Richard Simmons would make creepy grabby Brad run the other way. Oh, now I understand why he's in PC.

No comment from Scrimmage so far. He must be lying down with an ice bag on his head recovering from today's dose of Richard Simmons.

Reading the posts, no one seems to have appreciated Richard Simmons awful cameo. It just wasn't funny and grated. But everyone seems to be enjoying Katherine Gatti as Frau Obrecht. "Helena Cassidine was a wonderful woman, but you killed her!" Another enemy for Luke. Then the shining eyed eulogy for the brilliant Faison. The actress has charisma. You don't have to be young and beautiful to hold the audience in the palm of your hand. I knew women who would see every film Bette Davis made and just idolized her. Bette would never have won a beauty contest, except when she was a very young blonde, but she was a major Hollywood star well into old age.

lily, I have started to like Brad. The actor who plays him, the multi talented Parry Shen, is very good and has a few little mannerisms which flesh out the character, like when he sprayed his breath just before his 'date' with Michael. I also loved it when Britt smacked him and asked if he was dropped on his head as a baby. Britt and Brad make a comic duo. In real life he is married with two lovely daughters and is a big comic-con fan, rather like Spinelli. I hope he stays with the show for a while. I could see a comedy trio of Brad, Felix and Spin.

Actually I suspect ABC paid Richard Simmons a boatload of money for his charities so they could portray him in this fashion. He has always been a champion of people with low self esteem and poor body image. He has worked tirelessly to help these people. Dislike the way he has been portrayed not the person.

Casey1 – Rucas is correct. The events in Corinth are not concurrent with what was going on in Port Charles. After all, we saw Luke and Holly in Ireland with Shawn when Duke was getting poisoned, and then yesterday they're back in the States, so obviously the timelines are not synched up, despite being shown on the same day. Basically, it's bad, confusing editing.

    Speaking of bad and confusing...

I never want that talentless embarrassment to humanity know as Richard Simmons to ever darken my big screen again. I was so disgusted by his intrusion into Mac and Felicia's wedding that I didn't even care that his appearance was SPOILED by comments from posters who obviously knew he was coming back on the show. I FF'd through all of his scenes.

Nice office, Doc. I wonder what Lucy would say if she knew your “patient in crisis” was Connie? Just hide the paperweights, and don't turn your back on her... OR Lucy, for that matter.

Considering Kevin knows Sonny is bi-polar and prone to violence, I'm surprised he didn't advise Connie to take her time, and to proceed with caution, but he sent her right back into the lion's den as if he expects Sonny to behave like a rational human being. I'm also surprised that Connie never even mentioned her run-in with AJ in her session with Kevin. Apparently, the subject didn't even come up, so I guess she's not too worried about it. Kevin may be right, Connie may be subconsciously looking for a way out. There is still a part of Connie that was always scared to death of a life with Sonny because of all the physical and emotional damage it had already caused her, and also because of the constant threat of danger to anyone close to him. It's these very intense and totally incompatible, conflicting emotions of love versus a strong survival instinct that made it inadvisable for Connie to be involved with Sonny after her integration in the first place. He's a trigger that makes Connie do things unconsciously, sometimes against own her best interests. Both her desperation to get Sonny back in reaction to seeing him get closer to Oblivia, and her decision to run the story, knowing Sonny would see it as a betrayal, are perfect examples of the two sides of Connie still at odds over how to deal with her feelings towards Sonny. She wants him, and she wants to drive him away. Classic Connie.

As for Sonny and Oblivia, I always enjoy the way they “discuss” things at high volume. They both find each other exasperating and irresistible at the same time. Oblivia is going to keep telling Sonny to stay away until he finally gets the message and ignores her. She knows Sonny well enough to know that the best way to make him do something is for a woman to tell him not to do it. It looks like Connie might be the one to back off this time.

I know it's picky, but sometimes it's the little things on this show that bug me, and when there's several of them all at once, it REALLY gets under my skin. Today it was the combination of events at Corinth, and at Britt's. The idea that Anna's attempt to capture Frau Blücher was foiled by a $2.00 door chain, and that Dr. O could've escaped down the fire escape so quickly was stupid enough (the police commissioner doesn't arrange for back-up on a case like this?), but when the Frau showed up in Corinth, the FIRST thing Holly and Luke should've done was search her. They FINALLY got around to looking through her purse where they found the key, but they never frisked her, or even tied her up. She could still be armed for all they know. Instead, Luke and Holly seem to have fallen into a pattern of having long drawn out, personal conversations when they're in the middle of a break-in! For a minute there, I thought they were going to offer Dr. O tea and finger sandwiches. If whoever was in the basement had a hidden video camera in the living room, they could be halfway to Port Charles by now. As for Holly, Frau Blücher doesn't give a DAMN if she used to be “Mrs. Robert Scorpio.” If she's not scared of Robert himself, she's not about to be intimidated by ANY of his ex-wives.

Britt, on the other hand, is another story entirely. She's finding out the hard way that Anna isn't nearly as gullible as Patrick, and all her denials, protests, threats, and even playing the pregnant card aren't going to get her off the hook this time. Did you catch how fast she switched gears to try to play on Dante's sympathy when she realized that she wasn't getting anywhere with Anna? Only Anna Devane can pull off playing “Bad Cop” with a pregnant woman. Too bad Sabrina, Patrick, Emma, and Felix weren't there to see her hauled off in cuffs, but they'll probably see her cuffed to the bed in the delivery room since there's a better than even chance she'll go into labor in the PCPD interrogation room, and end up in the maternity ward next door (or PLEASE in the same room) as Maxie.

What really gets my juices flowing (in a good way) about the confrontation between Anna and Britt is the admittedly remote possibility that Britt is actually Duke and Anna's daughter, and also Robin's half sister, and Emma's aunt. Think about it. They have a lot in common; brilliant medical minds, abrasive personalities, and the hots for Drake Jr.. I would absolutely LOVE to see that very soapy twist come to light when tests are run to determine her child's true paternity. Fun, fun, FUN!

Cynic-- Have you ever seen a better metamorphosis than Charlotte Baker into Camille Beauchamp? (Now Voyager) Kind of makes Sabrina's make-over pale in comparison.

Lovesdogs, I'm with you--more old Gh'er and less RH!

Posted by Casey1 at Friday, August 16 2013 05:40 PM

Scrimmage..Thanks to you and Rucas for the explanation, but I still think it was badly done. Perhaps some kind of banner across the screen addressing the timing would have helped.
Scrimmage...I didn't think about Connie unconsciously sabotaging her relationship with Sonny to ensure her continued mental health. Whatever explanation Connie gives Sonny for printing the article, right or wrong, will be considered a betrayal for Sonny and we know how hard it is for him to deal with that.

No money to hire a "preacher"? Second time wedding has been conducted by someone "off the street" (Lucy--I know! I know!--and Lesley--I know--puleese!.
