    Life Without A Safety Net.

    Tuesday, August 16 2011
Diane, Mac, Coleman and Alexis discuss love and sex, while Jax takes off and Sonny is arrested.

Jax notices wires have been pulled on his jet. He fiddles with them and starts up the plane, but the tower tells him he does not have clearance. Jax takes off anyway, but seems to have trouble with his controls mid-flight.

Ethan stops Anthony's goon from harming Siohban in her hospital room. The goon pretends to be an orderly and leaves.

Dante brings Sonny to the station for assaulting him. Sonny leaves a message for Diane as Lulu visits Dante. She tells him she 's looking for Lucky, but Dante hasn't seen him. She takes a call from Ethan about Siobhan's accident with Elizabeth. He doesn't want her to be alone right now, so Lulu heads over. Dante walks back into to see Sonny, who says Diane will have him out in a couple of days. Dante says that will give Jax enough time to get out of town without more bullets flying. Sonny declares that Jax isn't going anywhere. Dante wonders what he did. Later, Max drops in and tells Sonny there was a problem and Jax already took off.

Lucky tries to leave the church to see Siobhan, but Elizabeth stops him. She tells him about the car accident and how his wife is in the hospital. She explains that she was driving the car Siobhan was in. Elizabeth also tells him about Siobhan falling down the flight of stairs, but swears it was an accident. Lucky leaves to go see his wife.

Lulu sees Lucky and Liz rush into the hospital. Lucky is caustic with his sister as he tries to get information from the nurse about Siobhan. Lulu assumes he's on something. Lucky reminds her he's undercover right now, but it doesn't mean he's living the part. He states he is not Luke and never will be. He leaves to sit with Siobhan.

After Mac crashes the party at Jake's, Diane convinces him to stay and loosen up, as Coleman counsels Alexis at the bar. Diane tells Mac he is too safe and honest to be desired by women, namely Alexis. Mac responds that they are friends and colleagues and he won't compromise her. Diane suggests he appreciate her in a new way. Mac accuses her of thinking he's washed up. Diane just thinks he needs to find the man he lost while parenting and being politically correct. Talk turns to Diane and she admits it's been great with Max, but you have to eventually move on to make new memories with someone or something new. Mac notes she's scared. She admits she is, but there's something to be said for living life without a safety net. She says you have find something that makes you truly happy, but Mac says sometimes you just have to be okay with what you have. Meanwhile, Alexis admits to Coleman there isn't any spark between her and Mac. He thinks she should give it a chance, but Alexis doesn’t think it works that way. She says you just recognize in the moment the thing you've been waiting for, even if you didn't know you wanted it. Alexis turns it on Coleman and they talk about Kate. He admits he tired to fit in her world, but she didn’t want him on her arm in public. She asks if he misses her. He does, but he's not sure if he misses her or just having someone there. He talks about being with other women and running the bar, but wonders if there's more to life than that. Mac approaches and offers to drive Alexis home, but gets a call over the radio to go to the airport. Diane announces she just got a call from Sonny and she has to leave to meet him.

Michael follows a crying Abby back to their room on the island. She tells him she overheard some women talking about her. They assumed she was a hooker Sonny paid to be with him. After Abby expresses how upset she is about it, Michael leaves to straighten things out. When Michael returns, he tells Abby anyone who disparages her will be fired, but he thinks she needs to stop worrying about what people think about her. She doesn’t want him to act like his father and again suggests he explore all of his options. He in turn wants her to see herself for the beautiful person she is. She doesn't feel beautiful. Later, Michael sets up a dinner for them and apologizes for being an ass. They talk about heading back to Port Charles, but he hasn't made up his mind about returning to ELQ though. He vows to take her advice and explore his opportunities and have fun.

Tomorrow's Port Charles spoilers for General Hospital:

    Carly smacks Sonny.

    Tracy and Skye face off.

Patrick, Matt and Robin disagree about Jason.

I despise the character of Sonny Corinthos and Michael is fast approaching the next rung of that ladder of hate, little pissant. Abby is too freaking good for him. I hope she has a rich unknown parent out there somewhere.

Can Laura please come back and be the parent so Lulu can take her mouth elsewhere. If she were my sister I'd be seeking out drugs.

