    ***************OFF TOPIC***********

You would think I would learn with 5 daughters. AND MRS FROM ALWAYS has to say "good night" last. (No matter how many times I say it)....

    ***off topic***

4evergh – What do you expect from a guy who answers a question addressed to the LADIES of the board? Fromthestart is a very confused person.

Fromthestart – While I can see how as the father of daughters you would have a dim view of any of their persistent suitors, and would take steps to insure their safety, but that wasn't the question. No one said anything about running to Daddy to let him take care of it. Where's the fun in that?

I'll grant you that Todd's actions could be interpreted as stalkerish, but there's no hint or the slightest suggestion that he would get violent and force himself on Carly, and I'm talking about a similar situation where the woman is still very attracted to the guy in question, but she thinks he is wrong, or bad for her. Meanwhile, the guy is trying to convince her that she's wrong. The question for the LADIES was “How do you convince him to give up” without the use of weapons or involving the authorities, including the parental kind?

Casey1 – Thanks for your response. I'm glad to see that someone would admit that they too would “pull a Carly” and fake a relationship to discourage an ex-boyfriend. I think that's called “having a beard” in some circles. I wondered if some women wouldn't go out of their way to neglect their personal hygiene and look (and perhaps smell) their absolute worst around a guy that wouldn't give up, and/or to embarrass him in front of his family and friends with some disgusting habits. It's kind of like doing the complete opposite of what you would do to attract someone. I also thought some women might run a guy off by talking a lot about big weddings and having babies, and having her mother move in with them. It might backfire, but I can personally guarantee you, it's worked before.

    @ Poodles – OT

    Cuban Meatloaf

Ok Poodles, here’ the thing. I could give you the recipe for our Spanish sofrito; which just the start of just about everything we do, but you could actually use a bottle of readymade sauce…i.e. Prego?
Just in case you want it, this is how we make the sauce…
    1 sm. onion – diced
    ½ green pepper – diced
    1 Tsp. of cumin
    1 tsp. Of oregano
    ½ tsp. of paprika
    1 tbsp. of garlic powder
1 sum tsp. of salt or less and add to taste
    2 tbsp. of tomato paste
15 – 16 oz. can of diced or crushed tomatoes
    1 cup of water
MEATLOAF – BTW, it’s done the day before so it can set in fridge.
Ground beef (the amount depends on how large you want to make it…about the same as you would for reg. meatloaf)
3 hardboiled eggs (depending on size, you can use 2 or

In a large bowel mix beef with a pinch of salt
Place beef on large piece of aluminum foil so you can spread it about ¾ to ½ in thick
Then place the eggs in a row across, one behind the other and roll the beef using the foil to help, the same way you see sushi being rolled….then twist very tight….it should look just like a TOOTSIE ROLL when you finish.
Put it on a platter to make sure it doesn’t fall apart and place in fridge overnight so it hardens.

In a large, wide and a little deep pot add about 2 or 3 tbsps. Of oil and sauté till translucent the onions and pepper, then add the spices, tomato paste, tomato can and water stir well and simmer about 3 or 4 mins. Taste to make sure you added enough salt…if you added too much salt, add more water.

In a separate skillet in about 2 or 3 tsps of oil fry (carefully) the meatloaf, but only enough to sear it all around. Once you’ve done that, pick it up and place it in the sauce and cook on med-low for about 30 mins.

I serve it with white rice and Cuban tostones. When you slice it looks pretty because you have the beef on the outside and the egg on the inside.

I know it sounds like a lot but it’s really not. You prepare it the day before and the next day it’s making the sauce, searing the meatloaf and putting it in the sauce to cook. Like you would a pot roast.

Let me know if you don’t understand something. Good luck and enjoy!

The guave thing, you have to go to the area that has the canned fruits and jello, things like that.

Do you have a simple recipe for PEACH COBBLER? I love it but have no idea how to do it. I like little fruit and more biscuit or crust.

With this subject matter. Iam reminded of Paul Simon's song "50 ways yo leave your lover". Carly should play it next time she runs into Tod.

Posted by akita at Saturday, March 16 2013 04:15 PM

Ok, I have no idea why that face with glasses is there but it should be 2 or 3.

scrimmage - I completely ignore people I don't wish to associate with. If that doesn't work I call the cops and file a report.

Rainey-- I go to sleep with the Golden Girls every nite. I set the timer on the TV. If I'm still awake, it's Cheers. I think I could coach the "girls" if they ever miss a line! Have you purchased your office furniture yet? I'm so happy for you, getting to work from home.
