    Catch You On The Flipside.

    Monday, July 01 2013
Tracy packs for a trip, Elizabeth confronts Nikolas, and Alexis offers Shawn an ultimatum.

At GH, Elizabeth receives flowers and asks an on-call nurse to cover for her.

At Alexis' house, Shawn tells Alexis he didn't shoot Olivia and believes it should change everything. Alexis isn't moved and Shawn shooting someone for hire is unacceptable. He thinks there is a double-standard since she has a relationship with Sonny. She defends the father of her child, but admits to loving Shawn. He doesn't want her to throw it all away. She offers an ultimatum for him to quit working for Sonny. Shawn considers it on the condition that she stops working for Sonny as well. Alexis describes her reasons are moral ones and he doesn't have a moral objection to her representing Sonny. Shawn loves Alexis and agrees to her terms. They kiss.

At the Quartermaine's, Kiki waits with Morgan wondering what their parents are talking about. In the living room, Carly denies being responsible for the shooting. Franco knows she was and threatens to tell Morgan if she's not careful. Carly pushes the newspaper at Franco letting him know someone else wants him dead. He suggests she could have hired two shooters. She doesn't want him to put Morgan's life in danger. Franco won't and wants what's best for Kiki. Carly doesn't care what he thinks if the PCPD thinks she's innocent. Ava asks if she cares what her son thinks. Carly reprimands Ava for not calling them when Morgan was in trouble. Ava knows all she needs to know about Carly and Sonny from Morgan who was shipped away for protection from his father. She finds Carly hypocritical. To separate the women, Franco calls Morgan and Kiki in announcing Carly has made a decision. Put on the spot, Carly decides that Morgan can stay. Morgan wonders what they have on her. Ava attempts to save Carly with excuses that she convinced her that Kiki and Morgan are serious and Franco is a changed man. Morgan thanks Carly before leaving with Kiki. Carly promises to find out what game they're playing and threatens they should watch out. Alone, Ava's pleased with herself until Franco mentions he thinks she was the other shooter.

Laura and Nikolas wait for Lulu at Kelly's. She arrives and teases that she found out the sex of the baby. They have to pry the information from her after she rambles on excitedly before announcing they can shop for pink. Nikolas thinks she'll make the best mother. Lulu tells Nikolas how much she loves him and confesses it was her fault that he got shot. Nikolas tells her not to apologize because of the actions of his father. Nikolas leaves the table after Elizabeth enters. Alone, Lulu shares with Laura that she's worried about what Luke didn't say when she told him the news about the baby. They compare notes on what they know about Tracy's health and consider that something's wrong with Luke instead. Nearby, Elizabeth returns Nikolas' phone and wishes she never heard the confession to begin with. She asks why he didn't tell her she wasn't with AJ when he slept with Carly. Nikolas claims he didn't know, but Elizabeth thinks he was eager to leave that out.

At ELQ, Michael confesses to AJ that he saw Kiki topless. AJ advises he stay away from his cousin. Michael wants to be sent out of the country. AJ refuses; he needs Michael more than Duke. Michael's more than a son, he's a friend. Michael reminds him he has Elizabeth but AJ doesn't think that's true anymore because she found out he slept with Carly. Michael spits his drink out surprised at the news. AJ promises it is something that won't happen again and he hopes Elizabeth is not questioning if they are over with Nikolas. Elizabeth arrives and Michael leaves.

In his room, Tracy disturbs Luke's packing and tries to persuade him to let her go arguing the money she gave Jerry is at stake. Luke knows he is a dead man walking and he has more to lose than her. Tracy wants to help save his life but Luke thinks she should keep an eye on her two nephews. They don't excite her or infuriate her more than he does and she reminds him they are partners in crime. He tells her they're wasting time and asks her to go pack. Alone, Luke writes a letter. Tracy returns with luggage and reads the note addressed to 'Spanky' reminding her she's the Bonnie to his Clyde but that didn't turn out well. He'll do this on his own and will catch her on the flipside. He asks her to keep it under her hat. She opens the door when she hears a knock and sees Lulu and Laura.

Tomorrow’s Port Charles spoilers for General Hospital:

Ava suggests Franco watch his step.

Laura asks Tracy for the truth.

Lucy wants to make Nikolas an offer.

Connie thinks Olivia believes Sonny wants her.

Carly asks Sonny if he would have killed her.

    *******************OFF TOPIC***********************

I have no sufficient words to expressmy heart felt grief for the loss of 19 brave young hotshot firefighters here in Arizona. I watched these same young men performing in a training film about a year ago teaching other firefighters what to do as a last resort if confronted by an inescapable fire - deploying their protective shields.....

I probably will not comment on todays show...but I felt the need to say something about these brave souls.

Firefighters ~ There are no words to express the sorrow I felt reading about the death of these brave young firefighters. They go out to fight these horrible destructive fires that destroy our beautiful forests and peoples homes, with no thought of their own safety.Rest In Peace. You are truly Hero's in the best sense of the word.

From-- I too was horrified & saddened when I turned on the news this a.m. and learned of the tragedy. Whatever honor is bestowed on those brave men will never be enough for their ultimate sacrifice. God bless their families.

You probably are not getting all the coverage that we in Arizona are getting and that's understandable as this is truly close to home for us. The Hotshots were out of Prescott, Az and had already been fighting fires in N Mexico and others here in Arizona. They are an "elite" group who go through extensive training and have to be in excellent condition to do what what they do. With all that being said the local media is saying their average age was 22.

Without taking away anything from anybody they are saying this group (and other hotshots as well) are the firefighters equivalent of the Navy Seals....They go in and put one foot in the black and one foot in the green - and it is very dangerous.

    ***************OFF TOPIC***************

Taking off for awhile - just a sad day.

