I noticed that Luke was drinking about a week or go so. I was wondering why nothing has been mentioned about him drinking again... Risa, I just watched the miniseries of North and South. I love that show!

Donnysgirl7 – Luke hasn't “fallen off the wagon” so to speak, because he was never on one to begin with. Luke never claimed to have quit drinking, and to my knowledge he's never believed he had a drinking problem at all, or that his drinking had anything to do with Jake's death, and I tend to agree with him.

When he was gone for awhile, he said he went somewhere to get back in shape, and I'm sure that involved exercise and a better diet including less booze, but Luke is not the twelve step program / total abstinence type. He still drinks when he wants to, it's just that he doesn't want to drink as much or as often as before. He believes in self discipline, and taking responsibility for his actions, instead of blaming them on being under the influence of something or another, and he doesn't care what anybody else has to say about it, either. He just does what he thinks is best for him because after all, he's Luke Spencer.

I, too, was wondering about Duke's elbow patches. An old suit from before he was imprisoned for 30 years??! Doubtful, don't you think?

Re Laura's apparent lack of spunk--and tentativeness: The writers didn't give Laura a lobotomy, did they?
I think she will get her spunk back because "all is not as it appears" I hope! Thinking not. I remember that Genie Francis said she was pleased with what TPTB proposed to her when she came back. And I DON'T believe she came back to be a doormat for Scotty--or anyone else. I'm still hoping TPTB will do right by Genie--she been treated badly enough. Would be a slap in the face if that didn't let her be her sparking self with gumption and humor--and WHERE are those scenes with Luke where they get to have that give and take of snappy dialogue and plain fun and humor????

    Happy International Women's Day....

There are many awesome women on this board who have overcome many obstacles, whether health or just life's circumstances.
To all the women who bring fun and humour to the board, have a great day.

It's great seeing the most iconic soap couple of all time, “Luke and Laura” back on the show together again after all these years, and I would REALLY like to see more scenes between just the two of them. I didn't like how we had this big build up about how she was going to talk to Luke about Anna and Duke, only to have Laura chicken out at the last minute. That was very disappointing. I don't really even care if she and Luke get back together as a couple, but I sure don't need to see her with the revolting Scotty Baldwin.

I hope Laura's involvement with Scotty, and their so-called “engagement” is short-lived. I don't think anyone was looking forward to Genie Francis' return so they could watch her acting opposite of THAT scum bucket. We want to see her with Luke – PERIOD!

Of course, seeing how GH IS a soap after all, I realize that the reunion of Luke and Laura couldn't happen without some obstacles placed in their path. It's never been easy for these two, and I wouldn't expect that to change, but I just don't want it dragged out like what we watched Sam and Jason go through not too long ago, where they kept getting pulled further and further apart by other people and circumstances beyond their control until they ran out of time. After months of being forced to watch the two of them go through all the different levels of Hell, they were only reconciled for what seemed like a matter of minutes before Jason was killed off when Steve Burton left the show. I don't know how long Genie is going to stick around, but I don't want her to waste another minute more than she absolutely has to on anybody other than Luke and perhaps Lulu.

What I really want is for Scotty to die in an unfortunate accident at the barber shop.

    CASTING TALK

Brenda and Jax are both back taping. Word is that they are staying around for more than a few weeks.

I agree with everyone, what's up with the patches on Dukes jacket, that's probably why Anna dumped him. She didn't want to be seen in public with anyone who dresses like that.

    Spoiler speculation

I think Luke was right, Scott did send LuLu the ice princess rock. He hasn't gotten over LuLu killing his son, and is working with Helena.

    ***OFF TOPIC**

Rans- I had a feeling you were referring to The Hague and not the Haig. The Hague is a lot like Amsterdam without all the canals. Diverse population, some really sleazy areas. If I remember, the nicer/safer places are in the north part of the city. The last time we were there was when we cycled from Hook Van Holland to Amsterdam with a day or two spent in Hague’s Schevingen (sp) area which is a costal beach community. There are some beautiful, indoor, architecturally gorgeous, shopping centers in the downtown- (should you make the trip I think you would enjoy.

overall the city is safe, American friendly but, like all cities there are parts to use caution & possibly avoid at night. I do think Hague has a division within their own population, almost like the haves and the have not’s. Does he speak Dutch? I’m sure he will have a wonderful experience.
