All I Got Was A Bloody Wedding Dress.

    Friday, September 16 2011
Kate is haunted by the past, Liz and Maxie attempt an escape, and Luke eavesdrops on his kids.

Sam returns to the penthouse, as Spinelli beats himself up over not being able to access his cyber skills. He lies and tells her he's accessed the surveillance cameras. He takes off without his laptop.

Lucky calls Dante from outside Luzetta's. They go over the clues they have regarding Maxie and Liz's disappearance. Dante offers to take care of it if he wants to take a break. Lucky insists he's fine and says he can't let Elizabeth down. After Lucky hangs up, Spinelli shows up and becomes fixated on cupcake frosting he sees on the dumpster. He tastes it and discovers that it's coconut delight. He assumes it's a message from Maxie and follows the trail she left for him. Meanwhile, Lucky heads inside Luzetta's kitchen and tastes the contents of what appears to be a bag of flour or sugar. Lucky calls Mac and tells him he found something that could blow the case wide open. He says he's booking it as evidence right now.

Liz and Maxie are held in a room somewhere with their hands tied in front of them. Liz tries to figure out a way out, but Maxie is confident Spinelli will find them. They start to bicker and Liz calls Maxie out on ignoring Matt. Maxie gets jealous upon hearing how close Liz and Matt have been getting. The women rehash their history while taking digs at each other. They come up with a plan and as the baker enters with food, Maxie fakes being ill. The baker unties Liz's wrists so she can tend to her. As she does, she secretly unties Maxie's hands who sprays something in the baker's eyes. Maxie runs out, but Liz is stopped by Anthony's hospital orderly/goon.

Spinelli sees Maxie running from the baker near the warehouses.

As Sonny and Kate stand on opposite sides of Sonny's office door, they each get a phone call. Kate's is about dresses being delivered to the Metro Court, as Sonny gets a call about Johnny. Once Kate has left, Dante arrives after being summoned. Sonny tells him that Johnny torched his warehouse tonight. Dante wonders if there's proof. Sonny knows it was him and asks Dante to help him keep his kids safe from Johnny. Dante knows he just wants to get one over on the Zaccharas and he won't risk his badge to help him do that.

Kate returns to Crimson because no one is in the office to sign for the dresses. As she looks at the wedding gowns, Olivia shows up and appeals to her about Sonny once again. Kate tells her cousin she's given Sonny all she intends to. She says Connie didn’t fare too well with Sonny. Olivia was lucky because at least she got a child as a souvenir, all she got was a bloody wedding dress.

Lulu enters the Haunted Star and finds Ethan on the ground. He tells her one of his cons went bad and his mark took it out on his face and ribs. Luke lurks as Lulu tells Ethan he's throwing his life away just like their dad did. Ethan thinks Luke gets a rap bad and understands his restlessness. Ethan thinks he's a Spencer through and through, but Lulu doesn’t think she is. Luke secretly listens as Ethan and Lulu discuss Lucky and detail what's taken place in his life the last few months. Ethan then offers to buy the Star from Lulu, or at least manage it. She thinks it would be best if she got them all out from under the place. Kate calls Lulu, demanding she fill in for Maxie with a fitting. Lulu heads out as Ethan follows. Luke emerges and finds Skye's letter to Ethan telling him not to wait around for Luke. She ends by thanking him for his help saying, "Maybe another time and another place."

Lulu shows up at Crimson to help Kate with the wedding photo shoot. Kate starts bagging on marriage, as Sam shows up looking for a dress for her wedding. Shocked, Kate asks, "You're getting married?" Later, Dante shows up and confronts his mother about almost getting herself killed at Sonny's. She turns it around on him by yelling at him for not fighting for Lulu. She storms out in frustration. Lulu and Sam return from the fitting and talk about marriage. Sam says sometimes you have to get out of your own way. After Sam leaves, Lulu looks at one of the dresses, as Dante emerges from Kate's office.

Kate returns to Sonny's restaurant and tells him they can't make their own futures until they get rid of the past.

Now Elizabeth is worried about her boys. You should have thought about them before you followed that strange man.

Dang, did y'all see Lulu almost fall when she was walking down those steps to get to Ethan? Those heels must been a little bit too high.

I can't stand Maxie. I hope Elizabeth does take Matt from her. She looks ten times better.

Dante Angelo Falconeri. Poor Dante, his middle name is Angelo.

Looks like Sonny and Kate might get back together. Uh oh Carly, what would you have to say about that. I know you will have an opinion. But remember, you don't want Sonny back.

Dante, you'd be a big dummy to take Stulu back. Let her fight for you for once.

So, Kate's going to go back down the Sonny path again? Two bullets meant nothing? That's the thing about this soap. It portrays women as not caring about their deaths, their careers, their children, nothing as long as they're getting banged regularly.

