I don’t know about the rest of you, but I really like episodes which feature lots of characters and touch on multiple storylines. Sometimes an episode will focus on a handful of characters who are not particularly interesting and I tune out until the next day. Before today’s credits, we had interactions between (1) Steve and Olivia, (2) Lulu and Robert, (3) Spinelli and Maxie, (4) Monica, Tracy, and A. J., (5) Sam and Michael, (6) Faison and Anna, and (7) Sabrina, Liz, and Patrick. I especially liked how, as the program progressed, many of these characters interacted with those form different groups.

Of course, that also makes it hard to discuss everything that happened today. So, just a few thoughts.

Robert, Olivia, Steve, Lulu, Liz: Finally, someone is actually listening to Olivia. Hurray for Robert Scorpio. It’s nice that they acknowledged and made use of Liz’s artistic abilities. (Don’t hate me for saying something nice about Nurse Webber). And Liz’s sketch of Olivia’s vision was a perfect portrait of Faison.

Spinelli and Maxi: I actually liked Maxie’s expression of her feelings for Spin at the beginning of the episode. She truly seemed sincere and lucid. In the past, she would have immediately attacked the other woman (in this case, Ellie), but instead acknowledged that she likes her.

Yes, Maxie became more emotional when the Jackal didn’t immediately reciprocate her feelings, but I think she is really trying to be honest (although Lulu had to suggest that option to her).

Of course, as Damian notes, Maxie is “mercurial” and has a history of changing her mind and affections daily. So, I am also glad that (so far) Spin is cautious about Maxie’s declarations in spite of her acknowledgement that she has taken him for granted.

Ellie and Sabrina: Whenever new characters seem nice and well-meaning, I worry that down the road we will discover they are psychopaths or serial killers or have hidden agendas. Can anyone say, “Dr. Ewan Keenan.” I like Ellie a lot. I wonder if she is too good to be true. Is there more to that previous romance that hurt her emotionally? Yesterday, someone suggested that Ellie might turn into nerd-Fatal Attraction villain if she is jilted. Remember, Spin’s last kindred spirit, Winnifred Leeds, initially had a hidden agenda. She was an FBI agent using Spin to get at Jason/Sonny.

I also like Sabrina. She is the anti-Britt (sweet, caring, motherly). Literary reference of the day: Sabrina is Jane Eyre—the plain Jane governess who shows affection for her Master’s ward and Britt is Blanche Ingram, the avaricious socialite who goes after Rochester for his many and disdain’s his adopted daughter. Anyway, today, Sabrina came across as very sincere and well-meaning. However, I wonder about her backstory. Is Juan Santiago really her cousin? It seems obvious that, at some point, Sabrina will undergo a makeover which will reveal her beauty. Her bushy eyebrows and glasses make me think of the Ann Hathaway’s character in The Princess Diaries, who is transformed into a Princess by the end of the film.

Tracy: Ever since she tried to kill Edward years ago, I have disliked almost everything Tracy does. That said, I really enoy her character. And, since I am still not warming up to A. J. (despite what Carly and Sonny have done to him, he did kill his father), I didn’t mind Tracy’s subterfuge. We’ll see what happens.

Anna and Faison: Please talk to Robert right away. He has a picture you need to see.

    Have a great weekend, everyone.

I'm hoping that maybe, just maybe, Anna knows that Duke isn't Duke and she's just playing along. Maybe she knows he has something to do with Robin. Just don't want to think of her being so gullible.

Hi everyone. I didn't enjoy this one as much.
I don't want Spinelli and Maxie together. they have lost that spark for me.

AJ & Tracy are going to be really interesting.

Funny how Michael is AJ's number champrion all of a sudden. Don't forget who raised you boy!

DerekWalker, I agree about Sabrina. She looks like she's in costume; she even had a silly plastic hair clip like a toddler wears.

Can I just take a rain check on HAVING to either like Monica, AJ, OR Tracy ???? I really don't like any of them.

Agreed Jumps/Agreed Cowboys Fans. SHUT UP SAM! Yes, I know everything AJ did. But I remember everything SAM did too. So who is she to be compared to? And I remember everything Jason, Sonny, and Carly did. And Sam still paints Sonny with the same brush that every woman Sonny's introduced to his third leg uses. He’s so passionate, so sexy, so emotionally and physically abused as a child. He's a gangster, a criminal, a murderer, and in my humble opinion can be very abusive toward women. And she stands there and tells Michael that even with everything Sonny and Carly have done it’s nothing compared to what “AJ” has done???? Really, cause I think that bullet Carly took to the head during Morgan’s birth probably hurt, that bullet Robin took to the shoulder probably hurt, and that bullet Dante took to the chest made Dante poop his pants. Are you kidding me? And seriously, has she forgotten the conversations she had with Jason where Jason regretted the choices he made in regards to AJ? I mean she remembers EVERYthing Jaaaason related. She doesn’t remember that. Dang it, every time I start to like that wench…she goes and opens her mouth. If Alexis hooks up with Shawn she’d better not tick Sam off again cause you know how she bumped and grinded with her mom’s other husband. Rick anyone?

From what I hear Tracy is in for a rude awakening so, let her keep up with her crap.

I hope Spinelli doesn’t take Maxie back. I hate when a man finally finds his gonads only to lose them again. Spinelli, you have someone who looks at you and sees a Prince without anyone else having to tell her you’re a Prince. Stick with Ellie.

And I agree, they dumbed down Anna for no good reason.

The biggest cliffhanger to ponder over the weekend isn’t if Faison and Anna will do the deed, but what Spinelli will say now that Maxie has declared her love for him. She's putting poor Spinelli in an impossibly awkward position. He has already said that while Maxie has his heart, he knows that she will always end up stomping on it, just like she already has several times in their past. He has no reason to expect a different result this time, and he would be correct to assume that Maxie's current feelings are based more on the fact that Spinelli has moved on, than this sudden realization that he's her “Mac.” If he breaks up with Ellie and takes Maxie back, it won't be long before things go back to business as usual, with Maxie taking Spinelli for granted, and taking advantage of him without regard for his interests or feelings. Spinelli may be good for Maxie, but she is most definitely not good for him.

I'm confident that Spinelli will NOT break Ellie's heart the way that Maxie broke his, and I can only hope this hasn't poisoned the SpinEllie relationship just as it's getting started. I don't want to see Spinelli leading Ellie on, faking his feelings while he secretly pines for her roommate. The only one pining away should be Maxie, because she only has herself to blame for not hanging on to Spinelli when she had the chance, and actually even driving him away. Perhaps she'll take her mind off of her broken, borrowed heart, and volunteer to carry Lulu and Dante's baby.

Did AJ kill Alan? I thought Alan died because of the Metro Court seige? Am I wrong? Also, if Tracy tried to kill Edward, what's her problem with AJ shooting Edward? Is it that she's the only one who can kill their parent?

Poor Sabrina (Yes I did say that) she has to pretend NOT to be crazy about Patrick and is stuck with the image of being in love with a "stupid" (and I mean stupid) doctor....Well her dreams can't go down any further can they.

I can't single out any one post, but they are all great and enjoyable reads.
