    Wish Me Luck

    Wednesday, January 02 2013
Spinelli waits for Ellie, Maxie finds a puppy dog, Todd and Carly try to move on and Connie tries to run away with Johnny.

    (ABC)

Emma interrupts Patrick planning New Year’s with Britt on the phone. He lets Sabrina in and they discuss the evening. Patrick appears to kiss Sabrina, but it is just her dreaming. Patrick leaves and Emma confides she’s concerned that Britt will be her new mommy and tells Sabrina she wants it to be her. Sabrina talks with Emma about Robin always being her mom.

Milo helps Spinelli set up on the hospital roof for his evening with Ellie. They discuss women and role-play Spinelli’s evening. Spinelli acts out all he will do that evening up to the point of viewing the Dog Star. Milo compliments Spinelli on his way with women but Spinelli wants to be a sex object too. They decide to help each other and Milo shares some strip moves with him. At midnight Spinelli is alone on the roof and calls Ellie.

Maxie answers a call from Lulu at the apartment annoyed she called again. Maxie asks Ellie if she is going out with Spinelli and Ellie says he is on his own tonight and the rest of his nights. Maxie apologizes for Christmas Eve and tries to talk Ellie into meeting Spinelli. Ellie gets dressed, thanks Maxie for getting through to her and leaves saying, "Wish me luck." Maxie hears a sound outside and finds a puppy. The dog gets comfortable in the apartment and Maxie comes in from the hall and falls.

Britt is done at the hospital when Michael brings Starr in a wheelchair. Michael tells Starr not to worry about Johnny and says the police can handle it from here. He calls Dante about Connie. Britt tells Starr she is fine. Britt rushes to the elevator in an elegant dress when a former child patient wishing her well throws up all over the back of her dress. Starr answers her cell phone and tells her father they are leaving the hospital and that she is okay. Britt calls Patrick to let her know she has another patient after Maxie comes in. Maxie apologizes for bothering Britt at the hospital and finds out she had a miscarriage.

Lulu toasts with Olivia and Steve at The Haunted Star when Olivia has a dog vision. Steve and Lulu become concerned as Olivia gets upset about the dog no one else can see. Todd and Carly show up. Todd doesn’t know why they would go to her ex-boyfriend’s club and jokes he’s being used to get to Johnny. Dante joins Lulu, Olivia and Steve and tells them Connie is on some kind of rampage. Todd and Carly join them and Dante tells them Johnny’s been kidnapped. Todd calls Starr to check on her. Todd and Carly start to argue but both agree that they are moving on. Lulu bumps into Patrick and tells him about Maxie being pregnant. Dante interrogates his mother about her visions. Steve and Lulu interrupt. Steve takes Olivia home to watch the ball drop. At midnight, Todd and Carly kiss, and Dante and Lulu kiss.

In the parking garage Trey talks with Connie. She mentions getting a new start too and tells him she and Johnny had a parting of ways. Kristina asks about the noises coming from the trunk. Connie says it is mice but Trey asks her to open the trunk. She claims the key doesn’t work and she’ll pop it from inside. Michael and Starr show up and see Kristina and Trey. Connie sees them and drives off. The four of them discuss what happened and Starr tells them Johnny is in the truck. They decide to go after Connie.

Patrick returns home and Sabrina wakes up. He invites her to stay to watch the ball drop. At midnight they move in for a kiss.

On the road Connie apologizes to Johnny in the trunk about driving fast. Michael chases after Connie with Starr, Trey and Kristina in the car. The fog is thick. Kristina tries to call the police. On the side of the road Ellie tries to get a signal to call Spinelli about her car breaking down. She’s walking when a call from Spinelli comes in. She screams in Connie’s headlights. Connie screams hitting the breaks. Starr yells for Michael to watch out and he hits the breaks.

Tomorrow’s Port Charles spoilers for General Hospital:

Patrick tries to stop Sabrina from leaving.

Todd and Carly kiss in Todd’s room.

Maxie says Dante and Lulu are supposed to be parents.

Spinelli leaves a voicemail message for Ellie as she lies on the side of the road.

Michael, Trey Kristina and Starr are unconscious.

    Happy New Years my friends!!!

It was a toss up of the highlight today...The little girl threw up on Britt and Milo and Spinelli scenes..lol

So now I do understand how this dog plays in the Maxie role.

I thought Ellie would have moved out of Maxie's apartment by now.

Sabrina said all the right things to Emma. What an awesome actresses this little girl is.

wow, they are starting off the new year with a bang

    Happy New Year Everybody,

I love occasions when the characters dress up. The women looked gorgeous dressed for New Years Eve, they always do, but the men sure clean up nicely. Dante, Patrick, Steve, Spinelli and of course Todd were looking hot.
Sabrina is a natural with Emma, I enjoy their interactions. Delighted Dr.B's plans with Patrick were ruined. I think I heard a collective cheer when that little girl hurled on Dr.B's dress.
Spinelli sure set up a romantic setting with Milo's help, not totally surprised the way things turned out, considering the meeting was based on the movie, An Affair to Remember. Spinelli, nothing good comes out of getting drunk on peppermint schnapps.
The dog showing up everywhere is confusing to say the least, however cute it is. I feel bad that Maxie miscarried Dante & Lulu's baby, but I'm wondering if the dog symbolizes Maxie was pregnant with more than one baby, much like a dog would have a litter. At least that's what I'm hoping it means.

