Scrimmage - Great comments. If Sonny were just a little more creative he'd punish Carly by making her take Morgone back into her sole custody.

aussie - The tower dinner sounds lovely. I have height issues, so that venue would be tough for me.

Lily hunter - I'm sure they'd let you in no matter how tall you are.

I understand that Jane Elliot does not ad lib. According to Tony Geary, she likes to know ahead if he is going to change the script. She has delivered two hurtful zingers--the one today where both she and Constance Towers (Helena, of course) used the word "bovine" (slow, stupid, like a cow or ox) to reference Laura (Genie Francis). The other day Tracy delivered the line about AZ (Sean Kenan and his 30-lb weight gain and silly hair style. Not funny--just hurtful. Both these comments are direct digs at the actors as well as the characters. I think the writers should lose their standing in the writers' guild for such gauche writing. Very unprofessional. And everyone knows how self-critical Genie has always been about her personal appearance. Don't know about Sean, but I suspect that remark was hurtful to him. Had to be. A low blow by the writers. Shameful and hitting below the belt unnecessarily.
You can't write for an empathetic character on one hand and hold him/her up to ridicule on the other. Just bad form all the way around. And TPTB ought to be ashamed of themselves.

    Scrimmage, now that's funny!

And Luke (Tony Geary) stood there and listened to the two women ridicule the woman he loves. Bad form. Not the sensitive, vulnerable Luke I know who is (was, anyway) always talking (in character and out) about his receding hairline, his pasty skin, and his weak chin. Boo! Hiss! And shame on Luke and Tony.

Should read "AJ" not AZ. Sorry for typo.

Scrimmage...I had a good chuckle with your last comment to Lily Hunter. Good one.

What if the writers had characters talking about Carly's chopped, straw-like hair and Britt's large teeth? Or Sonny's constant mispronouncement, to wit, "manipplate"? Same principle. Wouldn't Laura Wright be hurt and the other actress also. And what about all the plastic surgery gone wrong, etc., etc.?
I think the way a person looks--a direct or oblique reference should be off-limits--just like on this board. Each of us has something we are sensitive about and we don't want to have it thrown in our face. Well, I'm sure the actors also do not. This practice should stop NOW.
