I loved this beautiful tribute to Edward, which was also a look back on the entire history of the Quartermaines, and what they have meant to the show over the years, something which, until recently, had been dismissed and forgotten all too easily.

It was wonderful seeing Ned and Skye, with Lila's namesake, and to hear them all descend into their comfort zone of constant bickering, with everyone shouting accusations and insults at each other while no one is hearing a word of what anyone else is saying. Listening to that felt like putting on an old pair of comfortable slippers that you hadn't worn in a long time, and finding out they still fit, and feel really good.

Judging from the mixed reaction to AJ's return, I guess he's as polarizing a figure in his own family as he is on this very board. One thing's for sure, AJ's appreciation for Alice is through the roof. Between sleeper holds and swinging a mean baseball bat, AJ is quickly becoming one of Alice's biggest fans.

It's really good to see Ned hasn't mellowed, and it's great to have him back again. He was always one of my favorites, right up there with Luke, and I hope he stays around. I also appreciated the way he caught us up on Brooklynn, Lois, and Dillon as well. Ned and AJ sure picked up right where they left off, as if no time had passed at all. They were squabbling and taking shots at each other just like old times. Great stuff.

Tracy was absolutely magnificent today. What a performance! She was at times heartbreaking, then typically snide, and finally hilarious. When Heather was threatening Skye and said “Don't take a step if you want to see Skye alive,” Tracy cracked me up when she was actually considering the options.

Tracy: “Well...? (then innocently to Monica, who was giving her the evil eye) What?” Now THAT'S what I call an actress with range.

The best part of the whole show for me was when Tracy was alone at the crypt, talking with her deceased family members, and lamenting how she is the last one left who remembers the times they spent together. It's hard to think of Tracy and Alan as children, much less Edward and Lila as young parents, but Tracy made us see them just as clearly as she could. It was wonderful!

When we lose an elderly loved one, I think it's very important to remember that they were not always old and frail, but were young once themselves. At one time they were children, with their whole lives before them, then teens with dreams their own parents couldn't imagine, and finally young adults whose dreams turned into plans and ambitions, and hope for the future as they started families of their own. It's the path we all follow, each in our own way, on our separate but shared journey to the common end we all face.

The final scenes, with the spirit of Edward delivering pizzas of all things, and then leading his family in a song of gratitude for life's blessings one last time before he ascended to his reward with his beloved Lila by his side, was as moving as anything I've ever been fortunate enough to have seen on television.

Moments like that are why I love this show so much. Bravo to all those past and present who have contributed their talents over all these years to make General Hospital the unique experience that it is. I am so very grateful to have been the beneficiary of all your efforts, and I hope they will continue well into the future.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Believe it or not, I actually watched yesterday’s episode. I just had to see Carly strangling Connie with the undies. I f/fwd’d the rest of it except Sam and Edward’s scenes. I loved Monica’s delight at Jason being baby Cheeto’s real father. She was right. It didn’t matter anyway. I have a feeling there will be a battle over Edward’s Will. Sam/Cheeto will be a big part of it. I just have to see the last scene of the ghosts of Lila & Edward going off into the distance.

I might catch today’s Ned scenes. I like the actor and he has aged well. He’s a very handsome man.

Heather is like Jack in the Box. You never know when she’ll just pop up. And here’s Alice again just when you need her. Her wresting prowess sure comes in handy. So what happened to the real Will?

Olivia and her hallucinations are getting old.

Sonny is delusional. He’s saying he’s a better father than AJ. He inadvertently caused Michael to get shot. Just like Liz inadvertently caused Jake’s death. Both are guilty in a sense.

    No bleach required today. Bless.

I just watched the final scene. I had to. It was so well done. Obviously they weren’t the real actors but the audience believes it. Beautiful and heart-warming. Perfect.

    RIP John Ingle 1928 – 2012

    Dexdon: You are 100% correct.
Sonny is the only one not giving up on a very sick woman. If it was a physical illness instead of a mental illness, he'd be a hero.

Heather changed the will. That's why she was singing " I know something the Q's don't know", otherwise , no reason to have her on today.

Love Sonny and Shawn teaming up. Two very hot, very cool guys.

Sonny was never afraid of Edward. That's funny! Sonny went to his son to offer his condolences , his son lost a family member. It was the classy thing to do. It's oblivious Sonny had no where to go but, he didn't want Michael to worry. When Michael started getting testy, Sonny took the high road and started to leave as to not hassle his grieving son. Sonny is being awesome during this whole ordeal. Can't wait for him to get Kate back!

Sam, Cheeto & Michael are the new generation of Quartermaines. I love it.

WatFan, OMG! I was thinking the same thing about McBain’s voice. I loved his husky voice on OLTL, now it irritates me too. And the character annoys me on this show. Again, I loved him on OLTL. Go figure.

    Risa, god bless your nana.

    *************** RUMOURS ****************

    Ric Hearst may reappear.

With MB’s contract still unsigned, there is a possibility Ted King may return as Alcazar taking over Sonny’s role as mob boss of Port Charles.

    Happy Thanksgiving Eve Everyone,

Like Scrimmage I want to get my first thought out there before I go on to the truly best tribute to a character and actor I've ever seen on GH. IMO Sonny isn't holding Kate/Con captive. I think Shawn took her to a mental health facility - interesting if that facility was in Switzerland run by Frau Blucher (horses whinny).

Not that I was pleased to see Heather again, but she did provide the reason that Q's are once again having pizza for Thanksgiving dinner. Better that, than the table tipping last year. Did Edward place a standing order in advance or did Jason drop off the pizza's on his way to track down the man who shot him and used his foot to attempt to drown him?

I was such a pool of tears after I watched the show today, there was only one thing I could do - start dicing the onions, celery, and mushrooms for the dressing. I don't want the SO calling the white coats to take me away for sobbing over the tribute to Edward.

The board is quiet tonight. Where is everyone?

Funny Sam forgets the reason John is without his wife is because of HER making out with him.........he was at fault too but, Sam was just as much to blame. She shouldn't have been throwing herself at him and sending mixed messages for months.
Would be nice if she could at least be civil to the guy.
He's without his family, without a job and she kicks him out of her home.