I know it's picky, but would somebody please invest a buck and a half on a six pack of combs, and pass them out to the men on this show, with instructions on how to use it? Sheesh!

Carly, Sonny, and Shawn might not be guilty of that one specific shooting, but I would hardly call them innocent. I can only imagine what everybody must be reading in the paper that seemingly exonerates them. I guess it would have to be a statement from the PCPD.

PCPD Spokesman: “Well yes, we DID find a spent cartridge in a sniper's nest, and an abandoned sniper rifle that matches that cartridge, BUT the bullet taken from Ms. Falconeri's ample breast did NOT match that rifle, from which we can only conclude that there MUST have been a second weapon, and therefore, a second shooter.”

Reporter: “TWO snipers? And they BOTH missed? How do you explain that?”

PCPD Spokesman: “Well, it's either a fortunate coincidence, or really terrible writing.”

Man! The digs are FLYING in every direction, and pretty often they're directed at AJ, but I don't mind because I think his portrayer, Sean Kanan, is the instigator behind it. Perhaps following the example of Frodd and Luke, AJ's trying to lighten up his character with more humor, especially at his own expense. Example: In his hilarious conversation with Michael today, he was suggesting ways for Michael to avoid the Q Mansion.

AJ: “... As for me, we could meet at the office, or at the gym.”

Michael: “You never GO to the gym.”

    AJ: “Shut UP!”

And we had another classic spit-take, only this time featuring Michael. Now THAT'S the way to reveal a “secret.” And of course, when Michael got puffed up about his parents having sex, AJ quickly deflated him with “At least we aren't first cousins! Too soon?”

Ooh! Burn! But it's great, great stuff, and I think it's all in good natured fun.

Speaking of burns, would be out of line for me to mention that when the sun baked and tattooed Nikolas sat down with the fair skinned Elizabeth, they looked like members of two different species? Two, incredibly good looking species, of course. Still, I like her better with AJ.

I want Nikolas to hook up with Britta, his fellow European transplant, and the only girl whose family tree makes the Cassadines look benign by comparison. Talk about a good looking power couple! If Liz can help rehab AJ's image, there's no reason why Nik can't do the same thing for Britt. It might even make Liz a little jealous, hmmm? As for Britta, she'd have to be nuttier than her old man if she kept up her pursuit of Drake Jr., if Nikolas Cassadine came calling.

Dang! Alexis came pretty close to mentioning one of “Those who shall never be mentioned again” when she brought up the time Lucy staked McBat at Kelly's. Alexis also spoke the dreaded words that are the beginning of the end of many relationships.

Alexis (to Shawn): “You have to QUIT ----------------!”

I've heard it before myself, and so have many other guys I know, whose wives, girlfriends, or significant others, in an effort to assert their control over the relationship, tried to force the men to choose between their women and something else IMPORTANT to them, something that they ENJOY that does not include (or interest) those women. Here's a few familiar examples of how you could fill in the blank, with the usual rationale.

Fishing – “It's smelly and boring, and it takes way too much time you could be spending with me and the kids.” (EXACTLY!)

Riding motorcycles – “It's dangerous, the helmet messes up my hair, and there's no room for the kids and groceries.” (EXACTLY!)

Playing in a band - “When are you going to grow up? I don't like you hanging out in bars with those single, musician friends of yours, with all their little groupies running around.”

Drinking – (See “Playing in a Band.”)

Playing fantasy football – (Combination of “Fishing” and “Playing in a Band” substituting “nerds” for “musicians,” and minus the groupies.)

Hanging out in strip joints – “What can you see there that you don't have at home?” (You're kidding, right? Actually, a guy really needs to concede on this one. Nothing good comes from this sort of thing if you're in a relationship.)

Being in the Mob – “I don't care HOW good the money is, you could get killed!” Now if a woman ever says THAT, you know it's true love!

For the second day in a row, Kinky gets the LINE OF THE DAY after her father was grossed out by her threat to lose her breakfast because of her parent's public display of affection.

    Frodd: “Ew!”

Kinky: “EW? Not Ew ME – EW YOU!”

Ahh, as articulate as ever. That's our Kinky.

Luke should've borrowed the ELQ jet, but I guess he doesn't want Tracy tracking him even though it's pretty obvious his first stop will be wherever Jax is, Rome, Monaco, Alaska, Australia, Hawaii. All places I would love to see. If it wasn't for the whole radiation poisoning thing, I'd trade places with Luke in a heartbeat!

Posted by bayoubtr at Monday, July 01 2013 02:04 PM

For being Luke's "Bonnie", Tracy sure doesn't have his modus operandi down very well. Did she really expect him to still be there when she returned? Come on, this is Luke. He pretty much always flies solo.

I thought this was a very slow show. I usually like it when there is lots of character interaction like today, but every conversation was very circular. They just went round and round and nothing was resolved.
Same old AJ, it's Nicholas's fault that Elizabeth found out about the hate sex. Nothing is ever AJ's fault, it's like water off a duck's back. Still thinking about himself, he wants Michael to stay in town where he is very uncomfortable because AJ needs him. If he had any compassion for his son, he would let him get out of town.

Well, we'll, well. Some of us seem to believe that telling a partner what they may or may not do is an exclusively female thing to do. Loooooooong way from the truth.

    ***off topic***

My sympathies for the firefighters in Arizona who lost their lives in the line of duty. I can't imagine what their families are going through right now.

I'll be interested to know how it came about that so many could've been lost all at once, and so quickly, but of course hindsight is always 20-20. Still, we haven't seen these kinds of casualties among firefighters since 9/11. Lightning started the whole thing, and I'm sure the dry conditions make it like a tinderbox out there, but forest fires, like floods, are a natural, enormously powerful, and necessary part of the ecology, and are often beyond man's ability to control, as we have tragically learned today.
