You echo my sentiments exactly. Your post was beautifully and eloquently said.

to Scrimmage: You posted you may in the future want suggestions on jewlery and clothing. we gave my MIL's things to the really nice retirement/nursing home she lived in. most of the ladys were in her generation and appreciated not only having a memory of her but age approperate things. Later when you are ready you might check out some of them in your area.

to pumpkingirl: off topic it sounds like the person who said that to you must not have been very close to anyone to say something like that. I know it is hard to find the right words to say to someone at a time like that, but I think you are right they really were not your friend.

scrimmage...What 4ever did is what my mom did w/my grandpa's stuff. he lived in a home & she gave his stuff to his roommate. Even his scooter. The man was so happy. When that time comes you should talk it over with your sister. See what she thinks.

scrimmage as an idea you could contact an auction and have pieces auctioned, or do an estate sale. and donate the most or all proceeds to her favourite charity or cause or towards something she would have wanted.

i actually feel sorry for her. while it was annoyingly inappropriate, it shows the attachment problems she has in her life. she is still in my life, is a relative.

as they say you can pick your nose, but not your family.

    OT ****Scrimmage************

When a parent passes, words seem to fail to express how we feel. I know you and your family will make it through this difficult time and be sustained by your memories and all the gifts she imparted to you. Thanks for sharing her with us a bit on the board, loved hearing your stories of her life. Think you were blessed to have each other. Will be wishing you strength and peace at this difficult time.

    OT Scrimmage**********

On her things, take a bit of time to think things over. Some family members might like something as a remembrance of her. You can check out resale shops (often consignment) that focus on vintage fashions, and or consult with people who value items in estates. Mostly don't make rash decisions that you will regret later.
