And the Winner of the “Poor Choice of Words Award” for today goes to a previous winner, Defective Dante Falconeri, for the way he reported his interview with Frodd.

Dante: “I'll take another shot at him later.”

Another shot? At the assumed target of two incompetent snipers who are both still at large? Where were YOU on the night in question, Dante?

The look on Sonny's face when Connie announced that she wanted him back was priceless! It was screaming “Why ME?” What's the old saying about be careful what you wish for? Who says that Sonny never pays for his crimes? That was followed by the “Boing!” look on Connie's face right before she asked Sonny if he had already moved on with Oblivia. Right there, this could've turned into realistic adult drama. Oblivia could've said, “Well we've got a little problem Connie, because I want Sonny too,” but they chickened out and played it like they were a bunch of teenagers who had to deny their true feelings, and all that crap.

I also noticed that the only one crying among the three was Oblivia. THAT should've told Connie something was up. I wonder why Oblivia didn't “see” this coming? This should be good for a few laughs, but I don't think it's going to derail the Sonny and Oblivia Express for long. They were just building up steam in a way I never saw from Sonny with either Connie OR Kate.

Divine Intervention? Maxie's despicable plan MUST be pretty serious if they're bringing out the big guns from the afterlife. I was sure that GhostGeorgie was really just Maxie's conscience until she showed up (invisibly) at Kelly's to haunt Spinelli. Creepy! I was shocked to hear her say she “hated” Ellie because she was so perfect for Spinelli. I didn't think Georgie ever hated ANYBODY. I'm sure she meant it as a compliment, because as I recall, Georgie didn't take a back seat to anyone academically. I loved all her cracks about texting the wrong guy, and how she's still bothered about being dead, and how she doesn't really have much of a chance with Spinelli since she's... well, you know. Nice that they didn't ignore the “dead” horse in the room.

Maxie was FINALLY confronted with the enormity and the scope of what she's planning to do. One can only hope that she'll come clean about everything, first with Dante and Nulu, and then with Spinelli, and let the chips and the tears fall where they may, and the sooner, the better.

Dr. Slimas McClaybat was acting like a pr!ck today, bullying nurses and lab techs, and bragging about how he was “the best there is” when it's HIS “cutting edge” protocol that's not working. All I know is, if he lets Monica's grandson die, he won't be sticking around GH long enough to collect his first enormous check! I guess since Drake Jr. has had his balls cut off somewhere along the way, Slimas gets to be the latest in a long line of insufferable doctors with a god complex who have made their way through GH over the years.

    ***off topic***

None of them ever compared to “Ben Casey,” the archetype TV doctor. He was a big, burly, sour faced bear of an M.D., who looked like he'd just as soon punch you out as treat you, and woe to any other doctor who ever dared to disagree with his diagnosis. He'd usually just growl at them, and they'd go running away like kittens from Heather. The “Perry Mason” of the operating room, I don't think he ever lost a patient. They were too scared that he's get mad at them if they died. His bedside manner could be described as "pure intimidation." What was really scary was if he ever smiled. Brrrr! His patients were usually more afraid of him than their life threatening conditions, which he always cured in an hour. All other hotshot, megalomaniac doctors are just a pale imitation of the original. Many have tried, but there is only ONE Ben Casey.

    ***back on topic***

By the way, WHO was doing the lab tests on Danny that Slimas rushed, and who did Alexis get to swab Frodd and to test his and Heather's samples? Ellie said she took off from work, so don't tell me that Britt's flying monkey, Brad is actually working at his job! I guess it's a day for miracles.

As for the Big Friday Cliffhanger, the surprise was SPOILED for me by several UNMARKED SPOILERS mentioning that Sam's father would soon show up on the scene, but now that it's out there, I guess we'll see if they broke Alexis and Shawn up for a reason. I can't wait to see what they come up with for THIS guy's story, and why Alexis never mentioned him before.

Bayoubtr wrote: “Ellie is showing the hypocritical side of herself... She didn't want some poor child inheriting the mess the previous generations created, but that noble intention went out the window in a hurry. I'd really like to see someone just once stick to their principles.”

Lovesdogs980 wrote: “I think it's ok for Ellie to change her opinion on having children.”

I've got to go with Lovesdogs on this one. Ellie's original objection was based on an academic opinion she formed about the idea of bringing a hypothetical child into today's troubled world, that did not take into account the identities, much less the emotional connection between the child's hypothetical parents.

Now, when she thinks about the subject in terms of giving birth to Spinelli's baby, it's no longer an abstract intellectual exercise. There are real, flesh and blood people involved now, not just raw statistics and impersonal data, so it's only natural that she might start to see things differently.

On the advice of my campaign manager, Fromthestart, I will refrain from addressing the progress of said campaign until such time as when we have our team in place, our finances in order, and a strategy mapped out that will restore our favorite show to its former glory, and its rightful place on top of the ratings, by returning to the kinds of stories and storytelling we, the people demand.

All I can say for now is, I thank you all for your overwhelming and humbling show of support, and I will do my very best to be worthy of your trust and confidence. Just to give you a small hint of things to come, I leave you to ponder these three words...

    “Occupy General Hospital.”

Hey Bayou. Thanks for that. Its been a rough 4 months, but I'm ok. I've been volunteering twice a week to keep busy while looking for a new job and I have some very devastated and depressed teenagers on my hands who had their hearts broken Monday night and I dont know how to make them feel better. I thought Scrimmage might help me explain things to them. Just really worried about them.

Nancy Marie-- Aren't you a writer by trade? You'd make an excellent addition to the team.
