Rans...if my memory serves me right, Stone got aids from a girl he slept with way before Robin that was an intravenous drug user...when Robin first slept with him neither knew he was infected. The mobster was Sonny & everyone in town has been around him & then there was Jason & you all know how I feel about Jason...WHO WOULDN'T want to hang around him??? In the end she turned out to be a brilliant dr who has saved many lives & found many cures & until the evil ones took her away she had a beautiful loving family...I think she turned out pretty good!

Oh, I think it may be Frisco interrupting the wedding. She told him no, but she will always have a weak spot in her heart for him. Who knows maybe a postponement is in the works.

Nite All! Tomorrow should be a reveal. Hoping so, anyway.

Part of Patrick is feeling something for Britt and yes, he didn't share the conversation he and Britt had when she confessed to him some of the things she did. He actually hugged her when Sabrina walked in. Sabrina needs to give this guy space. We all know in the end she will not be with him and may turn into a fatal attraction!!!!!

Okay, obviously, Felicia can wear what she wants. It just surprised me that she chose to wear what she wore.

thanks southGA, bayou, and lovesdogs. I am feeling pretty good. I have #5 on Monday. Seems like my whole summer has revolved around chemo so I will be glad when it is all over.

lovesdogs-I would love to see rain. A tad cooler over here-high 80's today. The air is not real great-another lightning fire about 35 miles from me. It is way up in the mountains and it takes the firemen at least an hour to get close to it. We could use lots of moisture on this side of the mountains.

I'm with you! They're getting married in a bar, for Pete's sake! I think so-called conventional wedding traditions become fairly optional at that point. There's just something about weddings that attract snarks, like blood in the water attracts sharks.

    ***off topic***

If you ask me, there's far too much emphasis placed on the minutea of the typical wedding ceremony (flowers, dresses, etc.) than its significance, and its true purpose. I far prefer the informal weddings like Mac and Felicia's, and Sam and Jason's to the huge production weddings (Luke and Laura) with a cast of thousands, and a million dollar budget. Those affairs seem more like theatrical performances than an ancient rite to unite two people in the bonds of matrimony. It's like the wedding industry has decided what a “good” wedding is (expensive and lavish), and everything else that doesn't fall into that narrow category is considered “tacky.” The truth is, most of these so-called traditions only go back as far as the Post WWII boom era, when people were getting married in record numbers at the same time mass media marketing was beginning to influence American culture. Almost everything that the average woman of today associates with a modern “traditional wedding” is actually the product of a mid-20th Century marketing campaign.

In Colonial America, a man would give a woman a thimble as a sign of commitment. She would then remove the top from the thimble to create a ring, but nobody was getting rich selling thimbles, and this WAS America. Prior to WWII, most people got married in their parent's homes, and exchanged simple wedding bands, usually handed down from generation to generation. Back then, the kind of lavish church ceremonies and champagne filled receptions that are standard fare today, were reserved for the nobility and aristocracy in Europe, and the upper crust of wealthy American society, who made up a very small, but powerful minority of the population.

Do you realize that it wasn't even customary for a man to present his intended with a diamond engagement ring when he proposed until the 1930's? That's when the world's largest diamond company, DeBeers launched a multi-media campaign in the movies, magazines, newspapers, and on radio that made women EXPECT a ring from their boyfriends, who have been shelling out 10% of their annual income (also a DeBeers' idea) to buy a rock to prove their love ever since. That's when sayings like “diamonds are a girl's best friend,” and “a diamond is forever” became part of the American lexicon. That latter phrase was written in 1947, and in 2000, Advertising Age Magazine named it “the best advertising slogan of the twentieth century.” No kidding! And a pretty darn effective one too.

My point is that “traditions” are only what we say they are, and they should be viewed in that light.

GeorgiaPeach1951... Thanks for catch up on the 1980's goings on. It helped a lot. I was not a viewer back then.

Scrimmage I just put a guess about who it was... Helena not a spoiler.

lovelymarlena - not a problem. I enjoyed the reminder myself. Some of it I had forgotten.

Lovelymarlena – Well, if we're just guessing about the shocking identity of the wedding crasher, my vote would be for Michael – drunk and naked.