    Mac and Diane???? Hmmmmmmmmmm

    Alexis and Coleman????? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I do believe Kate will be back to explain to Sonny and all who will listen why he's not responsible for anything he does. I can hear it now....

So Sonny, Brenda's panties were all in a knot when she found out you framed Jax. They're going to catch fire when she finds out you KILLED Jax. And please writers, spare us him faking guilt for a day or two. Just cause the plane went down in flames instead of them sailing him to the middle of the ocean and dropping his anchored body in, does not mean he gets and excuse for killing Sexy Jax. Dead is still dead..........at least till the powers that be realize Jax was a good character. And I hope Jerry comes back and terrorizes EVERYone....

Wow! We are getting quite a bit of Coleman these days. I wonder if he is being set up for a twosome?

I’m getting real tired of Abby and Michael. I used to enjoy them, before Abby became Michael’s mama/ guidance counselor and now it’s the same song and dance every single time. Since when did Abby became so sensitive? I am a fan of Abby’s, but she was a stripper for crap’s sake so surely the remarks of a couple of jealous vindictive women shouldn’t make her feel ALL that bad? Maybe a little, but not enough to cry about it. And now, all her insecurities about herself and her past has become the focus of their relationship. Everytime we see them, she is either scolding Michael about his behaviour or lecturing him about not becoming like Sonny. Its nice that she encourages him, but my ears are starting to bleed from it. By now, she should realize that Michael is going to do what he's going to do, no matter what she says. The only thing that is keeping Michael from throwing his hands up and giving on their relationship is the fact that she's his first love and she helped him through a very traumatizing experience. But I am just about sick of hearing them discuss Michael's future and what he should and shouldn't do. Let it rest for a while. I can see that this couple is on the road to splitsville and perhaps it’s high time. Can’t believe they fizzled so fast. Oh well, I guess I can always YT when I’m feeling sentimental.

Oh here we go, Lulu, please hurry back over to the PCPD, Dante is in need of the brain cells that you borrowed.
I guess that Jason is still on the floor and Sam is crouched over him screaming for a doctor, by tomorrow I suspect that she will probably lose her voice. Why did the writers think that showing idiot Lulu or lame arse Dante would be some sort of satisfactory filler in place of what was happening with Jason? Because I would prefer watching Jason simply lying on a hospital bed to watching Dante pretend as if he knows what he’s talking about as Sonny looks on all nonchalant like, confident in the fact that while his copper son may have some nice qualities although none that I can recall, being smart isn’t one of them.

I am at a loss with GH right now.
It's really hard when OLTL is really good and other soaps are interesting. I don't know where the writers are headed considering they are ruining all the characters on here.

WOW! Sonny (and possibly Liz) facing charges? Mac and Alexis getting busy? Michael having fun? Diane breaking up with Max? Crashing Jax? I LOVE THIS SHOW!

The trick to an enjoyable serial drama, and probably the hardest task for the writers, is to make it so the viewer can’t wait to find out what happens next. GH has got that going on in spades with several characters, some who weren’t even on today. Jason and Sam, Carly and Shawn, Anthony and Johnny, etc., are also involved in storylines that I think are interesting and compelling. This is GREAT!

Abby should know a back-handed compliment when she hears it. Those jealous hens weren’t comparing her to a cheap street hooker. They were essentially saying that she was so beautiful that she must’ve been a gift to Michael from his father, WHO OWNS THE WHOLE ISLAND! It’s more of a dig against Michael than anything, implying he lacks the ability to attract a woman as stunning as Abby, (and was she EVER!) without his father paying for it.

Lucky to Liz (after she told him Shaboom had been injured “pretty bad” in a car accident.)

Lucky: “Are you SURE?” Oh yeah…. She’s sure, all right.

It looks REALLY bad for Elizabeth. By all outward appearances, after she threw a woman recovering from nearly fatal (thanks to Liz) brain surgery down a flight of stairs, Liz was then trying to toss an unconscious Shaboom out of a moving car in a thunderstorm when she lost control and ran into Jason and Carly. Not that she actually did mind you, but I don’t see how she could prove otherwise, and I’ll bet the evidence will support my theory. She’s the only one who came out without a scratch, as Ethan noted.

Here are some questions the police might have for Liz:

Mac: “Elizabeth, why didn’t you call for an ambulance when Shaboom “fell” down the staircase? As a nurse you should know that moving someone like that is dangerous.”

