@Monkey83, maybe this will help you get started:

Whenever most people envision motorcycles, the first picture to come to mind is the one of a big, burly, hairy, leather-adorned guy with an infinite number of tattoos riding atop a big hog. As more time passes, that stereotype seems to be diminishing as more and more women are becoming interested in this mode of transportation.

    ***off topic***

Monkey83 – I'm flattered that you would ask my advice, and I'm happy to help.

Basically, you're writing a commercial trying to convince women to make a non-traditional choice for their personal transportation, and I would approach it from that POV. Perhaps you could start by pointing out that today's modern woman is no longer defined, or confined, by certain stereotypes, and that she has many more options available to her than her counterparts of previous generations who were limited and stifled by the traditions and conventions of society. Maybe you could research the first woman motorcycle rider, owner, or even better, racer, to use as an example of someone they should emulate.

If you didn't want to go with historical, glass ceiling shattering references, perhaps you could point out how, versatile, economical, and fun motorcycles are in general, and how this model in particular, which is designed with the smaller (female) rider in mind, is an even more practical choice for an independent woman.

Remember, this isn't a school paper, it's a commercial, and there are hundreds of examples to refer to all around you. The product is practically irrelevant. It's the images you invoke, like freedom, fun, independence, individuality, etc., that become associated with that product that make it more desirable in the minds of the viewer or the reader.

Hope that gives you couple of ideas. Good luck!

    @ monkey,
I, too, hate papers and had a professor one semester make us do two a week!!! That was no Bueno!! So I know we exactly what you are going through!

I agree with Scim that you basically have to sale it to women, you could use Danica Patrick. I don't know a whole lot about her as I am not a NASCAR fan but I do know she is dominating in a male profession! She races, and wins, with the best of them! I bet you could use her in your paper to identify that women are no longer confined to just mini-vans!! Good luck and let us know how you are doing or if you need more help!! We want to help in any way we can!!
