bayou...I will have to try that...I saw some of that at the liquor store...we went to a new one that just opened called "Frisky Whisky" it is a large store & a little bit cheaper than the smaller ones & a GREAT selection...almost bought some moonshine but I could send my cuz the money for the ingredients & he could make me a case of pint mason jars full for the cost of about 2 or 3 of the ones in the store.

Monkey, I agree with you regarding Sonny/Connie/Olivia. Olivia has always had a problem with what Sonny does for a living and is the main reason she kept Dante's paternity from him. Last time I checked Sonny is still in the same business, now all of a sudden she feels she should fight for him? Fight for what? While I like Sonny, he's no catch and at this point Connie and Olivia could do much better. Frankly, the only woman I've always felt is the perfect match for Sonny is Carly. The rest are just fill ins.

Clalvis, I agree. There shouldn't be a baby switch since both Maxie and Brit are having girl/boy. I do think one or both may need some type blood transfusion and will be when it is revealed who the baby daddy is. JMO.

Also depending on who's telling the story of Sonny's first love it changes as to whether it was Connie/Kate or Olivia.

Rans, thanks for info about the Butler. I'll put it on my list of must see. Also thanks for mentioning the Alex and Ani bracelets. I hadn't heard of them and now thanks to you, my shopping cart is full.

Poodles, I purchased Gone Girl and received it already. While I have plenty books to read on my Kindle, I'll be reading it next since I got the actual book. Still love the feel of a book in my hand. Hope you and the family enjoyed a wonderful vacation.

4my~ I agree!!! She didn't like his business to the point of keeping Dante away for YEARS, but now all of a sudden his job isn't a problem?? I have a feeling Dante is not going to like it.

4myJylli & Monkey83 – Let's not forget that as much as Oblivia always had a problem with Sonny's career choices, she has also always been in love with him, and that has never changed. She simply didn't want her son to grow up to be a mobster, which was why she kept his paternity a secret at the cost of her own reputation all those years ago. She moved to Port Charles because of Sonny, and has supported and stood by him ever since, in spite of his profession, or his involvement with other women. Oblivia is the one woman who has never tried to change Sonny because she accepts, and perhaps more importantly, understands the mob lifestyle and culture, even though she neither condones, nor embraces it. She is not frightened by its violence, and in fact, her comment about whether she should break AJ's hands or remove them completely, illustrated that Oblivia is not at all uncomfortable with the concept of “mob justice.” That's why she's the perfect woman for Sonny

Oblivia's only other serious relationships were essentially all about how she dealt with her unresolved feelings for Sonny. Her first affair was with Johnny, a man who for all intents and purposes was a clone of Sonny from his younger days, when Oblivia first fell in love with him. It gave Oblivia a chance for a virtual “do-over,” to finally experience what a relationship with a mobbed up guy would've been like without the complication of having a child to consider. Johnny's ties to the mob didn't rule him out as a potential partner in Oblivia's mind, because her child was now an adult, meaning she was free to follow her heart, wherever it led her.

Her next attempt at love was with Steven Lars, the “nice doctor” of every mother's dream, and Sonny's polar opposite. He was the kind of guy that Oblivia THOUGHT she should be attracted to, even though there were times when she admitted she didn't feel “worthy” of the love of a selfless, heroic doctor who dedicated his life to saving lives. That image of Steven Lars got blown all to hell when Oblivia learned that her boyfriend was not the paragon of moral virtue that she imagined he was, but a flawed human being who had chosen to take another's life. That was when Oblivia realized that Steven Lars WASN'T all that different from Sonny, and that it's as much of a mistake to make absolute, carved-in-stone judgments about anyone's relative morality, as it is to place someone on a pedestal.

Oblivia is a product of her experiences, and she has learned many lessons about herself since she's been in Port Charles. Her time with Johnny taught her that being in the mob is not a deal breaker for her at this stage of her life, just like her relationship with Steven Lars proved that even being with a man who seems to have the highest moral character possible, and who professes tremendous regard for the law and the rules of society is no guarantee that he isn't as flawed in some ways as anyone else. And that's not even taking into consideration who his mother is, and how problematic THAT sort of thing can be for a relationship. Essentially, she's learned that there are two sides to every pancake.

Ever since she got shot, I think Oblivia is starting to realize that life is too short to throw away any chances for happiness when they present themselves, especially based on the same reasons for her previous choices that no longer apply, and that it's okay for her to put her own feelings ahead of her consideration for other people (Connie, Dante) when it comes to doing what's right for herself for a change. She's finally come to the conclusion that if she wants Sonny, it's okay to go after him, and to hell with what anybody else thinks about it.

I'm not a Sonny fan, but if he's the guy Oblivia wants, then I say “Go for it.” It's about damn time!
