Think the reason that Duke and Anna don't recognize Julian is that he had plastic surgery. They sort of hinted at it.
Boy does that Heather come prepared. That was some knife she pulled out of her bag.
Sonny off his meds and a party, a recipe for a mega disaster.

Today's show was the most excrutiatingly boring one ever, except for one bright moment, when Shaun gave Franko the BLT which Max left unfinished on Friday.

I was disappointed that Derek shot Vince as I was hoping he would become one of the good ones, but Sonny shoots people and gets away with it, and so did Jason, so maybe there is hope for Derek yet.

Isn't it taking a long time to bury Connie?

Why does Ava dress like a throwback from 1960, The dress and hairstyle are from 53 years ago.

bayoubtr I too feel that Ava's dress is a little too tight, and looks very strained across the bosom, as if she is wearing a sports bra. They did wear them tight fitting back then, but they were hard wo walk in. I could show you some photos of me in my skin tight sheath dresses.

    Hi everyone,
I didn't get to see the show today, so I'm trying to rely on the comments to catch up. Our local ABC channel started covering the DC Naval base shootings at around 10 this morning. I'll just have to watch it on demand after 11.

Blessings to all the victims and their loved ones.

Of course Derek had plastic surgery. I have to say that he's much more handsome now. The old Julian looked like an 80's puff do, shiny shirted, party boy wishing the discos were still the place to go.
Alexis is most likely memorized by Derek, hoping that this guy is a part of some hazy memory. After all she goes from blushing school girl these days to meno grandmother.

Prim--Alexis probably recognized Derek/Julian from the "gun" in his pocket..I'm sure he was happy to see her.

Ava does dress like Joan from "Mad Men".

Hellooooo Heather! I'm always glad when she shows up because she usually brings some comedy gold with her, and today was no exception. From her list of “special occasions” that she escapes for (birthdays, Bar Mitzvahs, and COMIC-CON!) to Frodd's deadpan delivery of his line “So I took a stab... so to speak” they were exchanging set ups and punch lines like a pair of seasoned Las Vegas comics. Watching how Heather startled Frodd with any sudden movement, and the way he refused to turn his back on her, almost tripping over the couch in the process, was hilarious, and I loved it when she said she missed “Brain Tumor Franco,” although I can't imagine James Franco playing this kind of scene with her. I thought Frodd might show a little more genuine affection for his adopted mother's good buddy, but I saw nothing of that, and for a minute there, when Frodd became frustrated and lost his temper, I thought we were going to get the GH equivalent of King Kong vs. Godzilla, but I'm glad cooler heads prevailed.

I guess the theme of the day could be “Odd Couples.” Heather and Frodd, Ava and Sonny, and I guess you could probably add the tepid pairing of Slimas and Sam, and the increasing awkward Alexis and Ick, but the oddest couple of all might be the new BFFs, Felix and Carly.

I can't believe it took so long for me to realize it, but Felix is the new Amy Vining! Maybe it's because they are so totally different as people that until now I couldn't see that they are the exact same character – the hospital gossip who is everybody's best friend, and their worst nightmare, depending on who the subject du jour is. Felix is the guy who should be writing the gossip column for Ick's paper, but why Carly would allow a blabbermouth nurse from GH that she barely knows lecture her on her choice of men, or her personal life, and then drag her into an unwanted confrontation with someone she has mixed feelings about is utterly beyond me. Where is the REAL Carly, and who is this imposter running around in her clothes?

What has gotten into Felix, anyway? Was he so upset that his blind date was a cheapskate that now he's going all “Cops,” banging on Frodd's door like HE'S the crazy person? If he's so convinced that the whole “Tumor of EVIL” thing is just the scam of a serial killer, then why on Earth would Felix want to provoke him, and get on his radar? Hasn't he got enough problems?

Sonny is WAY off his game if he can't see that Ava is playing him like a rigged game of online poker, and it's no wonder. According to his prescription, Sonny is supposed to be taking 600mg of Lithium three times a day, EVERY day. Are you kidding me? Sonny's condition must be FAR worse than anyone suspects if it takes such a massive amount of a powerful mind altering medication to level him out. He must be bouncing off the walls inside his own head as his body withdraws from the drugs that are still in his system. Between Sonny, AJ, Frodd, and Heather, Sonny is the most seriously and dangerously unbalanced, and any legitimate doctor who saw him in this condition would probably insist that he should be put in a hospital (if not an institution for the criminally insane) until he can be stabilized. That's why his sons didn't take him to GH after his aborted suicide attempt, despite the fact that as a police officer, that is EXACTLY what Dante is required to do. As a result, right now Sonny is like a ticking time bomb, and a danger to himself and anyone who has the misfortune to be near him when he goes off.

I agree with Anna that Ick has perfected his “good guy veneer” and the explanation for why neither she nor Duke recognized him was because he's altered his appearance was both welcome and overdue. It also explains why he looks ten years younger than Alexis, even though he's supposed to be at least two or three years older than she is. I'm glad that little incongruity is finally behind us.

The problem with Ick isn't his good guy image; that seems to come naturally to him. It's his bad guy persona that needs work. During his scene with Vince on the docks, I didn't think Ick seemed the least bit frightening or intimidating. It was ludicrous to think that a guy like Vince would just LET himself be killed, especially when he's twice Ick's size, and an experienced leg breaker for the mob. He could've easily broken Ick in half. Better still, and even if Shawn and Max had left Vince unarmed, Vince could've grabbed Ava, and threatened to snap her neck if Ick didn't drop his gun. Of course, if he tried that, there's a really good chance that she'd have probably killed him herself. Between the two of them, Ava is definitely the scariest of the Jeromes.
