plays Heather, when the scene calls for her to be truly menacing, she is more than capable of sending shivers up my spine, but in less intense situations, like today, she plays it with her tongue firmly planted in her cheek, for light comedy. It's what we used to call “camp,” when a so-called villain wasn't really all that scary. The good thing about that for Heather is that either way, it still fits her mercurial personality. She can be perfectly pleasant, and seemingly lucid one minute, and then she'll stick a carving knife in your ribs the next, while she calmly explains to you why it's all your fault that she has to kill you.

From Heather's point of view, everything she's ever done has been perfectly rational, and it would've all worked out perfectly if not for the interference of others. To her, it's everyone ELSE who's crazy to not see things the same way that she does. She can't understand why anyone would question the importance of a BLT from Kelly's, or why she would want to get revenge on a woman who reneged on a promise to deliver a letter to her estranged son. To a genius like Heather, we are all just inferior beings, and since we are insignificant in the grand scheme of things, we are therefore disposable. That's why Heather can kill people like Maggie with no more remorse than she would have for squashing a bug. It's Heather's World, and we're all just annoying her by living in it.

scrimmage-I just love to read your posts. Thanks for more insight into Heather and "her ways".
I forgot just who it was that didn't deliver the letter. Help me someone! Please, refresh this for me someone. I seem to remember the promise to deliver the letter...was it in exchange for the name of the missingQ?Help!

Scrimmage I think you summed up Heather perfectly. I enjoy her and Robin M. plays her so well whether menacing or all smiles and bubbly sunshine who can turn in a second to a sinister dark serial killer.  She is one of the best villains on GH. Where would we or GH be without our bad guys and girls?

Gmahoma – Thanks! I'm glad you enjoy my posts.

The person who didn't deliver Heather's letter to Steven Lars was none other than Sam herself. That's what started this whole mess between San and Heather in the first place. Sam went to Ferncliff to visit Heather shortly after she and Jason found a DVD left on their balcony with a video of a baby boy who, according to his wristband, was named “Moore” (Jason's mother Susan's name) and born on Jason's birthday. Sam and Jason figured that Franco had left the video there sometime prior to when Jason supposedly “killed” him, and they assumed the baby on the video was Jason, but Sam was curious about what it meant, so she went to visit Heather, whom she had never met before, because she was the only person still alive who was present when Jason was born, and she agreed to share what she knew in exchange for Sam delivering a letter to Heather's son, Steven Lars, who had been returning her letters unopened for years. Sam agreed, and that's when Heather dropped the bomb on her that Franco was actually Jason's twin brother, who had been delivered after Susan had passed out after giving birth to Jason and was spirited away by Heather's buddy Betsy Frank.

Sam was so shocked by the news, and the implication that the baby she was carrying could be Franco's after all, in spite of an amnio that said that the baby was “closely related” to Jason, that she staggered out of the visitors room at Ferncliff, leaving Heather's letter behind. Heather never forgot, or forgave Sam for that, and when she got out, after convincing her doctors that she was cured and Steven Lars to vouch for her, she ran into Sam at GH and found out that Sam was having a paternity test, and minutes later somehow switched the results to say that Franco was the father of Sam's baby. But that still didn't even the score, which is why Heather gave Sam's baby to Todd to give to Tia, and left Tia's stillborn son in Danny's place. All because Sam didn't deliver a letter like she promised.

Payback's a B!TCH, and her name is Heather.

Lovelymarlena – I never cared for Franco or Maggie (who wasn't really a villain), but I liked all the rest of the baddies you mentioned, including Lisa.

Out of all the people on your list, I think Claudia was the one whose enormous potential was the most wasted because they were in too much of a hurry to pair her up with Sonny, and it ruined the character from the start. They were trying to capitalize on the chemistry that they had when Sarah Joy Brown played Carly, much the same way they're currently trying to recapture the heat that Michael Easton and Kelly Monaco once had many years ago when they played Caleb and Livvie on the old “Port Charles” prime time soap. It's not working for them now, any better than it did for Claudia and Sonny back then.

I think TPTB will regret their decision to portray Ick as a cold blooded killer if he turns out to be as popular with the (female) viewers as he seems to be. They could've easily staged that scene just a little differently, perhaps having Vince threaten Ava, giving Ick no choice but to kill him. That trick is what kept Jason from crossing the line from being a good guy who just happens to be handy with a gun, into just another murdering thug for YEARS!

Before today, I wanted Ick and Alexis together, but now I don't want to see her get involved with yet another sociopath who kills people whenever he feels like it. She's been there and done that too many times already, and she deserves better.

now that Dereck (aka Jullian Jerome)has proven to be a cold blooded mob murder it seems almost certain that he and Alexis will get together would the writers deny us the opportunity to see her reaction to finding out Sams bio Dad is no better than Sean, when she was so unforgiving of Sean trying to protect those he cared for by following what he thought was Sonnys orders to take out Franco.

and Scrimmage I agree I dont want Alexis with another mobster (Sam either)but its like standing on a hill watching a train wreck about to happen, you can scream and holler watch out but you know it is going to happen any way

good morning from a brisk NY!

4ever: I agree, Shawn was in the mob so Alexis dumped him. What will happen when she finds out who Julian really is? Will she side against her daughter's father?

lovely: You're right. Carly's cloths are tight too.
The weird thing with Ava is, she gets all dressed up, tight dresses, high heels, and you know all the underwear that goes along with wearing dresses everyday when she has no where to go.
At least Carly is running a swanky hotel so it makes more sense.

OT: SouthGA: Hope you woke up feeling better.

    Good Morning All!

    OT

lovesdogs....he just said that the sciatic nerve hasn't healed yet....I believe he injected it (the sciatic nerve, where it is) in my hip as I could feel the steroid spreading, it felt like it was following that nerve in my hip/thigh/knee area. I am guessing that he could only do one area at a time since he asked me where the most pain was & that is why he did my hip. I am feeling better this morning..last night was rough! If this doesn't give me a lot of relief then I am going to ask him to burn the nerve so it can grow back healthy...my son "M" had that done & it gave him the most relief...thanks for asking...I'm sure you didn't expect this long answer.