Happy New Year Everyone!!! haven't seen today show yet but wanted to post Happy 2013 to all. Hope everyone had a safe and fun night.

I finally feel like we got a holiday episode from the writers, albeit dark. That's ok with me, I always find New Year's a bit melancholy! Thought the Shawn Colvin song was a great pick.

Spin and Milo were so funny! I really like Milo a lot and would like to see more of the character.

How many car accidents can we have on this soap?! Really if you live in Port Charles, stay off of the roads! I'd have a helicopter in my back yard!

Speculation- I have a feeling Spin and Maxie are going to meet up, both in a bad way and end up together. Maxie will get pregnant and try to pass off the baby to Lulu and Dante as theirs, because she feels guilty. By the way, that little fall caused no miscarriage.

While watching Ellie walk down the road talking about dew points and fog, it came to me; she's modeled after Velma on Scooby Doo.

Happy New Year to all, my friends! May 2013 be a better year for you than 2012.

I'm gonna state the obvious... why is it that every time something happens with a Zaccara, Michael is in a car chasing someone? I mean, really? Really? What exactly do they plan on doing? Perform a citizens arrest? Please.

Maxie had a miscarriage. I really wish they wouldn't have done that. The last thing I need to see is Lulu crushed again.

They are going to kill Ellie? They're going to kill Ellie? Nnnnnoooooooooooo! I like her with Spinelli and now I am of the opinion that if they had this planned all along, they could have saved themselves some trouble and just allowed Spinelli to pine away for Maxie. This is bull. Why do you need to kill Ellie just so Spinelli and Maxie can end up together? I'm so angry right now. This sucks!

A patient threw up on Dr. Britch? Priceless and it couldn't have happened to a nicer person.

Gee....Another car crash, never had that storyline before! Oh and...Port Charles has really bad cell phone service..

Have to say I'm really disappointed about Maxie's miscarriage...What was the point of the story? She was only pregnant for a week. Seems like a wasted opportunity to me.

It's pretty obvious to me that this was the cliffhanger episode that was supposed to be the last one shown before the holiday break, and that we are still one episode behind, just like we have been ever since the show was pre-empted two weeks ago. I don't believe the theory of some posters that they're re-editing shows, and leaving some things out. They wouldn’t go to all that trouble.

I know one thing's for sure; every time we see a scene shot from inside a car, you know nothing good is going to come of it. This is SO silly. Ellie goes from their apartment to the hospital and her car breaks down, but Maxie goes to the hospital from the same place and doesn't see Ellie on the way? She beats her there? If Ellie was in such a hurry, why did she take the long way via a winding road? Cue the fog...Check! Cue The Worst. Cellular. Service. EVER!...Check! Have Ellie stand in the middle of the road while Connie talks to her trunk and Nuke drops her phone....Check! Screeching tires and mangled cars, and everybody unconscious...Check! There's your car crash cliffhanger, right by the numbers.

    Other observations:

Emma is a World Class eye roller! She is too cute for words, and she's VERY perceptive.

Lulu – WOW! If that dress was any shorter, it would be a ribbon in her hair, but she sure looks hawt! I guess they figured out that she gets to dress better as a nightclub owner than she would as an evidence room clerk.

Britt is not an ER doctor, so why would Michael bring Starr to her? Of course there was no brain damage on Starr's scans. There would have to be a brain to damage!

Having a sick little girl puke on Dr. Britt was gratuitous, disgusting, and completely unnecessary, but I'm sure a lot of viewers who think Britt is the embodiment of all that is evil enjoyed it.

A green faced Ellie wearing a Snuggie covered with peace signs? Spinelli and Milo dancing? Are we sure the world didn't come to an end after all?

In the interests of full disclosure, looking back over the last year, and certain recent events made me more than a little crabby, and even more cynical than usual. I was eager to bid 2012 a not-so-fond farewell, even though I thought the outlook for the future is not particularly bright either. As far as I was concerned, anything would be better than the last twelve months, but I was not really looking forward to it. Leave it to GH to give me a reason to be optimistic.

A DOGGIE!! It looks like we're actually going to have a sweet little (for now) poochie on the show, instead of yet another baby. After all my years of repeating the mantra “More Pets, No More Babies!” it looks like the vibes I've been putting out have finally resonated with TPTB. Maybe it IS going to be a better year!

I feel sorry for Lulu, Dante, and Maxie, but let's face it; Maxie doesn't need to be pregnant, and Lulu and Dante aren't as ready for kids as they think they are. But they're ready for a DOGGIE! Yay!

Also, to answer the question about why they don't show older episodes over the holidays instead of repeats of recent shows is because the network would have to pay the actors who are no longer on the current cast if they broadcast an episode in which they appeared. I think that also applies to the writers, the producer and the director as well. It cost them nothing to show a repeat of a show with the current cast and crew, so it's a no brainer financially. Cable channels like SoapNet that show classic soap episodes have package deals with the rights holders to those shows, and the actors on them do get royalty payments when they're aired, but it's at a much lower rate than it would be for airing an occasional classic episode on network television. It's all union stuff.

    speculation

I still think the dog is a jackal, just like Spinelli. If Maxie and Spin have grief sex the same day as a miscarriage, all I can say is yuck and ouch.

huskergirl, I totally agree about the cell service. I swear they could be standing under a cell tower and not have service.

I knew this surrogacy story was gonna be stupid!

Don't worry Little Emma, Britch is NOT going to be your new mommy!
