As a musician who is often offended when other musicians are put out of work by the use of pre-recorded music, or “tracks,” during supposedly “live” performances, it bothered me on GH when they used canned music to back up Starr when they reopened the ill-fated Haunted Star, and more recently, I was disappointed that there were no real musicians providing the accompaniment for the Nurses Ball performers, but I could understand that to a certain extent. However, I cannot forgive a fellow musician who cheats his audience by pretending to play and sing instead of putting themselves out there for real, like the rest of us do every time we take the stage. If they can't perform at their previous level, or live up to the audiences' expectations without subterfuge, then it's time for them to quit, like an athlete who is past his prime. There's no shame in it. It happens to all of us, eventually.

    It's time to quit, Rick.

I'm very sorry that I referred to Rick Springfield as a “competent musician and an experienced showman” in a previous post. As much as Frisco was humiliated by Felicia, or Mac was shown up by Frisco, that's nothing compared to the embarrassment Rick Springfield must feel by allowing Jack Wagner's band to completely blow him off the stage by actually performing live, and sounding pretty good doing it. Springfield on the other hand, not only chose to perform to a prerecorded performance, like every other act on this show EXCEPT for Frisco's, but he chose to lip sync (poorly) to the ORIGINAL recording of “Jessie's Girl,” as if we couldn't tell. I even watched the original video to make sure, and the only difference is that back then RS pretended to play the lead guitar solo on the video, but it's exactly the same thing we heard today. He's even using the same moves he did back then. What a ripoff! What a coward! Sure he LOOKED good, but anybody can stand up there on stage and strike “guitar hero” poses if they don't have to worry about actually playing or singing. They should've written this as Noah Drake lip synching to somebody else's hit, and it would've been an acceptable explanation, but this was eye-rollingly bad!

What is the audience supposed to think of a singer who doesn't have the confidence to perform his signature song live? I'm assuming he can't sing it anymore, and I'll bet anyone who has the misfortune to pay real money to see him “live,” probably isn't actually hearing him sing as well. At least we can assume Spinelli's vocals were recorded sometime this century!

I have lost all respect for this overrated one hit wonder whom I used to think was a singer who dabbled in acting, but now I realize he's an actor who's been playing the part of a musician all this time. If not for Richard Simmons' disturbing and (hopefully) career killing performance, Rick Springfield would've been the lowlight of the entire Nurses' Ball.

TipsyTess ~ Carly was with Sonny, you could see her during Emma and Sabrina's number.

For Faison to take Robin does not mean he has anything against Patrick.....but Anna??

I loved most of the performances today. Magic Milo and the boys were hysterical. Anna and Duke fiery in the Tango.
Didn't care for Sabrina and Emma's number as much.
Since Jack Wagoner was only on for a limited amount of time, it was obvious that Felicia would end up with Mac.
Really sorry the writers chose to portray Richard Simmons the way they did. Would have been better to have mentioned him in passing as they did the Nurses and Doctors that had gone on, than to show him this way.

    Hi everyone,

It took much longer to watch todays show due to all the rewinding I did to watch my favourite acts, Magic Milo and Rick Springfield. Emma and Sabrina were cute as well. Epiphany really let loose and it was funny to watch.
Of course what would the Nurses Ball be if Lucy didn't appear on stage in her undies? and we have Richard Simmons to thank for that.
I don't blame Mac for not totally trusting Felicia's decision and I hope we don't see Felicia thinking and wondering if she made the right choice. Mac deserves better than that. I did feel bad for Maxie, she was counting on Frisco this time.
How much did Ellie hear as she eavesdropped on Maxie and Frisco's conversation?
So Britt is going to drop a bomb on Patrick, as her mother watches with pride. I really don't care for mother and daughter, much less Britt's father Faison and I can only hope Robert, Anna and Robin make them pay dearly one day soon.

WOW! I just watched Rick Springfield sing Jessy's Girl and I know a lot you no not that song again, but I have to say he is still soooo hot and still gives such a performance. He could have sang anything and he would have been great. Love you Rick Springfield !

Is anyone really surprised at Frisco's sudden desire to take off? Losers usually stay losers. I hope Felicia is truthful about wanting to be with Mac.

    off topic Annette Funicello

I lost a little of my childhood today at the passing of Annette, those in my age group probably remember her as one of the biggest stars of the Mickey Mouse club and later paired with Frankie Avalon(be still my heart) in all those beach blanket bingo movies. She struggled with MS since 1992. She was a beautiful person in looks and spirit and will be missed by her fans. RIP Annette

Cbru, good luck tomorrow and my prayers are with you. I loved the Ball today.Milo and the boys, great.Michael didn't do such a bad job himself. Rick Springfield sounded great to me whether it was real or lip syncing, maybe the ones that are not musicians don't take it so badly. I don't think Miss Britch is pg.Why don't they just bring Robin back? It won't matter that she's pg. I still think Maxie is carrying LuLu's baby. The Britch could have planted one egg in Maxie and one in her,who knows?

I realize its just a show but how unrealistic to always make it as if the other person has to stay just because she is now pregnant. The fact is it was simply casual $ex, he could very honorably say....."if the baby is mine you will have my full support but we are not going to be a couple". That is the normal adult responsible thing to do. Again, its a soap so get ready for dumb and stupid.
