Let’s Be Better.

Wednesday, June 06 2012
Starr confronts Kate, Todd keeps the truth from Téa and Matt and Maxie spend their first night together as husband and wife.

Sam takes the baby from Jason outside the house and looks at him. This isn’t her baby. Their son looked right at Sam after he was born, and he looked just like Jason. She insists this is not the baby she gave birth to but he does not believe her. Jason leads Sam, who is distraught, off.

At the hospital, Todd tells Starr about Kate’s involvement in Cole and Hope’s death, as well as her DID alter, Connie. He overheard Kate and Alexis talking. So he threatened Sonny with headlines about Kate to force him to get Michael to change his testimony. Todd thought she had a right to know even though he violated his pact with Sonny. But he has another secret for her. When you care about someone, you tell them the truth, even if it is unpleasant. It gives them the opportunity to start to heal. Starr has to leave and Todd implores her not to exact revenge. Maybe they can be better people and not do things they will later regret.

Connie and Kate fight in her room at Shadybrook. Kate tells Connie that love makes anything possible, including forgiveness. Connie assures her that Sonny will despise her but Kate tells her that he knows she is real, so it doesn’t matter. Connie wonders why she let Johnny talk her into it any for so little reward. Kate asks what Johnny made her do, but suddenly Starr comes in dressed like a nurse. She knows she is the one who killed Cole and Hope. Kate tells her she did it, but does not remember anything because she has a mental illness. Starr actually understands because of her cousin Jessica. It was easier to blame Sonny because he is such a bad person. But she can’t blame Kate. But, someday Kate will remember everything Connie did and she will have to live with it.

Matt and Maxie are in their hotel room, ready to celebrate their wedding night. He wishes Maxie could plan her own wedding and regrets he has denied her that. She feels the wedding is not as important as the person you marry. While Matt answers the door to room service, she remembers Spinelli’s hope for her to have a real wedding someday, to someone who really loves her. She snaps out of it as Matt wheels in the room service. He pops the champagne and has a flashback to the party boat. Then he remembers it all. He thought it was self defense, but now he knows that is not the case. He takes a shower because he feels dirty. They get into bed and he just wants to sleep. They wish each other a happy wedding night and Maxie rolls over and cries.

Out at a bar, Felicia and Mac have a drink to celebrate Maxie’s release, although he does not think Matt is good enough for Max. Felicia is worried about her too. You always know when something isn’t right with your kids. He wonders if she is going to leave now but she and Maxie are in a good place. She wonders why women aren’t pounding down his door. He tells her there have been a few women, but none of them were her. They had a great life for a while and maybe could again. Spinelli stumbles in, incredibly drunk. He proposes a toast to the happy newlyweds, and to him, the fool who brought them together. Mac and Felicia try to stop him. Mac tells him they are just going through a rough patch but their friendship is one for the ages.

In her hospital room, Téa holds her baby and doesn’t think her looks like her - or Victor. Todd shows up and wishes for everyone’s sake he looked like Victor. She demands that he tell her what is bothering him, but Epiphany comes in to take the baby back to the nursery. She insists Todd do it and when they leave, they run into Jason and Sam. Todd watches from the side while Epiphany takes the baby from a crying Sam. A doctor looks her over and asks Jason for details about the delivery, then takes her to a room. Epiphany finds Todd and he asks if Sam will be okay. She tells him not really since there is nothing like losing a child. He wants Téa to transfer her to Llanview, but Epiphany refuses. They go over the birth certificate and she names him Victor. Meanwhile, Jason joins Sam in her room and he tells her she is going to be okay. She doesn’t understand how this happened. Why didn't John come back with the car? A nurse comes and tells him to leave, but before he does, she wants to name the baby Jason, after his father.