Oblivia must really hate her family members. She's ticked at Dante because Lulu's an imbecile and she's ticked at Kate for not wanting to die by Sonny's side. Wow!

I like Matt with Elizabeth, but I also like Liz with Lucky...especially with the kids involved.

Yesterday, wathcing Patrick with Matt makes me sick. how can doctors/surgeons treat each other like that? Much less brothers? You can be competitive without being so condescending. I don't like how the writers are allowing Matt to be everyone's doormat. First that twit Maxie, then Patrick. Then Kristina Airhead talks to Matt like he is HER servant. Enough!

I am sorry but I don't like the new Kate. So this storyline isn't going to work. Besides, 3 months ago, Brenda was the one that got away, the one that completes Sonny. Now Kate will be that girl...again (since we already went through this). I don't care what anybody says. There are 2 women who were perfect for Sonny (Lily and Carly). The rest were figments of the writers imaginations.

Ethan, I guess you are too busy hustling to visit Kristina. you know you want to.

Lulu: if you want to be alone for the rest of your life, I am okay with that. Since no one is up to your high standards, then be alone.
When Dante begged you not to go to the brothel and do all that stuff, you didn't listen. Why is it when someone doesn't do what you say, you break up? Get over it little girl, you aren't ready to be in a real relationship anyway.

    Size matters!

Every time Olivia gallops around like a bloody horse and opens her huge mouth, demanding that people do what she says I am reminded of how much I loathe her hypocritical arse. She loves to come across as this tough tell it like it is woman who has it together but in my opinion, she is probably just as messed up as any other character on the show. The minute Olivia showed up in PC, I was counting down the days when she would back her backs and go back to wherever she came from, sadly, she is still here telling people how to live their life as usual. Sometimes, there is a flicker there where I can say, hey she’s not so bad, and then she just takes a million steps back and all I want to do is slam a door in her face.
Right now, she seems as if she is more interested in seeing to Sonny’s safety versus that of her own flesh and blood. If Sonny is this raving out of control lunatic, why would she think that Kate should be the one to go after Sonny? Isn’t Sonny a grown man? Why is Olivia pressuring Kate to fix Sonny? I don’t get her, she loves to spout off at the mouth, but she is no better than any other person who has always found a way to excuse Sonny and his vile actions. Everything points to the fact that Sonny is completely self -destructive, so much so that people around him are in danger, yet this idiot wants her cousin to embroil herself in this jackass’ life. Olivia, shut your trap and go away. You think you know it all but you are just as clueless as everyone else, the big difference is that others know that they are a mess, but you seem to think that you are so together. It’s really pathetic. Last week you were encouraging an immature twit who puts the most unbelievable pressure on your son to reconcile with him and this week you are encouraging your cousin to involve herself with a man who has no compunctions about throwing a man off a balcony or killing his wife’s best friend. If Sonny is in need of a savior so bad, why don’t you go be his life vest and leave innocent people alone? Gosh, I detest her crude arse so much.

@ransomha, Sonny must have that thing in a sling tied to one of his walking legs. He has GOT to be the Shizznit for all of these women to lose their freaking minds. He's so good, Olivia doesn't need to be with him herself. Just knowing her cousin is laying in a bloody heap beside him is just fine with her.

Unicorn, I just said the same thing about Olivia in my post. Many times, I have heard Olivia patting herself on the back for being this real person, but I'm thinking to myself, no real person encourages their family members to do what she wants Dante and Kate to do. On top of that, it’s her blatant disregard for Kate's life choices. Sometimes I think it’s jealously or resentment that Kate left to make a better life for herself while she stayed behind. And despite my dislike for Dante, I cannot blame Olivia for the way she raised her son, because she did a fairly decent job.
Her insistence on calling Kate Connie, despite the fact that Kate asks her not to time and time again. Her idiotic rant blaming Kate for girls starving themselves when she looks like she could use a sandwich or two was so over the top, I was itching to do damage. I don’t get her character at all. She didn’t defend her son when Sonny shot him, she is encouraging a relationship that would only stifle Dante and turn him into a yes man and now she is on Kate’s case, never mind that she insists that Johnny remains at peace with Sonny, even though the latter is the one who keeps going out of his way to hurt the former. I really wish that she would shut her mouth and not say a word. All she does is drive home how completely stupid she really is. Perhaps she should have done what Kate did and stay in school. Not that I am saying that people who are high school drop outs are stupid, but it certainly would have helped her to develop better reasoning abilities especially if she didn’t have much to begin with.

Do you know what I really like about Garin Wolf and his new writing staff? Just about everything really, but I especially like the way he will occasionally dedicate an entire episode to recapping recent events as well as the ongoing General Hospital History Review that provides a way to get newer viewers up to speed while giving long timers a refresher course.