Liz: “I didn’t think there was time to wait for an ambulance.”

Mac: “And you carried her to your car?”

    Liz: “Yes.”

Mac: “But you didn’t strap her in?”

Liz: “No, I was in a hurry I guess. I just didn’t think about it.”

    Mac: “Uh-huh.”

She’s going to need a good lawyer.

I love it when the characters quote me. Dante practically read my post from over the weekend word for word when detailing the charges against Sonny. I guess Dante’s not totally brainless after all. Either Lucky and Sonny knocked some sense into him or the longer he’s apart from Lulu, the smarter he becomes. At least he didn’t fall for it when Sonny tried the “Jedi Mind Trick” on him. It was just like my SCENE with Sonny in the straight jacket.

Sonny: “DANTE! Take these off of me. I’m getting out of here.”

Dante: “Yeah right into a holding cell.”

    Sonny: “I can’t be in close quarters because I start… I…”

Dante: “What, you need me to get you a diaper or something? Maybe you should’ve chosen a profession that got you more outdoors.”

And THAT my friends, is THE LINE OF THE DAY! Maybe THE LINE OF THE WHOLE DAMN YEAR!!!!

Sonny shouldn't be blamed for Jax's accident, Jax for the plane started and he wasn't cleared for take off and he went anyway. Sonny's may have had a plan, but it went awry when Jax "fixed" his plane and took off without clearance. I was really beginning to get upset with the writers for what they were doing to Sonny. Even though he will be blamed...at least he didn't do it

do you see how important Jason is to Sonny? A simple job and Max botches it up. Where is the enforcer when you need someone taken care of?

    Hi everyone,

Mac needs to find his inner Scorpio and get back a little of the panache he had before he spent all those years raising the girls. He used to be the guy Diane was describing, but now he’s just sad. For a workaholic he doesn’t seem to have the first clue about how to run the department effectively. On a personal level it’s obvious the man just forgot how to have fun. I’m beginning to wonder if Robin was the one who raised Mac. I’m hoping he’s in for a little excitement both on and off the job to get the blood pumping again. I may be crazy, but I think having a little fling with Diane could do wonders for him and Coleman seems to be the person to teach Alexis how to enjoy herself again.

Abby and Michael have reached the FF point with me. Why does she insist on the “poor me” followed by “I’m not worthy” followed by “All done, ready to enjoy myself now”. What is the point of the whining and cajoling if she’s going to give up and enjoy whatever Michael has planned next?

As much as Sonny is off the rails, I’m surprised that Jax is getting all the victim support. Instead of working through the judicial system properly when he sought to gain full custody of Joslyn, he tried to use his money and influence. When that didn’t work he knowingly offered to take Brenda back to Rome knowing full well that it would strike a blow to both Carly and Sonny. When he snuck back into PC, once again thinking laws doesn’t apply to him, to steal his daughter out of her crib, he showed just how little he cares about anyone else, including his daughter. If Jax’s plane crashes, of course Sonny will be blamed, but Jax should have not taken off when the tower told him he didn’t have clearance or when he saw that the plane had been tampered with. I guess he also believes the laws of physics don’t apply to him either.

I’ll still give Sonny the funniest line of the day, IMO, “You don’t talk to your father like a big time cop” which I found more amusing because Dante thought he’d solved all the problems of the day. Oops, Jax slipped through the net after breaking his share of laws.

Liz needs to knock off the “it was an accident, you have to believe me” line because it’s starting to sound like don’t blame me, I was in Cleveland.

All in all today’s show seemed like a lot of sound and fury to me.

mamajj - I was wearing my glasses today all ready to see something good, but even Coleman put his clothes back on.

Guess Jax is learning the hard way, when you don't have clearance, don't fly!

Ethan, go mind your own business, Siobhan had a visitor.

Coleman has got to be the grossest guy on daytime. It's no wonder Kate didn't take him out in public, who could blame her? He's the type who gets woman when they are at a low or drunk.

enad: I totally agree about Abby. I'm sure a stripper has heard plenty of rude remarks.

I know what I meant to add. Why would the staff be gossiping about and making fun of guests at the casino? I get a little confused about Sonny's island. Do other people go there to gamble or is the staff maintained just in case he brings the family or a flame there to play?
