I wonder if in the interest of "the truth" Ellie will inform Spin just how she came about her "information". I'm betting she won't be imparting that gem.

Bayou ~ She already told Spinelli that she used his computer skills to hack into the GH computer and got Maxie's records.

bayou - she already did. When she started telling it, she told Everything. I still think everyone is picking on Ellie a little too much. She wasn't the pregnant one - Maxie was, and it was Maxie's story to tell, not Ellie's. No one may agree with me, but I never would have told Spinelli. Not even now. I am a firm believer in the "It wasn't me" school of relationships. May be how come I'm single, huh?

bayou - I'm guessing that Ellie has been set up by Britta's lies, but I want her kicked the curb anyway. Under her nerd persona she has Helena Cassadine sized control issues.

Lily-- I'm thinking Ellie has an agenda that's not been revealed yet. She can't just be a lab rat that would do anything for a man. Like you said, she's got some HC skills & issues.

I was a bit puzzled about Connie's first words to Sonny: "I knew you could come". It just makes me wonder if she didn't set herself to be a target by the running the Kiki story hoping her knight in shining armor would show up in time to save her this time because he didn't in the past(Joe Scully).

oops- My last comment should read "I knew you would come".

lily, lily, lily - talk about a Freudian slip. Pretty good one tho. I hated to see Connie die. She wasn't exactly my favorite character, but her place in the fabric of the show seemed to be steady. She's got family in P/C, she had a job that promised conflict and drama, and being with Sonny alone is a soap opera s/l. Don't why TIIC felt they had to kill her off. I can think of several characters I'd rather see jump off a bridge.

It's hard when a character you love as much as I love Maxie does something so horrible that it will change the way everyone thinks about her from now on, but I refuse to blame anyone else, or make excuses for the damage that Maxie's misguided, and incredibly selfish plan will cause everyone involved. What she was planning to do to her best friends and her own daughter is, in my opinion, totally unforgivable, and it will take a huge effort on her part to ever come close to making amends, and even if she somehow manages to accomplish that, no one will ever trust her again, nor should they.

How anyone can think Ellie's motives for lying are more selfish than Maxie's is beyond me. Yes, Ellie lied out of fear of losing the man she loved, and Maxie's ORIGINAL intentions to be a surrogate for her friends were noble, but as soon as she lost their baby, her intentions became anything BUT honorable. Her motives weren't to give Dante and Lulu the child they wanted, because they wanted their OWN child, not hers and Spinelli's. The reasons for Maxie's deception were twofold, and both were totally selfish. First, she desperately wanted to avoid all the “I told you so's” that were sure to follow if she let everyone know she had failed as a surrogate, living down to everyone's worst expectations of her. Second, because single motherhood did not fit into her career plans, especially since Spinelli was committed to, and happy with Ellie, she saw this as an easy way out. Nulu and Dante wanted a baby, but didn't have one, and Maxie was going to have one she didn't want. In “Maxie-esque” logic, she convinced herself it was an elegant solution that she believed the universe was providing for her. To Maxie, it was win/win for everybody.

This was a diabolically evil, but brilliant way for Maxie to kill two birds with one stone. She could avoid the humiliation of admitting her failure, and the pain of disappointing her friends who were counting on her, while at the same time dumping the responsibilities of raising her unplanned and inconvenient child on the unsuspecting couple, and pawning her daughter off on them as their own flesh and blood. The idea that Spinelli had a right to know that he was a father wasn't even a consideration. He was just collateral damage, and as far as Maxie was concerned, what he never knew would never hurt him – OR her.

To say that Maxie had no choice and was simply a victim of circumstances, or that she was doing the wrong things for the right reasons is just an excuse that she tells herself so she can rationalize her Brobdingnagian betrayal of the people she loves the most in the world. The reality is that this is ALL Maxie's despicable plan, and the fact that she's had a change of heart at this late date doesn't make her any less responsible for all the pain and the heartache that is sure to come.

The good news is, if Ick decides to shut down Crimson since Connie's no longer around to run it, Maxie's probably out of a job. So much for her plan to avoid motherhood in favor of a fast-track career in fashion. That's the least she has coming to her. If she and Spinelli get back together, claim their daughter, and live happily ever after, it will be a horrible injustice in light of the depths of her treachery. I love Maxie, but she's got to pay, and pay DEARLY for what she's done.
