Sleeping With The Enemy. Thursday, March 29 2012

Sonny lashes out at Carly, McBain looks for Starr and Mac runs out of options with Maxie.

Michael tries to get rid of Starr when she comes to his place. He explains that Sonny's trial starts soon and he asked him to stay away from her. They discuss Sonny and Michael asks why she's there. She explains that she has no one to talk to at home and she keeps expecting to hear Hope's giggle. At least in Port Charles, she knows Hope and Cole are gone. Michael asks her to stay and commiserates by opening up about Abby. They're interrupted by a knock on the door from McBain. Starr hides as Michael greets John, who is looking for Starr. Michael invites him in, but insists he hasn't see her. McBain says he seems like a nice kid, but he's a terrible liar. As John continues to grill Michael, Starr emerges. McBain wants Starr to head back to Llanview, but Starr won't budge until after the trial. Exasperated, John tells her to call Blair and to call him if she needs anything.

In his cell, Anthony giddily assures his wife he's getting out of there. He asks to use her phone, but Tracy won't let him until he signs the divorce papers. He warns that he will get out of there and when he does, she won't want things to get ugly. A cop enters before Anthony can grab the phone and leads him away.

Maxie continues to insist she's guilty of Lisa and Officer Briggs' murder at the station, as Matt, Mac, Alexis and Spinelli try to convince her to change her statement. Maxie says she can prove it and gives Mac a number to call. Mac returns after calling the number and a man is brought in. The man confesses to writing Officer Briggs' confession/suicide letter and points to Maxie when asked who paid him. The forger leaves and Mac releases Anthony. Mac is left with no choice but to arrest Maxie.

Kate calls Ewen to her office and plays Johnny's voicemail for him. Worried about Connie's plan for Sonny, Kate wonders how they're going to get rid of her alter.

In bed, Carly questions Johnny over the lipstick she found on his collar. Johnny makes up a story about one of his strippers and Carly relents. Carly laughs that she thought he was sleeping with Kate Howard. Johnny assures her she has nothing to worry about, but jokes he might do it just to see the look on Sonny's face. Carly gets up to leave, as Johnny gets a call from Kate pretending to be Connie. He says he was pretty angry when he left his message. "Connie" wants to get together, but Johnny hangs up when Carly emerges from the bathroom.

After Kate gets off the phone with Johnny, Ewen urges her to deal with her issues, but Kate just wants to help Sonny. Ewen suggests she tell Sonny what's going on, but Kate doesn’t even know what's going, so how can she explain it to him? Johnny enters and Kate gets rid of Ewen. She then puts on her Connie act and comes on to Johnny. He says he changed his mind because of Carly. When "Connie" looks confused, Johnny asks if he's really talking to Connie. She convinces him she's Connie and urges him to go along with their plan. Johnny says he's out and leaves. Ewen returns to make sure Kate's okay. She says the good news is Johnny called off the plan, but the bad news is she doesn't know what Connie has in store for her and Sonny.

Jason fills Sonny in on Natalie and Liam at the penthouse. Sonny declares he wouldn’t go after his family, but he can't have McBain come after him right now. He has to be dealt with. Jason needs to know why McBain hates him. Sonny explains how his pursuit of him got personal. Carly stops by and promptly gets into it with her ex over how to handle Jason, post surgery. Jason stops them because they have to figure out how to help Sonny during his trial. Sonny suggests starting with Carly because she is sleeping with the enemy. Carly defends her relationship with Johnny. Sonny wonders if Carly even thinks he's innocent. Carly wants to believe it, but isn't sure. Sonny reminds her he knows better than to just leave his gun lying around. That might be, but Carly knows Johnny didn’t do it either. Sonny shakes his head and says, "Sleeping with the enemy" and leaves.
