John McBain hits town, Maxie breaks down to Ewen and Johnny gets caught in the middle of Kate and Connie.
John McBain arrives at the courthouse and fires his gun to draw Todd's attention. Todd keeps his gun on Sonny despite Blair and Starr's pleas for him to stand down. McBain orders him to drop his gun before he drops him. Carly asks Blair who the hell McBain is. Blair tells her he's from the Llanview PD. The PCPD shows up and John informs them of who he is and that he is there to arrest Todd for jumping bail. The cops handcuff Todd, as Starr confronts Sonny about killing her boyfriend and daughter. Blair whisks Starr to the side and John offers his condolences about Cole and Hope. John relays that he got in touch with Cole's parents and informed them he was in an accident. Blair wonders if John knows Sonny is a known mobster. John says, "Yeah, I know Sonny Corinthos." Meanwhile, Carly tries to convince Todd to let the courts deal with Sonny. Todd thinks Sonny deserves to die for killing his granddaughter and vows to make him pay. Across the way, Michael thanks Starr for trying to talk Todd down. Starr was trying to save her own father, not his. Michael can see that she is the one good thing about her dad. Starr tells Michael not to blame himself for what happened. She'll see him again when she comes back to testify. Alone with John, Sonny says, "It's been a long time McBain." They make cryptic remarks about their past as ex-FBI agent and suspect. John warns Sonny that Cole was like a son to him so if he finds out Sonny did kill him, he will do whatever it takes to bring him down. Carly's interest is piqued by the men's interaction. She asks Sonny about it, as John leads Todd away and back Llanview.
At the Drake house, Matt worries about Maxie to Liz, as they go through pictures of Robin. Liz creates a slideshow and asks Matt to watch it with her.
Maxie literally bumps into Ewen at the hospital and sees his file on Kate. Ewen can't discuss it with her and asks her not to say anything about it. Maxie asks for a favor in return. She wants specifics on how Robin died. He reiterates what happened, but she starts panicking because she wants different specifics and for her not to be dead. Ewen wonders if there's something she's not telling him. She talks about how important Robin was to her and Ewen offers to see her professionally. Maxie passes, but he suggests talking to someone impartial can be helpful. Matt and Liz show up and see Maxie. Liz thanks her for clearing her name with Monica and offers her condolences for Robin. As Liz talks about how Robin used to rely on Maxie's advice, Maxie runs off in tears. Matt follows to console her.
Steve tells Olivia about Johnny's blackmail at the hospital. He's not sure how much longer he can stall Johnny. Olivia says she'll talk to him. Steve doesn’t want her involved, but Olivia reserves the right to stand up for the man she loves. Steve reacts to her declaration, but Olivia tries to brush is off. She says actions speak louder than words.
Tracy shows up at the Zacchara penthouse looking for Johnny and is surprised to find Anthony. They discuss the accident and how Anthony worries about Sonny trying to finish him off. Tracy wants Anthony gone so she starts calling Sonny to point him in his direction. Anthony taunts that if he ends up dead, the cops will find the paper trail he left regarding her shady financial dealings. Olivia shows up and overhears Tracy and Anthony discussing their situation in the hallway. She leaves before they see her.
At Kate's office, she accuses Johnny of setting Sonny up. He denies it but takes joy in detailing her seduction of him to a confused Kate. He succeeds in bringing Connie out. She thinks he's there to sleep with her, but he turns her down. Connie texts Sonny to come over and tempts Johnny to stick around so Sonny can catch them together. Connie starts kissing Johnny, who responds. As they make out half naked on her desk, Kate returns and freaks out. She slaps Johnny, who asks what's the last things she remembers. He wonders where Connie is. She yells that she is Kate and orders him out.