Today was just such a day. The theme was set in the first scene when Dante asked Lucky “What do we know?” From there we explored a huge chunk of GH back story right up to current events as told by several characters today in an almost seamless way.

Besides Lucky and Dante reviewing their drug case, we had a long look at the Spencer Family Album courtesy of Lulu and Ethan, with Luke eavesdropping. He’s starting to realize just how much he’s missed. Wait until he finds out what Sonny’s been up to lately. He’ll realize he’s not the most hated man in Port Charles anymore.

As for Lulu, she said to Ethan “You’re throwing (your life) away just like Dad did.” Is that what Ethan gets for being honest with his sister? Isn’t she the one who just yesterday told Lucky that she wouldn’t have judged him if he had just been honest with her? Sheesh!

Next we had Oblivia and her cousin Kate looking back on things that happened in their youth with Sonny, and talking about stuff we never heard about before. Olivia is essentially conducting psychological warfare on Kate, trying to break her down, and even though you might think Kate would be stronger willed than that, it’s apparently worked. I didn’t buy the arm wrestling challenge, but the rest of their exchange was interesting. I like the way Kate called Oblivia out on the fact that she’s never gotten over Sonny. Nothing else could explain the lengths Oblivia goes to just to protect and defend Sonny, even to the point of subjecting her cousin to further danger in a futile effort to calm Sonny down. I also think Kate has not fully recovered from the psychological ramifications of being shot on her wedding day, and who can blame her? Thanks a lot Sonny!

Sonny and Dante also spoke about their brief history together, including that tender moment when Sonny first learned that Dante was his son – right after he shot him in the chest. I don’t understand why Dante hasn’t arrested Sonny for trying to kill Johnny. What does this guy have to do before Dante puts him away?

The most entertaining walk down memory lane came from the delightful circumstances of locking up Maxie and Elizabeth in a small room. They shot rapid fire through everything they hate about each other, and then traded some brand new insults to throw fuel on the fire. The “baby puke down the back” crack was BRUTAL! Maxie essentially threw down the gauntlet, practically challenging Liz to take Dr. Matt away from her, maybe subconsciously even ASKING her to. That poor guy doesn’t have a clue what he’s in for, and I’d trade places with him in a second! That whooping and hollering “escape” they pulled off was silly fun, even though nobody could be a stupid as that bad guy (Joey?). What did Maxie spray in his face anyway – perfume?

LINE OF THE DAY is a no-doubt, slam dunk winner for the incomparable Maximista, who often speaks profound truths that can be obscured by her ditzy demeanor.

Maxie (to Liz): “Okay, sometimes size DOES matter, and anybody who says it doesn’t is a total liar!”

No one can ever say the girl doesn’t tell it like it is. She’s just awesome!

“Fashion is about form not function” indeed!

Do you think Oblivia caught a glimpse of Sam’s choice of footwear today after she made her remark about six inch stilettos and chiropractors? I don’t see how anybody can walk normally in those things, or think that they don’t do serious damage to their feet and ankles over time. And it’s not the height that makes me shake my head; I don’t mind seeing girls in platform shoes that don’t put their feet in abnormal positions, but I wince seeing them try to put all of their weight on those small little spikes while essentially standing on their toes for hours at a time and trying to walk without falling over. It’s just unnatural.

Women in the future will be as horrified at the exorbitant prices women of today gladly paid, both financially and physically, to subject themselves to torture in the name of fashion as we are repelled by the old Chinese tradition of binding women’s feet to keep them freakishly tiny. At the time, that was considered highly feminine and fashionably attractive too. Women only think that outrageously high heels makes them look good because somewhere along the way somebody (in the shoe business) SAID that’s what looks good. Of course they once said the same thing about layers of petticoats, bustles, and rib-breaking corsets, until somebody had the nerve to stand up and say “Hey you know, this stuff is really uncomfortable, and doesn’t make me look all that good come to think about it.” It’s just like diamonds aren’t valuable because they are rare (they’re not); they’re valuable simply because we have decided that they are.

Of course, I’m no fashion expert; I only know what I like. I’m just a simple caveman, so a girl wearing nothing but a fur loincloth and a smile is enough to make me happy, and the loincloth is optional.

How on earth can you keep this boring couple front and center when your ratings are still low.... Please listen to the real fans of the real Jason and Elizabeth (who have won every poll put forth) and please bring back the real Jaosn... the one who loves Elizabeth and Jake and Cameron....

Please let Jake be alive and come back to the show. Please bring back realistic story lines and listen to your viewers.

Thank you for letting me rant.....

Make Jason regain his right memory and bring him back. He has been out of his right mind since he got hurt in Mexico.

We want our real Jason Morgan back. I can't stand him with the child en-dangerous woman he is with now....
